well I installed tein s tech springs and it worked fine for a day and then all of a sudden I parked my car outside with the inside light on accidentally and it is 36 degrees out here in henderson right now...so I dont know if thats a factor...well yeah the engine check light is on now and I dont know how to solve that problem

 

Springs should have nothing to do with a CEL.

 

I know that but what could it be

 

Maintenance light? Tire pressure indicator? Sure it's the CEL?

 

Is it the CEL or Maint. Req. light?

If it is the CEL, get the code read and troubleshoot from there.

 

Wow, I wish I owned a 4Runner, RX330, and tC when I was 17.

Just kidding...but how many miles are on your car? I believe at 5,000 the light comes on for your first oil change. Not sure, that may be the check oil light or something of the sort. Honestly, I would just roll up to the dealership and have them take care of it. That is, if you still have your warranty. Not sure what else you've done to your car, but I doubt they'll care about the springs.

I believe it should be free as long as you still have the warranty on your car.

 

it should be.. try to get the code read and post it here.. i know a lot of SL members will give you insight to the cause. but for the meantime check the gas cap if it's tight..

there's a lot of things that can cause an CEL..

also what other mods do you have?

 

I have a injen cai tanabe concept g and tein springs those are my performance mods...umm I just recently crashed it too..but I'm fixing it...

 

Like I said, I believe it should be free. Even if it's not though, is that really an issue? If you have money for all those mods, then keeping your engine from exploding can't come at too high a cost...

that was 200 miles ago and it was the whole right side...the hood is out of alignment too..and my exhaust is crooked...

 

oh ok.. have the code read at autozone or have the dealer check it up. better hope the injen cai has got nothing to do with it.. or it's not gonna be free..

Perhaps the CAI plus the extremely cold weather have combined to jack with the engine. Check engine lights can come on for virtually any reason, so it's really almost impossible for us to diagnose the problem. I wouldn't be surprised if your CAI is causing the problem though, most people will incur a CAI after installing an intake.
