Default I really need help!!!

I tried to find a forum on this but had no luck. I'm sure it's here but I can't find it. I just had a injen intake installed in my '06 TC but when I start it, it makes a tapping sound It seems like it get less noisy as I drive. Has anybody experienced this? Should I be concerned?

How loud? If it is tapping when you start it, where is it coming from in the engine bay? Did you check your mount brackets, is everything tight? It probably gets less noisy because road noise drowns it out. The intake shouldn't cause tapping noises, check both of your mounts and your mounting brackets to ensure that they are tight, try shaking the intake lightly to see if you can replicate the noise with the car off. Just a few suggestions, but I don't claim to be an expert. You can pm me with questions, I'll be more than happy to answer.

yeah, i was gonna suggest the brackets too.....that would be my guess, that you didn't or forgot to tighten down the brackets......it wouldn't hurt to double check those, and then try it out again

It's loud enough to be noticeable when the hoods closed. It's coming from the area by the intake. It's called the vacuum switching valve I think. Any help to try and pinpoint the problem will be appreciated.

the pcv hose? it shouldn't be clicking unless there is a kink in the hose. make sure where it meets the head that it isn't folded or anything. Does it sound like a metal on metal click?

Yes it does kind of sound like metal to metal. I guess I just might have to take it to someone else because the guy that did it says he has no idea what it could be.

Mine kinda did the same thing. If it's the CAI set-up there's a good chance that the section of pipe that the filter hooks up to is bumping into the body panel just under the hood. Look at the pipe where it curves and disappears into the wheel well. Check under it and see if it's rubbing or really super close to it. If so you may need to loosen the bolts on both brackets and readjust it so it's not so close... Hope this helps...

I'm pretty sure he's right... I'm dealing with rubbing issues from the cold-air extension rubbing against the fender right above the passenger tire.

I wedged some extra soft foam in there... absorbs vibrations... it's helped for now. Be sure to use some duct tape.

Also, using zip-ties on the front intake bracket to limit its movement has seemed to help too.

Yes, duct tape and zip ties. My car is complete !
