Default What did you pay for your TC out the door?

Yo guys, noob to the site, but not to the car forum scene. Just wanted to introduce myself to start off things. My name is Kris and I own a 2004 Vivid Blue Honda Civic Si with a couple mods and a 2004 Toyota Corolla-S (its my lady's ride).

My sister is going to be picking up a new car sometime this year and I am pushing for her to get a TC. She's really interested in them and would like a stock auto w/TRD SC. From what I've read, the SC wont be available for maybe 8-10 months.

So I was just curious to know what most of you are paying for your TCs. My sister would prefer a completely stock one w/auto to start with. If you guys could let me know what you paid out the door, what your APR was/is, and what ur monthly payments are, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for your time!

stock AT IIP tc $17410 something
paint protection $600 -not necessary
factory alarm $500 -not necessary
100k/6year watt $990 -not necessary
tax/doc fee/DMV stuff about 10% of the car value

8500 down, 60 payments, 4.9 %

total close to 23k out of the door.

so i got total about 2.2k of non-nessary items. depend on the amount that you finance, you may be able to keep the price out of the door below 20k (kind of hard).

Check out this thread: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...er=asc&start=0

It should help with what people have already responded with.

From LA, I paid ~ 18,700 out the door for my tC with floor mats and a TRD exhaust (about 675 more than the price for a base ) According the the scion website, the price difference between the auto and manual is about 800.

23 OTD... what in the...
are they selling above sticker price in Cali? Cause I would never buy a TC for 23 unless it had the SC

And on the terms of the TRD SC, it will be ready this fall.

i consider what i am actually paying price is out of door price, i don't think there are any dealer mark-up. think about it, you get to pay 1.5k - 2k just for govertment crap (tax, DMV), that make your car close to 20k already. and with finance, even i only finance about 12-13k, the interest is going to be around another 2k depend on the payment term and rate (in my case, about 1.5k for insterest).

oh... paint protection is somthing that the dealer put on...i think they put on aonther thin layer stuffs on top of the factory paint. i really can't tell what they did, but i can feel the surface difference(by touching) after the thing is done compare to the first time i pick up the car. my dealer call it touch of class, they told me i can use machine wash and waxing without damage the thing. i guess that may be just a rip off that dealer offer to me, but i am sure will go to the dealer and _____ about it when something happen.

$600 for paint protection? From my searches, this seems more like a dealer scam to get money from ya for waxing your car. I could be wrong, and it could actually protect your car, but I doubt it:

Should I buy paint or rust protection with my new car?

Paint - paint protection is generally overpriced, the manufacturer's handbook will detail how to take adequate care of your car's exterior.

Rust - paints and sealers used by car manufacturers are of a good quality making rust protection treatments unnecessary.
http://www.carbuyingtips.com/scams.htm <-- a good site if you are even remotely thinking about buying a car.

ye, i know i mey just get rip off on that, but it's kind of hard to resist dealer sweet talk and she was a pretty looking lady + i was exciting about getting my car + i was unexperience for buying a car (never bought one) + .... lots other reasons..... anyway, i was sucker to get that paint protection. but lucky enough, i cancel the 800 lojack thing. now i know i get rip off for the alarm, but that's not dealer's fault, that's scion's fault.

Please talk your sister into buying a 5-speed... I had an automatic Matrix with a supercharger on it - fast, but it would have been 40% faster and more fun to drive with 5-speed. I actually sold it and bought a tC because it was an automatic...

My auto SC Matrix could *barely* pull on a 5-speed stock matrix - so please make her reconsider the transmission (plus she saves $800+ if she goes 5-speed).

I paid $17300 for mine - that includes ttl+doc fee - bone stock 5-speed at a time of purchase. Spent $600 on it since then - have springs, sway/strut bars, sub, compass mirror, tint.

^^^^^^ 17,300 OTD?! I envy you! I paid 18,030 for my bone stock tC (MT). Granted, I do live in San Francisco where sales tax is 8.5%.

I guess pre-ttl number would make more sense, because each county has different sales tax. But in this case we all should pay the same amount, unless some dealer discount options, or sucker buyers into $700 tint jobs.
