I don't want the Chinese xB either. And I don't want the bB either and besides a lot of sources have pointed to no on getting it. Hurry Toyota, bring us the new xB already!! Did I see turn signals in the mirrors in the spy shot above?? brownKIDDnate 12-07-2006, 05:05 PM what if the bB was one of those models. i mean yeah we can create hype and knowledge thru spy shots of "xB"'s runnin around but what if thats testing for something other? i dunno i think it could happen hotbox05 12-07-2006, 05:07 PM loooks like a cross between the scion xb and the chevrolet hhr, which isn't a bad thing, i think it looks pretty awesome. if i ever need an affordable car for mass transit, i'd get one! YUCK the hhr and any gm retro project is HIDEOUS and a HALF salteen 12-07-2006, 05:10 PM Regardless of what anybody "knows" or thinks I'm personally hoping they bring the current bB body style over...I love it and would seriously consider trading in the RS3 for one. locondcoco 12-07-2006, 05:10 PM why would 4wd only be avaliable with the cheaper model? why is AWD only available on the IS250 and not the 350? (not to mention the MT as well). SquallLHeart 12-07-2006, 05:14 PM Regardless of what anybody "knows" or thinks I'm personally hoping they bring the current bB body style over...I love it and would seriously consider trading in the RS3 for one. i guess if you want to spend the money to try and import one over... that's a possiblity... otherwise... uhm.. yea.. "know".... for us... has no quotes. salteen 12-07-2006, 05:19 PM Regardless of what anybody "knows" or thinks I'm personally hoping they bring the current bB body style over...I love it and would seriously consider trading in the RS3 for one. i guess if you want to spend the money to try and import one over... that's a possiblity... otherwise... uhm.. yea.. "know".... for us... has no quotes. i'm just being hopeful. i'm sure some of the dealership guys do know...and it's annoying :tap: does toyota require top secret security clearences to work there or what? lol SquallLHeart 12-07-2006, 05:27 PM unfortunately not... but most dealerships are even held in the dark.. actually all of them in this case. anyone who may remotely know are higher ups.. as in regional reps or something. toyota has taken alot of measures to make sure nothing leaks out. including the new truck thay have planned. brownKIDDnate 12-07-2006, 05:31 PM unfortunately not... but most dealerships are even held in the dark.. actually all of them in this case. anyone who may remotely know are higher ups.. as in regional reps or something. toyota has taken alot of measures to make sure nothing leaks out. including the new truck thay have planned. yeah we got this local guy in orlando, name is mel, he worked for toyota in the mid/late 90's for the latin america division and he showed us all these classified documents, which obviously are now unclassified, and it showed EVERYTHING!!! salteen 12-07-2006, 05:34 PM including the new truck thay have planned. shh stop it! :P hotbox05 12-07-2006, 05:39 PM not all but the vast majority of dealership guys know less than i do. i thin kit's funny when they ask me about scion updates. lol hopefully some sort of new toyota or scion vehicle will be a badarsed lil street truck. bout the size of old toyota "truck" pickups. brownKIDDnate 12-07-2006, 05:44 PM not all but the vast majority of dealership guys know less than i do. i thin kit's funny when they ask me about scion updates. lol haha ditto. i asked about the xA RS3 a month before they got their first one on the lot and i knew more bout it than the new car sales manager did murfnut 12-07-2006, 08:40 PM That green RS3 is awesome. Why would you get rid of it ? just get a second car. I saw one driving behind us on the road and it made all the other cars around it look gray. It reminded me of those commercials where everything is drab an grey except the item they were selling which was cool, colorful and stood out. My brother has the orange RS1 which is nice especially down here in UT (longhorn) country, but the green is much better. typhoonorchid 12-08-2006, 03:08 AM http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/narcolepsy123456/bB2.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/narcolepsy123456/bB.jpg These are both pretty tight! hotbox05 12-08-2006, 05:11 AM i hate the fenders with a passion and a half. glad we aren't getting it. 8) SquallLHeart 12-08-2006, 07:11 AM i wouldn't mind it too much really.. but neah... i'm glad scion is breaking apart a bit more. DarkBoxJr 12-08-2006, 07:16 AM why would 4wd only be avaliable with the cheaper model? The 4WD model is the most expensive. Winter 12-09-2006, 01:06 AM if you think about it though... 4wd is becoming a standard for smaller vehicels. i wouldn't be suprised if it was the cheaper option soon for alot of vehicels... TANTALIZEDMIND 12-09-2006, 02:22 AM http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/narcolepsy123456/bB2.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/narcolepsy123456/bB.jpg These are both pretty tight! I'd buy an xB if it had the 2.4 or larger engine. Keitaro 12-09-2006, 03:19 AM Toyota F3R...it's like the bigger new bB but similar in size to the xB replacement spy pictures: http://www.autoweek.com/files/specials/2006_detroit/toyota/f3r/images/01.jpg hotbox05 12-09-2006, 10:12 PM if you think about it though... 4wd is becoming a standard for smaller vehicels. i wouldn't be suprised if it was the cheaper option soon for alot of vehicels... they can't just say hey this is popular make it cheaper. awd costs a lot more than rwd or rwd. weighs more . kills gas mileage. not all that attractive in a very small car in all reality. hotbox05 12-09-2006, 10:13 PM Toyota F3R...it's like the bigger new bB but similar in size to the xB replacement spy pictures: http://www.autoweek.com/files/specials/2006_detroit/toyota/f3r/images/01.jpg no that thing is behemouth. it's close to alphard size. ( full sized toyota van in japan ) TuningIsLife 12-10-2006, 01:20 PM From what I understand from someone who went to Texas for the Toyota meeting is that the next "tall 4 door wagon /mpv" will be similar to the t2b, just not with all the odd things. District Manager had said it will also not be called a xB nor will it be called a bB and we will also not receive the 3rd Generation Toyota bB. SactoGuy7654 12-11-2006, 01:24 AM From what I understand from someone who went to Texas for the Toyota meeting is that the next "tall 4 door wagon /mpv" will be similar to the t2b, just not with all the odd things. District Manager had said it will also not be called a xB nor will it be called a bB and we will also not receive the 3rd Generation Toyota bB. I'd put my money on the xB replacement being based on the new JDM Toyota Corolla Fielder wagon but with a body shape strongly akin to the Scion T2B concept car and could even accommodate the 2.4-liter I-4 from the Scion tC sports coupe. It is essentially the first US-legal Toyota/Scion model based on the next-generation Corolla platform. hotbox05 12-11-2006, 04:33 AM we are getting stuff off the old corolla platform if what i've been told is correct. either way it'll be ugly , heavy , slow. and get bad mileage Crispyxb 12-14-2006, 05:49 PM here are a few that are for sale overseas currently. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/narcolepsy123456/bB4.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/narcolepsy123456/bB3.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/narcolepsy123456/bB2.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/narcolepsy123456/bB.jpg Exactly what kinda of vechile are those? RTon20s 12-15-2006, 01:48 AM The new bB in Japan. This is what replaced our car over there. We will not be getting it here. cliffy1 12-15-2006, 07:38 PM I'd put my money on the xB replacement being based on the new JDM Toyota Corolla Fielder wagon but with a body shape strongly akin to the Scion T2B concept car and could even accommodate the 2.4-liter I-4 from the Scion tC sports coupe. It is essentially the first US-legal Toyota/Scion model based on the next-generation Corolla platform. This is exactly what I have been told it will be. By the way, this level of secrecy is not new with Toyota. I've been with them for almost 13 years and we almost never see anything of substance until the cars are almost ready to arrive. The only exception is if the car its replacing has essentially sold out. For instance, the Sienna pics and specs were released almost a year before it came out because there were almost no Previas left by that point. The same thing happened when the Tundra replaced the T100. On the other hand, the current Runner was hidden until almost the day it was released because we still had the old ones in stock. Same with every generation of the Camry. I actually come here to see if y'all have found something that I didn't know. I usually find one or two tid bits that seem plausible. sinjin_dog 12-16-2006, 03:05 AM I am a newbie here. I know cliffy1 from Toyota sites about six years ago, don't you not work for a Toyota dealer? Anyway, I want to thank this board for sharing information and I just bought white xB auto last week. I did not want the bigger engine on new up coming model. I like the current xB, it is a no frill simple car with a good value. I think this new replacement is one way to raise the price by Toyota/Scion for mo profit. cliffy1 12-16-2006, 01:38 PM I am a newbie here. I know cliffy1 from Toyota sites about six years ago, don't you not work for a Toyota dealer? Yup... that's me. I'm at Springfield Toyota/Scion. We're a site sponsor here. As to info on the next generation xB, I suspect others here will get new information before I do. We have a winter roundtable meeting coming up in late January and I expect we'll get a ton of info there, but the California dealers will probably get it first. |
