Hey everybody. I've been lurking around for the last 6 months and finally bit the bullet. My thundercloud xB will be in next week. Now comes the fun part. I'm definatly going with a two tone Gunmetal or Bronze on top, Thundercloud on the bottom with a Liquid Copper accent between the two, similar to my avatar.
I've been looking at rims lately and nothing has really piqued my interest yet, but I saw these and kinda dug them for some reason. maybe the whole X thing! ha
They are off a saturn ion of all things.
Here's the ebay link to the rims http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7913245103&category=42614
And here's my imagestation link with a rough photoshop of the paint scheme.

I'll be tweaking the paint scheme and colors this weekend, but this was just quick and dirty to get some opinions.
Don't be shy everybody, lets hear it!
I don't like the stripe in the middle. Seems too busy for my tastes, I'd just go two-tone.
The colors all work together nicely though. 8)

I like the 2 tone idea...Like he said ^^^ Don't like the stripe....also I am not very fond (s/p) of those rims....Otherwise the color scheme goes really well!
Just My 2 cents! :D

The paint sounds good, but not the rims.
They look plastic and remind me of the wheels you see on LEGO sets.
Just my opinion...

It could be very sweet. I think the stripe might look better if it got just a little wider as you went back -- maybe a half inch difference or so. It would be subtle, but it could make a big difference. Maybe the color shifted too, lighter in front, darker in back, or something like that.
The bold step would be to paint the wheels to match. Or really flip your finger at the conformists and paint them yellow.

I would hit a white stripe or a black stripe instead of the yellow one.

The yellow doesn't fit, IMO. Maybe if it was a darker gold color but black might be a good separator. The way I see it, if you are going 2 tone, the yellow accents too much and it becomes 3-tone. black would tie in the trim and keep it from getting too busy. But your tastes might be different.
Not to be all negative but I don't really dig those rims either. You asked us to comment.
I like the idea of the X theme, however:

I'd pass on those style of rims. They distract, rather than compliment, the car. Also, I agree that the stripe between the two colors doesn't work. Better off with just the two-tone approach, unless you did the stripe in something like carbon fiber-like vinyl. I saw a PT Cruiser today that was painted like an Oakland Raider fan would paint it, black on top and silver down below, right below the windows. Didn't look too bad, and was definitely an attention-getter.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I'd have to agree the wheels are a no go. A moment of temporary insanity, and we'll leave it at that! ha
The strip shows up yellow in the pic but it would be a metallic copper color, second page of this thread has an infinity with it. http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6220&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30
I imagine we'll be highlighting it too to give it a "wet" look. We'll see soon enough, 5 days till I'm boxing! lol
Thanks again!
