View Full Version : MobileHID.com - The Best Waterproof HID Conversion kit! ScionJim23 01-29-2009, 02:12 AM where's the sale. I have friends that want HIDs scikotictc232 01-29-2009, 02:20 AM i want hid kit for my 07 to run 08 projectors. please pm daydr3am 01-29-2009, 03:47 AM I'm still waiting for the sale lol. Ah, wish I got them on Black Friday... iocca 01-29-2009, 04:25 AM how much were they on black friday? Eltaco 01-29-2009, 04:59 AM how much were they on black friday? If I remember right he was selling the kit with slim ballast for 130 and replacement bulbs for 45. cliffud 01-29-2009, 06:47 AM OK Guys and Gals!! I checked the inventory and after considering the wild requests for the extreme color temps, here is a sale for products that normally don't get any coverage... for the lowest price EVER on the Heavy Duty kits... so low, you'll say "holy cow" which would be somewhat appropriate because it's the new Chinese year of the Ox... which is somewhat "cow shaped". http://www.mobilehid.com/cny.htm :) 12k and 3k for now... other color temps may be added later depending on all of your responses... Lemme know what you want. Clifford stillettoDSM 01-29-2009, 01:19 PM I was hoping for a Sale on the Slim Ballasts. 6000k Preferably. Looks like I'll be waiting still. Great Prices on the Heavy Duties though! daydr3am 01-29-2009, 01:26 PM Clifford, you are awesome. I was looking for a sale on the slim ballasts too, the 5000K (top choice) or 6000K (second choice). If they don't go on sale that's fine, they are pretty cheap regular price already. :) stillettoDSM 01-29-2009, 01:33 PM What's our Price on them Regularly anyways? $225? stillettoDSM 01-29-2009, 01:52 PM What's our Price on them Regularly anyways? $225? iocca 01-29-2009, 02:07 PM no h3 love? I want a Set of Slims. gulfstreamblues 01-29-2009, 02:30 PM I was hoping for another black friday type sale. That's cool that you're offering the extreme colors for sale but I'm really only interested in the 4300K. AAG 01-29-2009, 04:55 PM ^ Same here cliff I need some H11 4300k bulbs :lalala: Eltaco 01-29-2009, 05:54 PM H11 4300 for me too iocca 01-29-2009, 06:30 PM i need new 9006 6000k bulbs :( mine are pretty dull now. AAG 01-29-2009, 06:46 PM i need new 9006 6000k bulbs :( mine are pretty dull now. Do you mean they color shifted? I got the same problem, my 5000k were perfect when they were brand new, but have since color shifted and are too blue for me. Reason I'm wanting 4300k now because they should look just like (or close to) a brand new 5000k once they color shift. iocca 01-29-2009, 06:56 PM i think mine might have gotten more white, but they just arent as bright as they used to be sp2 01-30-2009, 01:26 AM ^ Same here cliff I need some H11 4300k bulbs :lalala: yea i wish this one too but no rush maybe in like 10 days when get tax return back haha NtcBltC 01-30-2009, 02:30 AM I got my 4300K H11 installed recently. I love the way it is so bright. 4300K is the way to go One thing though, Cliff.. Luckily, the guy who installed my HIDs (Doc. I) had an extra set of actual H11 wires (don't know what they are called). The ones that came in the box didn't have it's clip thing and wouldn't stay connected unless it was zipped-tied. But Doc. I had an extra one that actually had a tag that said H11 on it.. and the one that came in the box didn't have the tag at all?? So we used the one included in the box first and the light kept flickering on and off.. then suddenly Doc. I remembered he had an extra set.. (luckily for me) So my concern was.. what happened, cliff? How come you sent me a cable extending harness thing that was cut and didn't have its connecting clip? NtcBltC 01-30-2009, 02:33 AM ^^^ I think it is the connection wires to the factory plugs. The ends didn't have its clip thing. It was cut off and had to be zipped-tied... :( Iceman04503 01-30-2009, 06:38 AM I got a question. The price on www.mobilehid.com/scionlife is that for the analog or digital? Iceman04503 01-30-2009, 07:45 AM Yeah I heard that too. Maybe i'll just get Nokyas. It was cut off and had to be zipped-tied... :( Yeah, sorry bud, they all have to be modified in order to fit inside the H11 OEM plug because the OEM plug is too small. Believe me, it would be nice if we didn't have to modify them all but it's a little extra TLC that's packed in each kit along with some rubber gloves so your hands don't get dirty... :) TCRS40 01-31-2009, 10:33 PM hey cliff how about adding some h11 6k to the sale ?????? Aurora 02-02-2009, 10:20 PM BUMP gulfstreamblues 02-04-2009, 06:27 PM Cliffud, How's the sale going? I got a set 4 months ago, no problem at all, fast start up and bright! 09tC_CB7 02-12-2009, 02:19 PM My only problem was a had rotate a plug around 180 degrees (reverse polarity) then they fired right up. Also saw spots for a few hours because I didn't expect it to fire up and I was looking at the bulb. User error. But I have had mine since black friday and they are still working great! gulfstreamblues 02-13-2009, 03:35 AM Just ordered the 4300K, can't wait! mengsta 02-13-2009, 04:05 AM Wow this thread has exploded, since i ordered HID's from cliff. But anyway i just wanted to give a bump for cliff because of the great customer service. I just had a problem few days ago. I messaged cliff he fixed the problem in 2 minutes, no questions asked. Service cant get any better than that. Iceman04503 02-18-2009, 02:30 AM Anyone know if the heavy duty analog HID from mobilehid 35w or 50w or 55w? 2_tC 02-18-2009, 07:47 AM They are 35W Iceman04503 02-18-2009, 03:22 PM I would have guess 55w. cliffud 02-21-2009, 07:55 PM Hi guys- yeah, they're 35w for the heavy duty kit. I wish I could make things up for the Scion_Tuner guy but he happened to buy bulbs by themselves and not as part of a kit so they shipped out without any modification to interface with our harness because some people simply buy bulbs to add to other kits. Scion_Tuner: Here's a write up of how to interface a standard set of H4 bulbs to our harness: http://www.mobilehid.com/h4.htm Start on step 5 or as I mentioned in PM, you can send them in for modification if you want/need. Mengsta- hehe, thanks man. :) btw - PM'd everyone back. If I missed you, please let me know. The silly PM system here unfortunately doesn't show if a message got replied to or not. :( Have a good weekend guys/gals. WiCKD_tC 02-24-2009, 02:11 PM Cliff or anyone who has bought recently: Is the price that is on the scionlife mobilehid link $170 for the digital or analog? ScionJim23 02-24-2009, 03:34 PM correct ^ WiCKD_tC 02-24-2009, 03:41 PM correct ^ Not sure if this was a response to me, but correct for digital or correct for analog. :p 203superwhitetC 02-24-2009, 03:47 PM just installed my 5K conversion kit the other day, but im having a bit of a problem with one of the bulbs. im not quite sure whaat it is. heres a picture of the cut off. note the black line on the right side: http://i40.tinypic.com/909klk.jpg ScionJim23 02-24-2009, 03:59 PM correct ^ Not sure if this was a response to me, but correct for digital or correct for analog. :p correct. they are all digital. cliffud 02-24-2009, 11:12 PM scionjim - thanks for chiming in but sorry to be the bearer of bad news... the digital kits didn't have as much popularity as the heavy duty kits so we've dropped the digital line from our product offering. as far as the benefits of the digital kit - yes, it was great in just about every respect but the heavy duty kit just seemed to be the crowd favorite in terms of overall sales so it's what we've decided to offer. 203 superwhite - that little bar looks like it's the return line on the bulb that runs alongside the bulb itself. i wouldn't worry about it much because you really notice it on the ground. ScionJim23 02-24-2009, 11:55 PM Cliff...that news about digital ballasts makes me sad :( . I thought they would sell great. I love mine. Do you still offer the digital ballast though if someone who currently has one goes bad or becomes defective under warranty? WiCKD_tC - sorry I gave the wrong info. My bad. I thought they were all digital now. cliffud 02-24-2009, 11:58 PM scionjim - yep, taking care of the customers who purchased the digital ballasts in the past 6 months was already taken care of. There are boxes of these digital ballasts in stock to support you guys under warranty. ScionJim23 02-25-2009, 12:05 AM sweetness....You the man Cliff. marx_tc602 02-25-2009, 12:54 AM hey cliff, my HIDs went off last night. I check the fuses and they are all good, i checked my HIDs with blacktrdtc half n hour ago, and the ballasts didn't nor bulbs worked. if you can contact me at 602 373 2063, id be more than happy to meet up anywhere after 10 pm today, or tomorrow at whatever time. thanks 203superwhitetC 02-25-2009, 02:42 AM 203 superwhite - that little bar looks like it's the return line on the bulb that runs alongside the bulb itself. i wouldn't worry about it much because you really notice it on the ground. but how come its only showing up on one bulb rather than both? cliffud 02-25-2009, 06:53 AM 203 - the return line is probably positioned in a different area on the left headlight. marx_tc - I'll give you a call tomorrow. :) it's 1am now and I'm sure you'd be ____ed at me. 203superwhitetC 02-25-2009, 03:33 PM 203 - the return line is probably positioned in a different area on the left headlight. no its in the same position because you can see it if you look AT the headlights as well. and i can see it on the ground, its not terrible but it is a little bit distracting. anyway i can fix this? cliffud 02-26-2009, 12:34 AM 203, not sure if you can fix it really. if the bulb is in the same position as the bulb in the other headlight, sounds like it's just a headlight design issue. :( 203superwhitetC 02-26-2009, 02:27 AM haha its okay i can see much better! if the problem persists or gets worse ill order another bulb. however, i feel like the bulb that is showing the return line is not as bright as the other either. maybe i scrathed the bulb when i put it in? im not sure but i made sure i was careful. ScionJim23 02-26-2009, 03:43 AM try switching the driver and passenger side bulbs to see if the line moves the the driver side. masterbB 02-26-2009, 09:24 PM just ordered mine! 203superwhitetC 02-26-2009, 10:34 PM so i switched the bulbs. i have 3 problems. the line is on the other side now, and the cutoff is screwy and one bulb isnt as bright. i really feel like i should just get 2 new bulbs :/ 203superwhitetC 02-27-2009, 12:09 AM so i adjusted the headlights and things are MUCH better now however, that ONE bulb is still not as bright as the other. i wonder why. :/ cliffud 03-02-2009, 03:02 PM 203, can you swap the bulbs from side to side to see if the "dim" bulb moves from one side to the next? thanks! Clifford ScionJim23 03-02-2009, 03:14 PM I sort of have the same issue. my passenger bulb is more "yellowish" than my driver one. You can't notice it looking head on or on the road but if im near a white garage door I can tell. Doesn't bother me since its not noticeable anywhere but on a white background at night. I swapped sides with the bulb to the driver side also...thats How i found mine was the bulb. Very hard to tell though on mine unless your anal about it and really looking when the light is against a wall. like I said, looking head on, it looks super white and you can't tell the difference. No biggie. It seem like it happened to me more in the cold weather. I just turned them off and back on and they would light up. I went back and heat shrinked the plugs to get rid of the electrical tape and it has been fine since then. But I just did that a few days ago so I haven't had it done for a long time. jaytrey 03-03-2009, 04:23 PM ok...just making sure that they are not faulty. That's a relief. Is that common then? that they won't fire up becaues it's too cold. i do have mine in elec tape, is shrink wrap a better idea? 09tC_CB7 03-03-2009, 04:29 PM I have read about some HID kits having one bulb not lighting up all the time every now and then. I don't know why. I am sure someone here would know. Electrical tape will probably fail after a while with all the heat and cold. Which can allow water to get in. Heat shrinking is probably the best route. It cost me about $40 to do it. $32 for the heat gun at the hardware store and $2 for tubing. I bought 1" tubing and had to stretch it to get it over the plug. It also made it look way nicer. jaytrey 03-03-2009, 04:31 PM hey...where in md are you located? im in ellicott city 09tC_CB7 03-03-2009, 04:34 PM Bethesda, MD. jaytrey 03-03-2009, 04:40 PM shiet...that's kinda far away. hahah maybe i'll catch u on 495 JrTcs 03-04-2009, 02:08 AM nice hids JrTcs 03-04-2009, 02:08 AM nice hids cliffud 03-05-2009, 12:26 AM It cost me about $40 to do it. $32 for the heat gun at the hardware store and $2 for tubing. I'm always up for customer suggestions - one female customer suggested we include latex gloves with the kits so you guys/gals won't get your hands dirty and now we do it. :) For the customers with bulbs that have diff colors - please send me a PM with a pic of what you're noticing and some order info. By far the shrink wrap tubing is that way to do it. Those plugs are not coming apart anytime soon now in my car. ScionJim23 03-05-2009, 05:14 PM Luckily I already used heatshrink on mine. works great. I had electrical tape but the cold air cracked it. Anyways, it would be a great idea to start selling the stuff. maximthegreat 03-05-2009, 05:25 PM can someone please explain to me where this heat shrink tubing goes? 09tC_CB7 03-05-2009, 05:37 PM can someone please explain to me where this heat shrink tubing goes? I put it over the OEM low beam light bulb plug and the Mobile HID Plug. The Mobile HID plug doesn't have a clip so most people use electrical tape to keep them from coming apart and moisture out. . ScionJim23 03-05-2009, 06:03 PM bingo^. I used it wherever the two harnesses plugged into each other so it was sealed right up. cliffud 03-06-2009, 12:50 AM good call guys. I'll look into offering heat shrink tubing for the kits going forward. :) btw - there's a sale on kits now... ;) c. tkanaz 03-06-2009, 03:54 AM Bump for the best customer service on the planet! Thanks Cliff iocca 03-07-2009, 03:08 AM hey cliff, i met up with u at in and out a month or 2 ago about one of my ballasts being out. my other one is now flickering and turning off, im selling my car sunday or monday and i told the lady i would have them fixed before i sold it to her, any way i can meet up with u this weekend to get it resolved? cliffud 03-07-2009, 04:22 AM sure man, give me a call tomorrow. i got a wedding to go to but will be free later. iocca 03-07-2009, 04:24 AM i gotta work at 3, ill see if i can get the ballast out before then. then maybe i can meet up with u on my break, you arent going to be by the W on camelback and scottsdale are you? daydr3am 03-08-2009, 05:41 AM Awesome sale!!! 1_kLEan_tC 03-09-2009, 05:32 PM I need some 3k HE blubs shippped to the 94523! THANK YOU! GammaTNT 03-09-2009, 08:55 PM Thank you Cliff, i just got my HID. Going to install it tomorrow. GammaTNT 03-11-2009, 03:01 AM quick question. i have two connectors in the 9600 hid that are not connect to anything. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a156/gammatnt/car%20stuff4/P3100006.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a156/gammatnt/car%20stuff4/P3100007.jpg are they suppose to be like that? 09tC_CB7 03-11-2009, 03:23 AM I am confused. Do you have a wire harness? Because that plug with the 2 red wires I have never seen. With the Digital ballasts it goes OEM Head light plug> HID Ballasts> HID Bulb. And the connection from OEM Headlight plug to HiD Ballasts requires electrical tape or heat shrink tubing to keep it together. ScionJim23 03-11-2009, 03:31 AM I believe the above is an analog ballast setup...and that red wire you see is the Fuse. the digital ballasts do not have this. GammaTNT 03-11-2009, 03:38 AM it came with relay. http://www.mobilehid.com/wires.jpg after i connect the realy to the battery, ballast, and one of the OEM headlight plug. Then i connect the ballast to the light bulb. But i got 2 connectors form the bulb with nothing to plug to. Am i doing something wrong?? but it turns on. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a156/gammatnt/car%20stuff4/P3100008.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a156/gammatnt/car%20stuff4/P3100011.jpg 09tC_CB7 03-11-2009, 03:51 AM Yeah, (Well I think since I am not running a wire harness) The wire harness overrides the headlight plugs. The point is that you don't pull the power from your OEM wire harness which isn't made for that load. So instead you are pulling it through your wire harness. So One of your your OEM headlight plug should be left there unused. (Also look at step 4 with the "*" on it http://www.mobilehid.com/support.htm) I says on headlight plug turns on the HIDs. If they turn on and from what I see you did it right. Enjoy. I hope some one here with this set up can help you more. bbszero 03-11-2009, 04:12 AM So are you not selling the digital anymore? 09tC_CB7 03-11-2009, 01:52 PM He isn't selling digital ones anymore. It was a few pages back that he talked about it. 09tC_CB7 03-12-2009, 03:14 PM Hey Cliffud, Did you get my 2nd PM? redhot_1_0 03-12-2009, 11:13 PM hi, do you have H7 bulbs? DarkBoxJr 03-13-2009, 09:56 PM I need a replacement pair of 9003/H4 bulbs, however, I don't really need the halogen high beam. Is there another type of bulb that will work in place of the 9003? Also, frowny face for 6000k 9003s not being on sale. :( cliffud 03-14-2009, 08:51 AM gammaTNT - those extra 9006 style plugs were left in with the kit so you can use them to extend the length of the harness to reach your ballasts or do a direct connection (which is what our farming customers do). :) just use the harness and you can remove those extra 9006 plugs if they get in the way. 09tc- yep - pm'd you back. redhot- sure do - what do you need bud? darkbox - H4 = 9003... not sure what you mean - they're part of the sale. :) http://www.mobilehid.com/scionlife.htm Thanks all! Clifford AAG 03-14-2009, 11:39 AM Hey Cliff do you have any h11 4300k bulbs in stock. The 5000k just aren't doing it for me anymore  DarkBoxJr 03-14-2009, 06:24 PM darkbox - H4 = 9003... not sure what you mean - they're part of the sale. :) http://www.mobilehid.com/scionlife.htm I just needed the bulbs, not the entire kit. Went ahead and ordered the 6000K H4s. Another question: I installed your 3000K 9006 kit a few days ago and it seems that one bulb is a deeper yellow than the other. Is this normal? GammaTNT 03-15-2009, 09:22 PM gammaTNT - those extra 9006 style plugs were left in with the kit so you can use them to extend the length of the harness to reach your ballasts or do a direct connection (which is what our farming customers do). :) just use the harness and you can remove those extra 9006 plugs if they get in the way. Clifford Thanks for the reply, I am enjoying the HID . ryuji16 03-15-2009, 11:19 PM i ordered a digital kit before the holidays last year and gave it as a gift to my brother. he hasnt installed it yet, but upon further inspection of the entire kit i noticed that it didnt come with any brackets and hardware like the analog kit does. were they supposed to come with some kind of bracket to mount the ballast or is there another way im supposed to mount these? and also there arent wires running to the battery like the analog kit. basically, if someone has a minute, can i get an explanation on the differences between the analog and digital kits or maybe just link me to where i can read up on this. thanks! GammaTNT 03-15-2009, 11:36 PM take the box apart. my brackets were between the box and the plastic thing cliffud 03-16-2009, 01:52 AM AAG - yup, you can pick up the h11 4300k bulbs here: http://www.mobilehid.com/scionlife.htm I always say I like the 4300k bulbs over the 5k because of the sheer light output. Yeah, there may not be a huge difference in color but you can really tell a difference sitting behind the wheel. :) You'll like the 4300k bulbs. darkboxjr - really? diff color 3k bulbs? pm me a pic if you can so i can see what's up. ryuji - sounds like you have one of the digital kits that used to be offered. the installation is really simple on those - just plug one end of the ballast to the bulbs, then the other plug goes to the OEM plugs. here's a link to the key differences: http://mobilehid.com/slimmy.jpg I was hoping they were going to be hot sellers but nope- everyone loves the heavy duty ones due to the price difference and because of the hammer video. thanks! c. iocca 03-16-2009, 02:32 AM hey cliff, i sent u a text message earlier about some 6000k for my new lexus, any chance i can meet up with you tomorrow and pick some lights up? ryuji16 03-16-2009, 04:30 AM thanks cliff. i dont know why they wouldnt sell, to me these are much cooler, less wiring, looks like a much easier install and better to fit in tighter spaces. when i saw them, i immediately got jealous and contemplated buying a whole new set to replace my analogs. AND theyre waterproof just like the analogs. to me its win-win-win. cliffud 03-16-2009, 05:57 AM iocca- txted you back man. congrats on the new ride. ryuji16 - yep, i thought they were going to be win/win/win too. oh well. ryuji16 03-17-2009, 02:42 AM one last thing cliff, was there supposed to be some kind of mounting hardware and/or bracket that came with these digital kits? 09tC_CB7 03-17-2009, 03:43 AM one last thing cliff, was there supposed to be some kind of mounting hardware and/or bracket that came with these digital kits? I didn't get any, I used 3m Industrial Velcro strips. Picked them up at the hardware store. Still working, no problems with them breaking free. Or, you can use the zip ties or bolt them some where with the mounting holes. masterbB 03-23-2009, 12:45 AM send me a pm cliff SSH_Motorsport 03-23-2009, 04:46 AM shipped to 19720 cliffud 03-23-2009, 07:10 PM 140 shipped- big sale now! Just1n 05-13-2009, 09:28 PM bump for my man cliffy! cliffud 05-13-2009, 10:33 PM Hey cliffud, i need to get 4300k h7 bulbs for the 2004 mini cooper s, I had bought the h11 kit from you not too long ago, i dont need a new harness or anything right? Yeah, your old harness will work but you'll need some t-tap clips in order for you to tap into the low beam plug. I can include a pair of those so you don't have to spend an extra $20 for the harness. Just paypal $60 to sales@mobilehid.com with a note about the h7 4300k bulbs and t-tap connections and I'll make sure they get sent out. Thanks. Clifford 203superwhitetC 05-14-2009, 02:04 AM cliff my bulbs are still flickering when i go over bumps, even worse now that i have coilovers :[ help! RoundBox 05-15-2009, 12:14 AM Hi Cliff, I am having the same problem with a bulb flicker while driving too. I followed some of the diagnostics I've seen from past posts and determined it is a bulb problem. The flickering only happens on one side and when I swapped the bulbs, the flickering followed. What do I need to do to get a replacement bulb? Thanks SilverTc06 05-16-2009, 02:15 PM cliff whats your paypal id so i can send you the money for those relays mattieg 05-18-2009, 08:07 PM Cliff I got my bulb, thank you so much. I just got my other friend a relay for his girlfriends kit that I installed cause that went bad. Im thinking about picking up some di-electrical grease for the relay. 203superwhitetC 05-21-2009, 07:29 PM it looks as if the relay is fine! ive had somei ssues with this kit since the begning but kind of ignored them at the cutoff, theres like 3 different colors around the return line shadow if you drive up close to a wall. one bulb is fine. the other is just all messed up and flickers. maybe ill just man up an order some new bulbs :/ marx_tc602 05-22-2009, 05:15 PM hey cliff, i was wondering what hid kit is used for my 2004 mercedes c230 sport sedan? thanks.
