Do you mean they color shifted? I got the same problem, my 5000k were perfect when they were brand new, but have since color shifted and are too blue for me. Reason I'm wanting 4300k now because they should look just like (or close to) a brand new 5000k once they color shift.

One thing though, Cliff..

Luckily, the guy who installed my HIDs (Doc. I) had an extra set of actual H11 wires (don't know what they are called). The ones that came in the box didn't have it's clip thing and wouldn't stay connected unless it was zipped-tied. But Doc. I had an extra one that actually had a tag that said H11 on it.. and the one that came in the box didn't have the tag at all??

So we used the one included in the box first and the light kept flickering on and off.. then suddenly Doc. I remembered he had an extra set.. (luckily for me)

So my concern was.. what happened, cliff? How come you sent me a cable extending harness thing that was cut and didn't have its connecting clip?

Yeah, sorry bud, they all have to be modified in order to fit inside the H11 OEM plug because the OEM plug is too small. Believe me, it would be nice if we didn't have to modify them all but it's a little extra TLC that's packed in each kit along with some rubber gloves so your hands don't get dirty... :)

Yeah he still has analog. On the regular site its selling for 180 and digital for 225. I just want to hear from him or someone that actually bought a digital or 170. Just gotta make sure before i spend my money on something i already have.

the 170 discounted price HID is the digital. I got a set 4 months ago, no problem at all, fast start up and bright!

My only problem was a had rotate a plug around 180 degrees (reverse polarity) then they fired right up. Also saw spots for a few hours because I didn't expect it to fire up and I was looking at the bulb. User error. But I have had mine since black friday and they are still working great!

Just ordered the 4300K, can't wait!

Wow this thread has exploded, since i ordered HID's from cliff. But anyway i just wanted to give a bump for cliff because of the great customer service.

I just had a problem few days ago. I messaged cliff he fixed the problem in 2 minutes, no questions asked. Service cant get any better than that.

Hi guys- yeah, they're 35w for the heavy duty kit.

I wish I could make things up for the Scion_Tuner guy but he happened to buy bulbs by themselves and not as part of a kit so they shipped out without any modification to interface with our harness because some people simply buy bulbs to add to other kits.

Start on step 5 or as I mentioned in PM, you can send them in for modification if you want/need.

scionjim - thanks for chiming in but sorry to be the bearer of bad news... the digital kits didn't have as much popularity as the heavy duty kits so we've dropped the digital line from our product offering.

as far as the benefits of the digital kit - yes, it was great in just about every respect but the heavy duty kit just seemed to be the crowd favorite in terms of overall sales so it's what we've decided to offer.

203 superwhite - that little bar looks like it's the return line on the bulb that runs alongside the bulb itself. i wouldn't worry about it much because you really notice it on the ground.

Cliff...that news about digital ballasts makes me sad :( . I thought they would sell great. I love mine. Do you still offer the digital ballast though if someone who currently has one goes bad or becomes defective under warranty?

I check the fuses and they are all good, i checked my HIDs with blacktrdtc half n hour ago, and the ballasts didn't nor bulbs worked. if you can contact me at 602 373 2063, id be more than happy to meet up anywhere after 10 pm today, or tomorrow at whatever time. thanks

no its in the same position because you can see it if you look AT the headlights as well.
and i can see it on the ground, its not terrible but it is a little bit distracting. anyway i can fix this?

203, not sure if you can fix it really. if the bulb is in the same position as the bulb in the other headlight, sounds like it's just a headlight design issue. :(

haha its okay i can see much better! if the problem persists or gets worse ill order another bulb. however, i feel like the bulb that is showing the return line is not as bright as the other either. maybe i scrathed the bulb when i put it in? im not sure but i made sure i was careful.

try switching the driver and passenger side bulbs to see if the line moves the the driver side.

so i switched the bulbs. i have 3 problems. the line is on the other side now, and the cutoff is screwy and one bulb isnt as bright. i really feel like i should just get 2 new bulbs :/

so i adjusted the headlights and things are MUCH better now

however, that ONE bulb is still not as bright as the other. i wonder why. :/

I sort of have the same issue. my passenger bulb is more "yellowish" than my driver one. You can't notice it looking head on or on the road but if im near a white garage door I can tell. Doesn't bother me since its not noticeable anywhere but on a white background at night.

I swapped sides with the bulb to the driver side also...thats How i found mine was the bulb. Very hard to tell though on mine unless your anal about it and really looking when the light is against a wall. like I said, looking head on, it looks super white and you can't tell the difference. No biggie. Been working without an issue since Nov.

I had an issue with one bulb going out every now and then. It seem like it happened to me more in the cold weather. I just turned them off and back on and they would light up. I went back and heat shrinked the plugs to get rid of the electrical tape and it has been fine since then. But I just did that a few days ago so I haven't had it done for a long time.

ok...just making sure that they are not faulty. That's a relief.

Electrical tape will probably fail after a while with all the heat and cold. Which can allow water to get in. Heat shrinking is probably the best route.

For the customers with bulbs that have diff colors - please send me a PM with a pic of what you're noticing and some order info. I'll look up your purchases and see if we can get those bulbs swapped under warranty.

I think it would be a good idea, but I would bet that most people wouldn't either use it or wouldn't buy the equipment to do it correctly. By far the shrink wrap tubing is that way to do it. Those plugs are not coming apart anytime soon now in my car.

Luckily I already used heatshrink on mine. works great. I had electrical tape but the cold air cracked it. Anyways, it would be a great idea to start selling the stuff.

I put it over the OEM low beam light bulb plug and the Mobile HID Plug. The Mobile HID plug doesn't have a clip so most people use electrical tape to keep them from coming apart and moisture out. .

bingo^. I used it wherever the two harnesses plugged into each other so it was sealed right up.

i have two connectors in the 9600 hid that are not connect to anything.

I am confused. Do you have a wire harness?
Because that plug with the 2 red wires I have never seen.

With the Digital ballasts it goes OEM Head light plug> HID Ballasts> HID Bulb.

And the connection from OEM Headlight plug to HiD Ballasts requires electrical tape or heat shrink tubing to keep it together.

I believe the above is an analog ballast setup...and that red wire you see is the Fuse. the digital ballasts do not have this.

Yeah, (Well I think since I am not running a wire harness) The wire harness overrides the headlight plugs. The point is that you don't pull the power from your OEM wire harness which isn't made for that load.

So instead you are pulling it through your wire harness. So One of your your OEM headlight plug should be left there unused.

(Also look at step 4 with the "*" on it http://www.mobilehid.com/support.htm)

I says on headlight plug turns on the HIDs.

If they turn on and from what I see you did it right. Enjoy.

I hope some one here with this set up can help you more.

I just needed the bulbs, not the entire kit. Went ahead and ordered the 6000K H4s.

Another question: I installed your 3000K 9006 kit a few days ago and it seems that one bulb is a deeper yellow than the other. Is this normal?

i ordered a digital kit before the holidays last year and gave it as a gift to my brother. he hasnt installed it yet, but upon further inspection of the entire kit i noticed that it didnt come with any brackets and hardware like the analog kit does.

were they supposed to come with some kind of bracket to mount the ballast or is there another way im supposed to mount these?

and also there arent wires running to the battery like the analog kit.

basically, if someone has a minute, can i get an explanation on the differences between the analog and digital kits or maybe just link me to where i can read up on this. thanks!

AAG - yup, you can pick up the h11 4300k bulbs here: http://www.mobilehid.com/scionlife.htm I always say I like the 4300k bulbs over the 5k because of the sheer light output. Yeah, there may not be a huge difference in color but you can really tell a difference sitting behind the wheel. :) You'll like the 4300k bulbs.

I didn't get any, I used 3m Industrial Velcro strips. Picked them up at the hardware store. Still working, no problems with them breaking free. Or, you can use the zip ties or bolt them some where with the mounting holes.

I bought a 2009 Scion xB in January and after looking through this entire topic and doing extensive research on an HID upgrade I've finally bought a kit from MobileHID. It looks like you do fantastic work Cliff to deliver the best quality kit. I love that it's on sale for $140 as of now so I decided what the hell I'll get the best at the best price. I chose 4300k for its performance in an all weather scenario. I'll make sure to deliver some feedback after I've had them for about a week.

btw - warranty is for 1 year now. :) usually if anything goes wrong - it's within the first year so don't worry. even the ballast that was getting hammered in the video is still running!

in fact, here are some pics of a ballast that dropped out of a single turbo'd GS300 putting down over 700hp, it was dragged on the street, then got run over by 700hp monster and then 4-5 cars after it.

It kind of looks like a strobe light haha. It is pretty distracting to other drivers and I need to get this problem fixed. I just dont know what is wrong with it. Let me know what you think and if I need to pick up a new pair of bulbs I will. Again I love the bulbs, just need to get this issue fixed. PM me asap if you can.

I'm not an HID expert or anything but just check your wiring. Swap your ballasts over and see if the problem goes to the other side. Try to narrow the problem down so when cliff gets back to you he'll know exactly what you need whether it is the bulb, harness or ballast. GL bro!

sounds like an issue with the ballast power or bulb wires. can you wiggle the lights when the lights are on and see if you can recreate the problem while at a standstill? Let me know what's going on and I'll get you covered man...

please swap the bulbs from side to side to see if the issue follows the bulb. if it does, we'll need to you get you a new bulb, if it doesn't - possibly a ballast issue.

over time the bulbs may get weaker as they age. how old are your bulbs? unlike halogen bulbs that suddenly die when they begin to fail, HID bulbs will continue to shine but become dimmer towards the end of their life.

Is this a MobileHID kit? If so, let's get this thing covered under warranty.

Re: radio interference - haven't heard of any issues on the tC however I do have some radio interference blockers. I can send out a pair with your replacement bulb.

maybe loose connection somewhere? maybe a hairline fracture in your fuse? maybe a corroded relay?

:( please check the wiring setup and lemme know if you see any corrosion on the relay or issues with your fuse.

Update on my lights. The relay is still good and the connections are great. But my passenger light still flickers and is now becoming more dim and whiter. Please help me out cliff!

Yeah, your old harness will work but you'll need some t-tap clips in order for you to tap into the low beam plug. I can include a pair of those so you don't have to spend an extra $20 for the harness.

Sorry bud, had to attend a graduation over the past few days.

sounds like you have a hairline fracture in a fuse or a power issue somewhere - perhaps a bad relay? can you check out your relays to see if they have corrosion?

lol i could never use my radio at night. I have the avic-d3 and tried everything from moving the ballast to making a new ground for the radio.

ive had somei ssues with this kit since the begning but kind of ignored them

at the cutoff, theres like 3 different colors around the return line shadow if you drive up close to a wall. one bulb is fine. the other is just all messed up and flickers. maybe ill just man up an order some new bulbs :/

How is the installation different as oppose to a tc?
