good news guys. i ran down to the dhl office yesterday and was able to pick up the shipment. you should be getting your kits by tuesday or wednesday. everything except for 50 watt kits were shipped out yesterday.
50 watt kits are due here by the end of the month. I'll include a special gift with the 50 watt kits since those of you who have ordered them have to wait another couple of weeks.
SWEEEET....i'm going to refer you to a buncha my friends...hopefully you can look forward to more business from the Tampa Bay Area.
N-Dawg 01-21-2007, 09:25 PM thanks Cliff.

,i know people say they arent as bright in person , but its not always true , i have seen them that blue from all angles, and also heard they get bluer over time[/img]
Blacktop-Xb 01-22-2007, 01:35 PM Whats the free gift with the 50 watt kits? if i may know...
cliffud 01-22-2007, 03:32 PM joey- yeah, that looks to be about 8k. i had a set in my car for a bit but went back to the 4300k since I like a whiter light.
blacktop - it's a special surprise for the people who have ordered 50 watt kits. :) i'll pm you the details.
N-Dawg 01-22-2007, 04:35 PM Joeyguy is that a picture of your car with Cliff's 8K? I thought those look more like 10K.
Bossman 01-22-2007, 07:43 PM clifford, what's the status with the demo bulbs your sending me? thanks for the heads up.
joeyguy112 01-23-2007, 02:48 AM n-dawg, no thats not my car, thatts another members car, i have yet to post my blacked and blue tc yet, waitning for rims, but if that what 10000k is then thats the answer im lookn for, i want mine to be bright blue from all angles, not just from the far front view
Setarcos4131 01-23-2007, 02:56 AM I can't believe I got my kit today...one day from AZ to FL? Thanks Cliff for the fast shipment.
N-Dawg 01-23-2007, 04:26 PM Cliff, You the Man! I picked up my Kit from the post office this morning. They tried delivering yesterday, but nobody was home to sign for it. The kits look great. I have one small question, I was so excited I had to open the box in the Post office parking lot, I looked through everything and one thing caught my eye, the HID bulb has four wires, I thought only two needed to be connected to the ballast. What are the other two for(Red & Black cables with a connector on one end and the split wires on the other)? Can you help me out? I want to install this kit asap, thanks.
cliffud 01-23-2007, 04:46 PM n-dawg- yup - only two wires need to plug into the ballast.
those extra wires aren't needed. they allow you to hook up the HID kit w/o using the extra wiring harness (not recommended).
:)
Good luck and take photos!!
N-Dawg 01-23-2007, 04:59 PM Cool Cool. Thanks man. Seriously, great to do busniess with you. I'll post pics as soon as I install, peace out.
cliffud 01-23-2007, 10:51 PM Thanks for the positive feedback bro.
FYI

Hahaha awesome Cliff, I really appreciate how much you go outta ur way man, I really do...by far the best customer-business relationship I've ever had dealing with anything in my life really...more businessmen should be like yourself. Also I went ahead and just finished up the install not to long ago and the lights are ABSOLUTELY amazing....very easy installation as far as it being plug and play, the only thing I had any trouble with was making some holes in the radiator shroud to run my passenger side harness for the zip ties...idk if other scion owners are doing it this way but I found myself with great clearance and convenience...Also thanks for the Super fast shipping..I was expecting to get it today actually and I got it on Monday...Take care and I wish ya the best with you business, and you will definately be hearing from a lot of my friends in the near future.
Very Satisfied Scionlife member,
-Justin
For those of you interested in this kit I would highly recommend it. I picked mine up yesterday and it took me about 30 minutes to install. Here are some pics of before and after and of the product itself. I even have my front headlights smoked and the light output is still awesome. I went for the 8000K kit. These pics were taken in my garage. I have yet been able to see how they look at night, but I am sure they are perfect.
I got my 6000k hid kit from you a couple of days ago and i am so happy it is the best not just because of the price...I am running thick tint on my headlights and they are still very bright and has a good cut off for a stock housing......i will post pics in about a week because my g/f took my camera on her trip......Not only are the hids that good but clifford will take care of all your questions and unlike many people that sell hids he knows what he is talking about.......thanks
Cliff, my HIDs arrived a couple of days ago, and I must say, the install was simple, and they work great. Guys, this guy is where it's at. His customer service is great, as well as his product.
Also, I'm still interested in a set of HIDs for my wife's 4 runner, I'll email you later this week about them.
All I have to say is OH MY FREAKING GWAD. Thats just the shipping. I think I ordered these saturday and to my surpise there here already!! Super easy to install. Almost went in by themselves. Compeletly awsome!!
yo cliff, hell of a bussinessman , got mine two days after ordering saturday, cant wait to get'em installed, 8000's on my blacked out tc's gonna be rediculous, post picks eventually, thanks again
dugzilla 01-25-2007, 02:17 AM I've got to say that the customer service can't be beat. Thanks for the help Cliff!
tikbhoy 01-25-2007, 05:25 AM i ordered also but it went on a integra.

jonathan110987 01-25-2007, 05:50 AM hey cliff when i get my tax return i think ima order another set for some fogs. i have to buy the fogs first tho.
im very happy with my kit and ur customer service. ive recommended everyone to u.
808scion 01-25-2007, 06:42 AM Hey cliff , i figured out how to hook them up. is it normal that during start up of the HIDs my radio cuts off for a second?? i'll post pics soon....to tired from washing, and installing the HIDs
808scion 01-25-2007, 06:44 AM One more question, how much would it be for a 6000k ballast. i like the 4300k because it draws less popo attention, but i may wnat the 6000k as well...lmk
808scion 01-25-2007, 06:44 AM One more question, how much would it be for a 6000k ballast. i like the 4300k because it draws less popo attention, but i may want the 6000k as well...lmk
cliffud 01-25-2007, 07:05 AM 808 - whoa - totally not normal for your radio to cut off for a second... how did you hook up the kit? send me pics to sales@mobilehid.com
also - the ballast isn't what really dictates the color of the bulb - it's all in the bulb. if you want a diff set of bulbs - they're $65 shipped. just includes the bulb type/temp in the notes when you send the funds.
thanks cliff! i recieved my shipment.
Shorty 01-25-2007, 05:34 PM Hey Cliff pm`d you back.
808scion 01-25-2007, 05:46 PM jus checked my setup, the radio doesn't actually cutoff, i can jus hear like a interferace noise for a second through my speakers once i turn on the lights. sending pics now
N-Dawg 01-25-2007, 08:53 PM PM'd you Cliff.
cliffud 01-26-2007, 03:05 PM n-dawg- let's see those lights in the solara! :)
808 - are you sharing your HID kit ground with an existing ground connection? just curious.
jonathan - thanks for the praise man - it's a lot of work but it's well worth it when I see you guys all happy about your lights.
fyi - all 35 watt kits have shipped. 50 watt kits are still on schedule for early next week.
thanks everyone.
dugzilla 01-26-2007, 03:12 PM Cliff, did my bulb get out?
Thanks
cliffud 01-26-2007, 03:49 PM doug- yep. you should have received it either yesterday or today. look for a big box.
i didn't have any 'single' 6k bulbs so I sent you the new type with the high beam built in. hooking up the high beam is optional.
eyegiantjackpot 01-26-2007, 04:43 PM hey cliff, you get my return package? any word on when i should be receiving the new one?
thanks
mike
cliffud 01-26-2007, 05:21 PM Mike you'll have it shortly. Sorry for the wait, when you get a chance, please check your e-mail.
Thanks.

ScionGolf 01-29-2007, 06:29 AM Can you ground the kit onto the negative on the battery?
cliffud 01-29-2007, 06:52 AM sciongolf- i guess technically you could - but i wouldn't suggest it. would you do the same to your sub amplifier?
n-dawg- h7, nope- none in stock but if you want, i'll have my manufacturer send me a set.
stillmotion 01-30-2007, 05:07 AM i cant wait for my 50 watts! keep us posted!
_NeXuS_ 01-30-2007, 06:26 AM Hey will your harness work with HID cool conversion kit im planing to order one once i get my kit :D.
Thanks.
cliffud 01-30-2007, 06:32 AM _Nexus_
Yes, it will work with their kit. I did testing with many HID kits to ensure the wiring harness would work with many types.
Wiring harnesses are $20 shipped. Please send funds to sales@mobilehid.com
The harnesses will work with the following:

IcetC 01-31-2007, 05:20 PM Hi do you guys sell like a package deal because i want to do a package deal because i want to get either 6k or 8k HIDS for the headlights and i'm getting the oem scion fog lights and i want to do like a 3k HID fog kit please let me know thanks
cliffud 01-31-2007, 05:59 PM Hi IcetC,
I ship out the kits individually since that's the easiest to keep shipping down while keeping ship times quick. I need to warn you about the 3k lights. They do not mimic the Lexus fog light yellow. They are more like the yellow lights that you'd see on the European race circuit. It's a lighter yellow, not ugly like halogen, but definitely a lighter/happier yellow.
From all my research, I've come to the conclusion that it's just about impossible to mimic that Lexus fog light yellow with just bulbs, you'll need to get a yellow capsule that fits over the bulb. (it doesn't touch the bulb, it's just a small yellow housing)
Just so you know when searching for these capsules, the tC foglights will need a 9006 bulb.
Thanks for the inquiry.
IcetC 01-31-2007, 06:04 PM Thanks, when i do decide to get them i'm going to put a yellow overlay on the lights anyway but do you also sell the 3k kit for the fogs?
cliffud 01-31-2007, 06:19 PM icetc- yep - I have the 3k kits. depending on the shade of yellow overlays, you might want to go with 4300k. it really just depends on how dark you want the yellow.
MisterKe 01-31-2007, 08:57 PM Gonna have to put my tic in second place again and order an h1 set for the wife. Our monthly is coming up. It would be an awesome gift.
cliffud 02-01-2007, 07:04 AM All special order kits have shipped.
MisterKe- yours is also in the mail.
MisterKe 02-01-2007, 07:59 PM Much appreciated sir. Great valentines day gift for both of us. She get's HIDs and I get to play with her prelude. win - win situation. She works afternoons and doesn't get out until midnight. The stock headlights for the prelude are aweful and I will feel a lot better if she had better lighting on her way home at night. Thanks again.
Blacktop-Xb 02-01-2007, 08:15 PM where can you get those yellow overlays cliff?
cliffud 02-01-2007, 09:44 PM I did some research guys and it looks like you can get them at hidtech.com. They're relatively cheap but I e-mailed them and they haven't e-mailed back so maybe it's a dead site now.
I have another resource but the cost on them is ridiculously high. So high that I totally disregarded the site since I didn't think anyone would actually buy them. if I remember the site, I'll post it up for you guys.
misterke- you didn't tell me they were going in a prelude - cool! here's a tip if you have a 97+ prelude - use some mother's billet polish on the headlights, they tend to fade and get hazy after a while - if you rub in some of the mother's billet compound it'll clear them right up and look new.
c.
MisterKe 02-01-2007, 10:15 PM Awesome info man. I'll get on it ASAP. Her lude is a 2001 and the headlights are hazy. One got a yellowish tint on them already. Didn't know if that was common. We've been trying to figure out cost effective ways to clear it up but to no avail. Damn your good at this lighting stuff. Hats off to you sir.
cliffud 02-01-2007, 10:47 PM no problem misterke
here's the stuff you'll want to use:
http://www.mothers.com/products/productcatalog/productpix/05106.jpg
I was skeptical before when a buddy of mine told me to use it on my headlamps since I had JUST used it to polish my wheels but I gave it a try and it worked A LOT faster than using Meguirs PlastX.
:) Good luck and thanks for your business.
micaxB 02-02-2007, 03:05 AM Wiring harnesses still $20?
cliffud 02-02-2007, 08:27 AM MicaxB - yes, wire harnesses are still $20. nice wheels.
micaxB 02-02-2007, 11:35 AM this harness would work on my hi/lo beam hids? (hi -halogen)
cliffud 02-02-2007, 02:09 PM MicaxB- the wire harness will help you power your HID lows. The H4 kits that I send out have a high halogen beam that needs to be connected to the original plug. It takes some modification of the kit since it is made to work without the harness as an option. I don't recommend powering ballasts through the factory wiring though.
For more information on how the slight mods check out my write up here:
http://www.mobilehid.com/h4.htm
Thanks.
Clifford
aznpimp 02-03-2007, 12:10 AM so is it $170 shipped including a relay harness for a H3 3000k kit ? thanks
Yeahdoug 02-03-2007, 01:43 AM Just placed an order... I appreciate the hook-up.
cliffud 02-03-2007, 07:08 AM aznpimp- yes. $170 shipped! includes relay and fuse wired inline directly to your battery. the only thing your factory wiring does is trigger the relay so you have ZERO risk of burning out a plug. :)
Wire harnesses are the ONLY WAY TO GO.
I was bored so I checked out some pink bulbs in the GS. What do you guys think?
If you guys are interested, I'll have my manufacturer send me a bunch. Right now all I have are the 9006 bulbs in this color. Sorry xB and xA owners.
http://www.mobilehid.com/pink1.jpg
darkalice 02-03-2007, 07:19 AM where do u guys mount the ballast? does it come with a bracket cause i didn't get one or see any
cliffud 02-03-2007, 07:43 AM dark alice - pull up the inner lining of the box - you'll see the mounting brackets underneath. :)
darkalice 02-03-2007, 07:52 AM oh hahaah funny i used alot of zip tie, thanks cliffud!! ur product and customer service is great
cliffud 02-03-2007, 08:01 AM :) thanks for the kind praise man.
so it sounds like i wasn't the only person installing HIDs at 1am. haha
dugzilla 02-03-2007, 11:35 AM Wow! how fast would you get pulled over with those bulbs? They look kinda cool though.
Bossman 02-03-2007, 05:20 PM he cliff, I got your message....sorry I haven't been able to return the call yet. I have today off so that means im going to catch up on my classes. But my guess is you were going to talk to me about the new 3k bulbs?
aznpimp 02-03-2007, 08:00 PM got H3 3k kits in stock ?
ScionGolf 02-04-2007, 03:52 AM Great product! I installed it without any problem.
Great Customer Service! Always answered my questions within 24-48 hours.
BTW I grounded the kit at the battery tied down. There is a long silver metal bar that connect the battery tied down to the frame of the tC. I unscrewed the bar, looped the ground wire onto the bar and screwed the bolt back on. Is this a safe place of grounding the kit?
MisterKe 02-04-2007, 05:55 AM The kit is awesome on the prelude. My wife loves it and she says thank you. but there were some minor snags because of the car's headlamps and not the kit.
The H1 set up are just a PITA. We first tried to plug and play but the stock clips wont keep it in place. Then we tried using the dust boots to keep the bulbs in place. but the only thing that did was prevent the bulb from being placed all the way in the lamp. After toying with it for a long time, we manage to get it to stay using the spongey thing that came on the bulbs.
She loves how bright the road is now and I feel better knowing that she can see at night. And the Mother's billet Pollisher is the dookie. It even took off the rust stains that were impossible to get off. The apartments we lived in had really bad sprinklers and sprayed all over the front end. She tried the pollisher on it and it worked. She's happy which makes me happy. Thanks MobileHID, you're the best.
jonathan110987 02-04-2007, 05:57 AM hey cliff i was wondering how much a set of 12,000k bulbs are? i jsut want some violet bulbs for shows...
cliffud 02-05-2007, 08:45 AM Hi All-
Bossman- yep, I'll give you a call tomorrow.
Aznpimp- Yes, I believe so however what I've found and other members have found is that although the 3k is the RIGHT color temp - the lumen output is just so intense that it appears to be on the lighter side of 3k. Meaning it will look like the GT euorpean racing circuit yellow lights that they use at night.
Here are some pics:
http://www.cliffud.com/cl/fog3.jpg
http://www.cliffud.com/cl/fog6.jpg
Sciongolf - glad to hear they went in with ease. The ground should be fine but when I install them, I usually find a ground from the fender bolt or nearby. Post some pics!
MisterKe - glad the wife loves the lights. the H1 kits are always a little difficult to mount since the bulbs are so tiny. I installed a set into my friend's LX470 and his H1 bulbs were a pain because of the same rubber boot issue. We ended up leaving off the boots. Also, glad the Mother's billet polish worked out well!
Jonathan - if you want just the bulbs: $65 shipped. Lemme know man!
Thanks all - let's see some pics!
Clifford
aznpimp 02-05-2007, 10:22 AM hmmm, it doesnt look like real yellow at @3k at all .. is that what u have ? every brand of hid kit shows different light output
cliffud 02-05-2007, 10:49 AM no, it's not the same as the lexus fog light yellow found on the is300 cars. it's lighter.
Blacktop-Xb 02-05-2007, 11:44 AM Hey cliff any pics of the 55watt yet?

Erebus 02-05-2007, 08:00 PM Hey Cliff...
I have a few HID kits that are h13 bulbs on my trucks and they don't work with high beams and flicker once in a while. Will your harness stop this?? I have relays on one and It solved the problem but this seems a better way to go since they are all intergrated into the harness.
cliffud 02-05-2007, 08:24 PM Hi Erebus -
Yep, sounds like the common issue people have when the ballast is struggling to get that spike of power from the factory electrical system. Many people think - "oh, my factory wiring can handle it" but then they don't realize there is a 23,000 volt spike coming from their electrical system and that power is going through the car while every other component of the car is struggling for energy as well.
The best solution is the wiring harness that gives the ballasts a direct connection to the battery all your factory electrical system does at that point is switch on or off the relay to send through the power or to shut it down.
Think of the ballasts like car amplifiers, nobody just hooks up an amp to any 12 volt source in the trunk. And likewise with the ballasts - it's best to run a dedicated power wire to the battery.
Hope that helps.
Clifford
Yeahdoug 02-06-2007, 12:33 AM Got my kit super quick. I couldn't wait to install it. I went out in -10 degree weather and installed them in 5 mins. They look great. I just need to aim them a little down tomorrow.

cliffud 02-06-2007, 08:18 AM It was great to talk with you man. I'm glad I was able to help!
I had some people ask about colors for car shows so I took some random photos with random colors... I only suggest that you use these colors for shows...

JoeBus 02-07-2007, 01:53 PM So with the xb I want to keep the high beams...will i have to change the wiring to work with your kit?
JoeBus 02-07-2007, 02:05 PM I know i should have looked in more depth befor posting :loser: do you have any more of the high lows kits in?
cliffud 02-07-2007, 02:36 PM Joebus,
The kit would need a little modification to keep the high beams but it is super easy to do.
I did a "how-to" here: http://www.mobilehid.com/h4.htm
Thanks,
Clifford
JoeBus 02-07-2007, 02:57 PM Cool, i will put my order in later today ;)

All but the 9006 4300k and 6k kits have shipped!!

dugzilla 02-14-2007, 02:33 AM I mounted mine under the stainless panel by the strut tower and the fog ballasts next to the radiator.
bluaeon 02-14-2007, 09:46 PM is this still available cliff?

install was a pain in the rectum but the end effect was well worth it. The wife loves it but you already know that. As seen in this not so great picture that our street has no lights at all and stock halogens just wont cut it.
this is in a 2001 prelude. those of us who have been in one know that the headlights absolutely blow.
picasaweb by google sucks at hosting.
bluaeon 02-15-2007, 06:04 AM ^^ that looks like theres too much glare pointing up... judging by the way the light is hitting the tree on the right and the fence.
cliff: thanks... will be ordering soon. ty
MisterKe 02-15-2007, 06:07 AM you're right on that one. That's before adjustment. Even after adjustments it's still that high. We're thinking the bulb is stuck pointing upwards. We tried to lower the beam as low as we can. But I guess I'll have to mess with it some more.
Foques 02-15-2007, 12:01 PM that is the best kit i've seen so far.
Highly recommend.
Tentotsu 02-15-2007, 12:41 PM am also thinking of getting them but i got to save up for them
Blacktop-Xb 02-15-2007, 03:12 PM Hey cl9iff you havent replied my pm....wanted to know if my order was sent out.....thanks
Blacktop-Xb 02-15-2007, 03:12 PM Hey cliff you havent replied my pm....wanted to know if my order was sent out.....thanks
cliffud 02-15-2007, 05:52 PM Hi Eric - yep all orders were sent out. You should receive them either today or tomorrow at the latest.
Thanks for the orders everyone!
Tentotsu 02-15-2007, 06:47 PM hey i have a xa where will i put those ballasts am guessing those are the little boxs also just asking how long will you have this deal
cliffud 02-15-2007, 11:30 PM Tentotsu- I'm not too familiar with the xA engine bay so I can't offer you any good suggestions right now. The kit comes with mounting brackets for the ballasts which can be bolted almost anywhere. The brackets are also bendable so you can definitely hang them on sheet metal like I did in the xB install. They're not going anywhere unless the owner does some 4x4 ramp jumping. :)
Foques 02-16-2007, 12:12 PM hey!! mine didn't come with brackets
cliffud 02-16-2007, 12:40 PM The brackets are located under the tray that holds everything. :) It took me a while to find them too.
Foques 02-16-2007, 02:19 PM lol.. crap...
cliffud 02-16-2007, 07:39 PM FYI: all kits have shipped!

how do i order h1 4.3k ?
scion_tuner 02-17-2007, 07:13 AM PM'ed you!!!!!!!! The kits look nice!
cliffud 02-17-2007, 03:55 PM all pm's answered...
Also - since this question comes up frequently, I decided to post it.
I know the H.I.D kit comes with the proper hardware, but what do you mean when you state,"relay and fuse"?
Good question. Most HID conversion kits on the market require a direct connection from the factory electrical system to the ballast via the factory headlight plug. This type of setup makes the ballast draw power from your factory electrical system. This is not a good thing since the HID bulbs require a 23,000 volt spike of energy when they fire up. You don't want that kind of power draw coming from your factory electrical system because your ballasts are then competing with every other unit that requires power to run.
The relay and fuse wiring harness allows you to connect the ballast directly to your battery and there is a remote turn on switch that connects to your headlight plug. So when you turn on your headlights, a small amount of power is sent to the relay switch which then sends power from the battery to the ballasts. This is the best way to hook up an HID conversion kit since you run zero risk of melting a plug and your ballasts get the power they need without strain.
This dedicated wire that runs from the battery to the ballasts also has a fuse so if for any reason the power draw is beyond what is safe- the fuse will blow. The kit also comes with spare fuses just in case something like this should occur or should you short circuit something during the installation.
Thanks!
Clifford

tikbhoy 02-24-2007, 01:29 AM its for a crv, H1
how soon can u ship it ?
cliffud 02-24-2007, 08:01 PM Hi Norman,
The H1 kit doesn't come with a H1 socket since car manufacturers have different methods of seating H1 bulbs in their housings and often times have a intermediate wire harness or panel that backs the headlight housing. For this reason the H1 kits come with spade connectors for (-) and (+).
I just got done doing an install into a 1997 BMW 540 and it required an H7 kit that had an intermediate plastic piece that kept the bulb in place and I suggested that we keep it but use some tap-in connectors to "splice" into the wires. The connectors didn't really splice into the wires, they simply clipped onto them and provided a female terminal for the spade connector to plug into. You can do the same setup. I wish I took a picture to show you but if you go to Checker Auto or Radio Shack, they will be able to show you what I mean - just ask for a "Tap-in" connector that clips onto a wire - it's almost like splicing w/o all the cutting/stripping/crimping.
Thanks.
Clifford
tikbhoy 02-24-2007, 09:00 PM i dont like using clip ons, i was hoping u wont say that. damn it, im ____ed =p. looks i have no other option.
cliffud 02-25-2007, 04:02 PM That's funny you should say that. The BMW owner preferred to use the clip-ons instead of splicing the wires. All you need to do is provide a 12 volt source to the relay to trigger the HID lights to come on, it doesn't have to be a dedicated wire.
tikbhoy 02-25-2007, 05:30 PM lol clip ons are huge and tacky for me =p its be a soldering gun, shrink tube n a smaller tap to make it look cleaner.
Spiderbox 02-26-2007, 12:00 PM placed my order about 5 minutes ago will it get here before the end of the week?

ichibansf 02-28-2007, 05:01 AM Sorry, I didn't get a chance to take pix till recently. Its been a little while since I've installed the kit. No complaints or high-beams from other drivers whatsoever. Thanks for a great kit, Clifford!!

Ichiban - looks good man! You're welcome!
LittleZeke77 03-01-2007, 12:05 AM Kit just bought!!! Soooo excited!!! This might be a stupid question but is there such thing as HID for high beams?
cliffud 03-01-2007, 12:25 AM littlezeke - since you're local, if you want to meet up, I can bring you your kit tonight. yes some people add HID bulbs for their high beams.
If you want a set for your high beams, I have those in stock as well but it's best to trigger them using a separate switch so your low beams don't go out and you're sitting in the dark at 80mph waiting for your high beams to come on. :)
Scionlife2 03-01-2007, 05:32 AM Are these kits better than JDM ************* I'm looking to get a set but I seems like there's a lot of HID made in China. Where are you kits made from?
501scionxb 03-01-2007, 05:38 AM i will buy one soon as i get my tc.
cliffud 03-01-2007, 08:10 PM Scionlife2 - great question.
I haven't had a chance to review the o-nex.com kit but I have reviewed HID Cool, Goldeneye, Klight, Phlips and out of all of them, only the Philips kit and the kits I sell come with a good wire harness that helps you directly connect the battery to the ballasts.
Here are the leftover boxes from my testing. http://www.mobilehid.com/boxes.jpg
The HID Cool kit actually came mislabeled with the wrong color temp, the Klight brand was fine but it didn't have a wire harness, the Goldeneye ballasts reliablly flickered once 30 seconds after turning them on, and the Philips kit from Xenondepot.com came with bulbs that produced a lot of glare due to the light source on the bulb being constructed out of spec and it emitted light in the wrong location.
As far as the manufacturing location, yes, mine are made in China and I believe most of the other kits offered on here are as well. If you are worried about the quality, don't be. I've been running these kits in my car for fogs and low beams day and night for the past 6 months with no problems. Hundreds of people have picked them up for their vehicles and I think I've had 1 ballast fail. They're easy to install and for the same price as a set of speakers they add a lot to "driver satisfaction".
Thanks.
Clifford
bluaeon 03-02-2007, 02:51 AM Cliff: just got my HID kit today! Thank you!!!!! man i cant wait to install it but its 8pm now... cant decide to either install it today or tomorrow...
ill post pics as soon as i get it installed. Thank you again!
jonnyHKboi 03-03-2007, 06:21 AM $$$ sent tonight!!! also sent a PM regarding my purchase. thanks!
fatboitan 03-04-2007, 02:19 AM i am planning to buy one of cliff kit but i was wondering is the installation hard (never installed anything for a car)?
cliffud 03-04-2007, 02:54 AM fatboitan-
It's way easy. You only have 5 connections to make:
1) red (+) power wire to the battery.
2) black (-) ground to either the negative post on the battery or the frame of the car. If you use the frame of the car, make sure your sand some paint off the area where the metal ground ring can make a good connection to the frame.
3) the turn on lead to the relay that connects to your factory headlight plug.
4) the two connections from the wire harness to your ballasts.
5) the two connections between the ballasts to the light bulbs.
After that- you're all set! :)
To order, please visit the following link:
http://www.mobilehid.com/scionlife.htm
Thanks.
Clifford
fatboitan 03-04-2007, 03:29 AM is there a guide like you just wrote but with pictures? yeah im a compete idiot when it comes to installing stuff...maybe thats why my car is stock =(
cliffud 03-04-2007, 03:37 AM fatboitan, the wire harness in my first post is for a 9006 kit- it's the same harness that you will get with your kit.
jonathan110987 03-04-2007, 06:33 AM bump for awesome customer service and an awesome product. still loving my 6000k hids
comparison from PIAA Extreme White and MobileHID 6000k
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/jo_nathan110987/DSCN2293.jpg
fatboitan 03-04-2007, 01:30 PM which light emit more the 4300 or 6000? and also which looks better
cliffud 03-04-2007, 01:47 PM fatboitan - they both emit the same amount of light however the 6k color temp will be slightly blue and since it will be a little darker, the visible light on the ground will be slightly less. although it will STILL BE TWICE AS BRIGHT, budget yourself to lose 12% of visible light from 4300k to 6k.
tikbhoy 03-04-2007, 07:45 PM i hit a snag with the h1 kit i got from u, i was ready to cut n splice but the h1 hid bulb doesnt clip on. the clip that holds the regular bulb has a wide base for the clip to seat on.
the h1 hid bulb isnt wide enough to reach the oe clip. i took alot of pix to compare if u want, but i have no use for this since im using the 9006 kit that i got already from u on my tc.
how do i go about returning this to u? shipping address? do i need a rma number ?
Finally got my HID's in. These are great and a very easy install. Thanks for the deal Clifford!
VeeDubbx 03-05-2007, 03:10 AM cliff: just ordered the 9006 6000k kit... will i get an email when it ships out?
fatboitan 03-05-2007, 04:00 AM i was wondering whats the difference between cliff hid and the other guys hid that 160?
jonathan110987 03-05-2007, 04:01 AM cliff;s have the wiring harness and awesome customer service.
dugzilla 03-05-2007, 10:52 AM can't say for the other one, but Cliff is awesome!
bluaeon 03-05-2007, 08:42 PM cliff: do u have a 3k kit? please let me know. Thanks!
tikbhoy 03-06-2007, 02:03 AM pm replied
fatboitan 03-06-2007, 01:11 PM if i do buy the HID kit for my TC will i be able to use my high beam?
cliffud 03-06-2007, 01:30 PM Thanks for the props guys!
bluaeon - I do have them however the yellow isn't as dark as what a lot of people expect them to be so I try not to sell them unless people have seen them in person. If you do want a set and you want to mimic the dark yellow fog lights of an is300, I suggest getting some yellow overlays done on the light housings in addition to getting the 3k bulbs.
tikbhoy- e-mailed you back, please send me your phone number.
fatboitan - yes, the low beams in the tC are a single purpose beam and you have another bulb that handles the high beam which I think is a 9005.
by the way- all orders from yesterday and the weekend have shipped.
Bomex-bB 03-06-2007, 02:17 PM do you have bi-xenon h4? if you do how much
cliffud 03-06-2007, 02:56 PM sorry man, i don't have the b-xenon H4. i would caution you from getting a set unless you can wire up your xB to shine your low beams AND your high beams at the same time. That's important because when you normally turn on your high beams, the low beam goes out. This behavior coupled with the fact that HID bulbs take anywhere between 10-15 seconds to become effective is not a good thing at 80mph.
There is another solution which allows the HID bulb to move to the high beam location or there is a moving piece on the bulb housing that allows light to shine onto the lower areas of your reflector based housing but they can sometimes break so I don't offer those either.
What I do offer is the HID low beam and a halogen and filament based bulb for the high beam all built onto one base. After testing various types on the market, I feel this is the best solution since you get "instant-on" for your high beams.
Bomex-bB 03-06-2007, 03:59 PM i tried those halogen high and hid low but they suck... I hate the blue reflection on the headlight (looks like cheap film halogen bulb) and high beam is not even any brighter than low beam
NOtORyUS_tC 03-06-2007, 04:02 PM hey cliff.. you got any 9006 4300k in stock? i've been wanting to get these for a long long long time now. but i am caught up with bills.
cliffud 03-06-2007, 04:15 PM Bomex - not too sure what you mean by the blue reflection on the headlight. Mine are clear. And yes, the HID bulbs are like 3x brighter than normal halogen bulbs so high beams aren't even really that noticeable afterwards. :)
NOtORyUS_tC - don't worry man, I'll have them in stock indefinitely. take care of your bills first and hit me up when you're ready. priorities man! :)
Phanon_TC 03-06-2007, 04:19 PM how much just for a set of 9006 bulbs?
cliffud 03-06-2007, 04:24 PM pm'd ya.
NOtORyUS_tC 03-06-2007, 05:17 PM thanks bro. how much is it anyway?
bryan
cliffud 03-06-2007, 05:25 PM $170 shipped - includes 2 ballasts, 2 bulbs, 1 wire harness with relay and fuse wired inline and OEM looking looming, zip ties for mounting, and spare fuses.

Bomex-bB 03-06-2007, 05:39 PM Bomex - not too sure what you mean by the blue reflection on the headlight.
Normally H4 dual kit comes with bulb looks like those below and that ugly blue halogen reflect on chrome pieces on headlight (projector also) and looks like cheap $10 colored halogen bulb. That was what I was talking about since you are saying urs is clear so it shouldnt have that problem.
http://www.hid-light.com/img/pic/h4hi-lo.jpg
fatboitan 03-07-2007, 03:10 PM yea do you guys accept credit card because i dont have all of the 170 right now
cliffud 03-07-2007, 03:32 PM Whoa - that bulb looks nasty! I'll post a photo of mine later today, it looks a lot cleaner and the halogen/filament bulb is clear.

sddykstr 03-07-2007, 11:03 PM Cliff, I'm looking to order a set of 9006 4300k bulbs when I get my tax return, should be this week or next, are you thinking you'll have those in?
cliffud 03-08-2007, 02:37 AM sddykstr- they'll be in stock. don't worry, my next shipment is coming in next week.
fatboitan 03-08-2007, 03:03 AM cliff since the high beam in a tc uses 9005 then how would i replace the oem high beam with hid ones?
cliffud 03-08-2007, 03:15 AM fatboitan- the 9006 kit is for the low beams only. If you would like to get a set for your high beams as well, I stock 9005 kits as well.
Just let me know what you'd like to do.
Thanks!
Clifford
jonnyHKboi 03-08-2007, 04:42 PM hey cliff,

cliffud 03-08-2007, 08:43 PM Saw that last night, it will ship today! :)
Tchaiti4 03-10-2007, 07:47 PM Cliff i installed the 8000k 4 my scion Tc thanks alot They are Gangsta thanks again
bluaeon 03-11-2007, 05:28 PM cliff: would it be possible if you can take a pic of the H3 bulb? i want to see if they will fit on my fogs that i got. Thank you!
fastandcurious 03-11-2007, 06:13 PM Hey Cliffud, how's it going? I sent my payment on Friday for some 9006 4300k. When should I be expecting these? Thanks!
fatboitan 03-12-2007, 02:40 AM how long does this kit last?
i was wondering if there are any pics of the glare shield for the 9006 kit?
cliffud 03-12-2007, 07:11 PM Tchaiti4 - glad to hear you installed them easily. :) care to share some pics?
bluaeon - i'll take a photo tonight. this past weekend was hectic with installs and moving inventory so I didn't get a chance yet.
fastandcurious - love the avatar man. your kit was put into ths mail this morning. check your pm. :)
fatboitan - i unfortunately haven't been able to do some true long term testing but I run them in my fogs and low beams whenever I drive - even during the day for endurance testing purposes. most of the testing that I've done revolves around beating up the bulbs to see what they can withstand before failure.
Testing included:
1) breaking the ceramic cover of the metal wire that runs along the length of the bulb. bulb still worked fine.
2) submerging the bulb and ballast into water and turning it on to see the consequences - no damage whatsoever and it continued to function.
3) opening a ballast and completely gutting it to see what internals could fail and how.
4) touching the glass bulb for fun and turning it on to see what would happen. it smoked for several minutes and continued to work fine. I only ran it for 4-5 minutes.
5) spray painting a bulb (of course this is extreme) for fun to see what would happen - it smoked A LOT for several minutes and the paint burned off. again, i only ran it for 4-5 minutes but there was no bulb failure- the heat burned off the paint and it continued to shine brightly.
6) gave the bulb and ballast half power to simulate daytime running lights or a car alarm and allowed the bulb to flicker for several minutes. haven't had any long term failure yet from this bulb.
overall - they hold up VERY well to stress testing. :) I wouldn't be worried about length of life.
derk - there are no glare shields for the 9006 kits since 9006 bulbs do not have glare shields in general. the tC headlight housing is designed to use light emitted from the light source at all angles and is dedicated to low beams
Hope that answers all your questions guys.
Thanks!
Clifford
bluaeon 03-12-2007, 11:38 PM cool! thanks cliff. hmm... wonder if i can go scuba diving with these HID's. LOL!!!
jonnyHKboi 03-14-2007, 04:11 AM Bomex - not too sure what you mean by the blue reflection on the headlight.
Normally H4 dual kit comes with bulb looks like those below and that ugly blue halogen reflect on chrome pieces on headlight (projector also) and looks like cheap $10 colored halogen bulb. That was what I was talking about since you are saying urs is clear so it shouldnt have that problem.
http://www.hid-light.com/img/pic/h4hi-lo.jpg
well i got my H4/9003 kit yesterday and i can confirm that the high beam is a clear halogen bulb. no blue tint on them.
hey, cliffud, i have a question about my kit. you have a PM.
fastandcurious 03-14-2007, 04:57 AM fastandcurious - love the avatar man. your kit was put into ths mail this morning. check your pm. :)
haha.. thanks.
i hope to have these installed by the weekend. i'll post some pictures after i have them installed. peace.
mwuf15 03-14-2007, 06:20 AM hey cliff, i just placed an order for two 9006 6000K kit

derk - here's a photo of the 9006 bulb. they don't have glare shields since 9006 bulbs are used when a housing is dedicated to a low beam:

bomex - here's a photo of the h4 bulb with the glare shield and the high beam halogen bulb.

bluaeon 03-15-2007, 07:11 PM Cliff: Thank you for the pics... question: is there a way that you can get a hold of a 3000K? Please? Pretty please? hehe... but thanks for the pics... ill post some pics of my car later with your Kit in it.
cliffud 03-16-2007, 03:57 PM blueaeon - i have 3k kits but the light emitted isn't as dark as many members prefer - it's more of a european gt touring yellow vs a lexus fog light yellow.
also... by popular demand...
5000k 9006 and H4 high/low kits are now available! - $170 shipped!
Order here!

NOtORyUS_tC 03-16-2007, 04:01 PM cliff..
what color are the 5000k? are they white with hints of blue?
bryan
fastandcurious 03-16-2007, 04:18 PM this is supposed to be a mcculloh 5000k hid
http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/20061731/Images/1098516071977_4700k_rd2.jpg
cliffud 03-16-2007, 04:37 PM thanks fastandcurious for chiming in.
notoryus - the 4300k kits match what are used in oem applications but when compared to the 6k they can look comparatively a little yellowish since the 6k has a tinge of blue and appears to be "white".
5000k is a good compromise between the two.
Thanks.
Clifford
fastandcurious 03-16-2007, 04:59 PM awe man, i almost wish i had waited for the 5000k. :P i'm leaving work early to install my 4300k's. i really hope i like the color in person. i just want them to be whiter than my silverstars, but not necessarily blue. cliffud, think that'll be the case?
NOtORyUS_tC 03-16-2007, 05:01 PM so if i want it to be white like the hids on the toyota prius' then i should get the 4300k right? i just want it white with no hint of blue or whatsoever.. :D
cliffud 03-16-2007, 06:11 PM fastandcurious- the 4300k will be whiter than the silverstars- don't worry. :)
notoryus- yup- get the 4300k.
bluaeon 03-16-2007, 10:30 PM blueaeon - i have 3k kits but the light emitted isn't as dark as many members prefer - it's more of a european gt touring yellow vs a lexus fog light yellow.

cliff: thanks! im down with that. ill let u know once im ready to order them. Thanks again!
mwuf15 03-17-2007, 06:16 AM thanks cliff, got my HIDs in the mail today.
fastandcurious 03-17-2007, 10:16 PM Cliff, these HID's are awesome! I definitely don't regret getting the 4300k's. These suckers are so bright and WHITE! Man, they put my silverstars to shame. Speaking of, yesterday morning one of my silverstars went out so this purchase was just in time.
I will not be able to post good pictures because my digital camera has been borrowed for the weekend. However, I will try to post some pics with my cellphone. There is something that I want to work on which will help eliminate the glare.
I did notice, like others, that these lights produce some glare. I have yet to get flashed by anyone, but when I pull up against a wall you can definitely see the glare. So I started examining the headlights to see what, if anything, can be done to reduce this glare. You guys will be excited to know that I've found a quick "ghetto" solution to the problem. I will attempt expand on this and see if I can work on something (perhaps with the help of some people on these boards) to try and come up with something definite. Some of you might have benefited from my DIY for the radio door squeek. I hope that my efforts can again lead to something that everyone will benefit from.
I'm on my way out so that's all I can say for now. I will try to take some pictures tonight to show you how these lights look like without some of the extra glare.:lalala:
cadon69 03-17-2007, 10:17 PM Are there any projectors these can be used in? I am looking to get some projectors for my xB and I also want the HID's. Please let me know thank you.
cliffud 03-17-2007, 11:27 PM cadon, yep - check out these pics with the zomk projectors off eBay. the result was VERY VERY good cutoff.
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=161517
Some images from that post:
http://www.mobilehid.com/images/xb7.jpg
http://www.mobilehid.com/images/xb8.jpg
these particular projectors take a 9006 bulb so if you pick them up and order and HID kit, let me know so I can make sure your wire harness is an H4. this way you don't have to do any special wiring.
fastandcurious 03-18-2007, 07:39 AM what's up everyone. like i mentioned in my previous post, i'm figuring out a way to reduce the glare that our headlamps produce when we use HID kits. i don't want to say this will completely eliminate any and all glare because only projectors will do that, but there is a noticeable difference. alas, i'll let the pictures do the talking.
please be aware that i did this "mod" in a hurry and took these pictures with my phone. they came out overexposed but you can still get the point. the car was parked about 10-15 feet from the wall and the picture was taken from the driver's seat. here they are:
Glare

Reduced Glare
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b360/Gruv-E/hid-noglare.jpg
As you can see, in particular, the two bluish hot spots disappeared as well as the whitish spots above them. There is still a small white hot spot on the right side but I believe that can also be eliminated. Again, for now this was something I put together in a hurry.
I'm very excited needless to day. I will continue working on this and will update anyone who is interested. Thanks cliffud for inspiring me with your awesome HID kits.
mwuf15 03-18-2007, 08:38 PM please show how u reduce the glare..
jonathan110987 03-18-2007, 10:51 PM i have minimal glare to oncoming cars in my tC cause im lowered on s.techs so my car is angled forward so its pointing down... never get flashed...

Bluechualappa 03-22-2007, 09:05 PM Did you get my payment from last night? I ordered the 9006 8000k kit...
cliffud 03-22-2007, 09:13 PM Hey Blue- already shipped buddy! :)
cliffud 03-23-2007, 04:42 PM Kits ordered yesterday have shipped this morning. Thanks everyone!
Romanova 03-23-2007, 06:10 PM Think I'll snatch a kit up come payday. Anyone have any high quality photos of where they mounted the ballast assembly on a xB? Thanks!
cliffud 03-23-2007, 06:22 PM Romanova - thanks in advance for the order.
If you want to do a stealth install, check out this install I did on an xB a few weeks ago - http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=161517&highlight=mobilehid
On the xB there is a special slot just behind the headlight housings that serves as a GREAT place to hook in your ballast bracket. This slot is on both sides and it really helps hide the ballasts.
Here's a photo...
