my 6000k is definately pretty bright, but if i had it to do again, i'd go with 5000 or 4300k. my first set of hid's were 5000k and they were brighter. i'm very satisfied with what i have though.

Yeah cory james id o know what u mean, i did that the first night i had em. PITCH black at a parking lot, but im pretty sure the halogens gave the same difference too. The 6000k's are just in a white color. Im just wondering maybe i dint have em installed all the way in.

randomsuper

definately easy. if you can install a bulb you can do this. all you really have to figure out is where to route the wires but that's easy as well.

2007_wichitaSCION
01-25-2008, 07:10 PM
sweet thanks man... i've been weary of buying them only for the fact that i heard you have to splice wires and they are dangerous to your car and blah blah blah... but i really would like some yellow hids for my low beams! or maybe a bluish color!

randomsuper
01-25-2008, 07:14 PM
i recommend 5000k. the bluish ones look cool but don't illuminate as well. i have 6000k and they are plenty bright though. it's all personal preference. for the price cliff is selling them for and the warranty, you can't go wrong.

This is a great HID kit. I got myself the 3000k kit and the light output is amazing. I love the gold/yellow look of the 3000k. Highly recommend this kit.

I was wondering if you have and bulbs that are even more yellow than ur 3000k kit. I was looking to put more yellowish color for my fogs.

Thanks,

im thinkin about gettin HID for my 04 xa in pure white think thats H4 4300k with high beams..

1st off is it still 170 shipped?
2nd thing is could u have the kit ready for plug & play (few pages back saw that u setup all the wiring and everything for kits with high beams)
3rd does high and HID low can be both turned off and on by stock light switch?
4th if i just need to put back my old halogen back in for inspection would i have to install and uninstall everything?
5th im looking for color close to stock hid light on new cars(oem white color) would that be 4300k?

randomsuper
01-31-2008, 01:38 PM
do the 9007 come with high beams?

cliffud
01-31-2008, 03:57 PM
ddl2k3 - great questions.

1) yes
2) all modifications are done before the h4 kit is sent out. once you receive it, you will just need to make plug and play connections.
3) yes, the lights will work exactly how the halogens work. when you turn on your low beams on the stock light switch inside the car, the low beams will go on. flick on the brights and the lows will go off while the halogen highs come on. just like stock.
4) no, all you'd have to do is pull out your HID bulbs, put in your halogens and then disconnect the OEM plugs from the HID kit and connect them back to the OEM halogen bulbs. you can leave the ballasts and wire harness sitting in the engine bay if you want.
5) yep - 4300k. :)

randomsuper - unfortunately the 9007 kits do not have a halogen high beam however if you're interested in a dual-xenon setup where you have HID low AND HID high, those are also available.

thanks!

Hi Cliff,

I recently placed an order on mobilehid.com for a h11 6000k conversion kit.
The money should transfer to Paypal in the next few days.
I just got my tC a week ago and this will be the second mod. (having the windows tinted as I type this)

I just wanted to make sure that you had these in stock and that it is the correct kit for a 2008 Scion tC.

Will I get some sort of confirmation when my payment is received and is there a phone number for contacting MobileHID?

I've ready many great things about your products and can't wait to get them installed.
Thanks in advance!

Cliff,
I just purchased my 08 Scion TC 2 weeks ago! I want the same color as the Lexus' have. I'm affraid to buy the 6000k and for them to not look blue enough. Or are the 8000k going to look too aftermarket or riced-out. What do you recomend on the 08 to look like the Lexus HID's.
Thanks

I wondered the same thing about the 6000k. I want them to be ultra bright and white, but with a slight bluish tint. To me, the 8000k look too blue/aftermarket/riced... but it's all a matter of opinion and taste.
If they made a 6500k I would have probably gone with those.... maybe.

cliffud
02-05-2008, 01:45 AM
tCrs3, just order here bud: http://www.mobilehid.com/scionlife.htm

Also, the 6k has some blue in it but because our eyes play tricks on us at night, if your car is by itself, the light will look white. once you pull up to a car that has OEM hid, then you'll notice the blue tint to it.

The 8k, it's certainly blue even when the vehicle is by itself.

Thanks guys.

Clifford

BTW - if you know of any clear bra shops around you, please PM me their info or post it up so I can add it to the national clear bra directory found here: http://www.clearbrafilms.com

I did, When taking out the grey screw by the air intake, I accidentally dropped it... I think it went into the wheel well area...
I replaced it with one of the screws that came with the kit, but it doesn't actually screw into the hole... wrong size.
It does stay in place, but it's a little loose... so the ballast might be moving a little while I drive. Is that bad? Should it be as secure as possible?

They looked really really good tonight. I'm thinking about getting some HID fog lights, maybe 5000k. Do you have foglights?

cliffud
02-10-2008, 09:45 AM
Yep, foglights are available. It's the same bulb type - H11.

About the ballast moving around, you might want to use a zip tie to secure it but it shouldn't matter too much since it doesn't have anywhere to go.

Yep, I agree Just1n - that's a hot tC. That leather kit worked out really nicely. It's cool how it brings out the luxury aspect of the ride that helps compliment the sportiness.

Nola's also got a rock band. Check them out here:
http://www.myspace.com/bioshock

rvpps2rocks - the bulbs and ballasts are designed to last approximately 3,000 or more hours. The "lifetime warranty" covers this period of time which is approximately 3 years at 3 hours of run time per day and is only offered to ScionLife customers.

In ideal conditions where the relays and fuses aren't subjected to the elements, they too will last a very long time however due to the various ways the harness can be mounted or exposed to the elements, they are not covered since when exposed to water they can corrode and fail like any other piece of electrical gadgetry.

But eh, I always happen to have a spare relay or fuse sitting around so if you ever need one in the future, I'm more than willing to ship one out as long as you cover the shipping.

For example Just1n's xB is on a bagged setup where the splash guards were removed to achieve the "UNBELIEVABLY SLAMMED" status and when the splash guards were removed the relay was exposed and suffered from corrosion. I swapped out his relay and he was up and running again. :)

jsingh - yes, you need an H11 kit for your tC. for a reference on mounting the ballasts when you do your install - check out the images below for an install I did on an 08 tC.

Cifford didnt just give me a new relay. He drove out to meet me and hooked me up. As explained above my install location wasnt the best due to extensive mods but I moved it to a better location by the battery and no problems ever since.

Cifford, I want to buy my brother a kit for his F-150(H11 I believe). Everyone should run HIDs cuz halogens suck Balls.

Hey, I got the kit today, and installed it, looks great. Just kinda confused on the big bundle of wires, the relay and fuse, does it just sit there, or is there a spot in the fuse box for them, how does that work. Sorry if thats a stupid question, didn't see anything on here about the wiring. Really easy to install, hardest part is figuring out a good stealth location for the ballasts, I think img oing to take off the bumper and hide them when i have time, but as for now, Im just amused at how amazing these things look even in non-projector headlights

so 4300K is what most nice car brands (lexus, bmw, cadillac) use right?
- does anyone have pics of light output on 5000K?
- it doesn't have too much blue in it does it?
- do these HID kits have a long startup? when is the final color achieved after startup?

thanks!

I don't think I got the mounting brackets with my ballasts... Are they hiding in the box somewhere?

cliffud
02-17-2008, 07:07 AM
Hi Jdub- yep, just pick up the tray that held everything in place in the box and you'll see the brackets below the tray.

tcdrummer- 4300k is the same as OEM white. The 4300k can look a little "yellow" during broad day light but only because the sunlight at noon is close to a 5k which is kind of like an LED white. (white with a slight slight tint of blue) - just enough to make it look like LED white.

As far as HID startup, the lights warm up to almost full strength within 12-15 seconds and the final color depends on what color temp you pick up. :)

solelaced - interesting point you make with the LED bulbs. I haven't had a chance to test them out but I will now! lol.

^^^ that doesnt sound too practical IMO

Cliff awesome product. still working awesome too. no hiccups or anything.

hey you might know this. have you noticed the older
acura TL's. their HID systems are starting to turn pink and then after a while they fail. is that bulb or ballast? just wanted to know if i kept my car over 8-10 years what to expect

cliffud
02-18-2008, 04:04 PM
dam262a - sorry bud, I don't happen to have any purple 9005 kits in stock.

firesquare - yes, as the vehicles that first came out with OEM HID lighting get older, the light output of the factory bulbs decreases tremendously. more often than not, it's just a bulb issue and not the ballast issue.

For example, my dad has a1998 GS400 and on a recent road trip from AZ to CA, he noticed that the light output was comical compared to my 1998 GS300's MobileHID lighting. I gave him pair of D2R bulbs to swap out in his car and the light output so much brighter than his old and tired bulbs.

On your Acura TL, I'm sure there would be a difference as well. What year is yours?

Thanks.

The headlights are 5000K and the fogs are 3000K (yellow)

its hard to get a good night shot with a crappy camera

their are also sample pics on his website of that the color temps look like. 500k to me is "factory" HID without the annoying blue that the Honda kids buy for their rides. plus blue doesn't work in fog. these 5000K's work nice in the fog. driving up I95 at 3 in the morning in a fog cloud. worked awesome

Hey Cliff...thanks for referring me to that site for the foglight overlays...helped me out alot! Thanks again!

Heres a pic of what it looks like :D

http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v181/221/92/323400014/n323400014_5754_3630.jpg

is that the "pull me over blue"?

HAHA..no, those are just my parking lights. I just have blue LEDs for the parking lights. In that pic...my headlights are not on....if they were they would be blinding...hehe.

Cliff you rock!!!!
I pulled the trigger on two sets
9006 @4300k & 9006 @ 8000k
THANK YOU MUCH!!!!!!

???? is there any thing i need to do when installing the 8000k in my xB's "Sonar" brand projectors to make the separate high beam bulb still work?

cliffud
03-07-2008, 08:15 PM
sdsnybny- thanks for the orders. nope, you don't need anything, special to make the separate high beam work. The sonar projectors should have come with a special conversion wire that converts the combined high/low H4 plug into 2 separate plugs.

05_TRD - maaaaaaaybe in the future... ;)

AgenOrange: you're welcome! :)

Thanks all.

Ordered and waiting. I can't wait for these :)

They were supposed to be here today, but there's two feet of snow on my street, so I'm guessing that might have had something to do with it.
