It sure might.
Big question - How much boost? and Engine Management?

Can't just slap on a turbo w/o more fuel, and some timing adjustment.
Might even need a new head gasket, or some bottom end work.

I think you could safely boost about 6-8 PSI.

Yes.

what other engine mods would need to be done with a turbo upgrade?

you need a whole lot. but in trying to keep it simple.. the most important parts is fuel and fuel management

what about internals? like pistons...cams...pulleys...anything like that?
