Default ATT: everyone who got the Side Airbag Recall READ&INPUT

I thought I was just being paranoid, but eveidently my worries have some reasoning behind them. As soon as I drove off the dealership's lot (they changed my oil and looked for the parts of the recall - they didn't have any so I have to go back next week-end - they had to order them) my window made noise when closed.

I thought it was maybe just some strong wind so I didn't think much of it. The next day same thing same whistling noise and my speaker on the driver's side shaked more than usual. This time I cracked the window open to see if there was any noise still, and sure enough it was whistling also when opened.

Well....I think they might have given our cars a lil hard push to test the 'airbags'.

I thought I was imagining this till Kanundrum told me he had the same problem and a couple other ppl on here I read had some similar issues.

So please if you got the recall done and notice anything different PLEASE post here so I can take it to the guys at my dealership and see what's going on?!

(also vote so we see how many ppl don't have problems)

Here is a list to start off put yr name, screen name, and problem:

1. Claudia, tC4italy, Driver's window whistles noise + shaky speaker

nothing for me...my recall was one of the first done (a couple months ago) and it was as smooth as can be. Granted, I stood there watching their every move (i always do that), but nevertheless, no problems

How do you go about doing that? Just tell the service manager that you want to watch the workers?

I'm surprised the dealer's insurance would allow a customer to do that.

The mechs don't close the garage doors, and it wasn't cold outside yet, so I stood outside by the garage door and watched. Different dealers have different setups, but at my dealer, each bay leads directly outside, so if the door is open, you can see whats going on. After a while, the mech asked me if that was my car that he is working on since I was standing 20 feet from him and I say yea. We started chatting, he's a nice guy, but I never went inside the bay - thats an insurance violation. (It didn't take a long time either)

After I got mine I had to pop the door fully back into place. But the bigger issue was that the power windows were not reset. Making it so the master control was unable to control the passanger side and also using the one touch function. Both windows had to be reset. No rattles or anything as of yet.

WOW, that is exactly what happened to me about the whole windows thing. I went into my car and that happened and I was like wtf?? so i told the service manager, and he had a look at it and told me I would have to get a new master control and the part wouldnt be in until the next couple of days so I would have to come back....arggg....

So, while I was driving home (about 30 minutes later) the windows were actually functioning properly...I was like what the heck, so I think my windows are fine now and that I might not have to take the car back to the dealership....AGAIN

hmm... well.. i can always look into the exact procedure as to what the recall or tsb entails... i'll see what i can find next week.

maybe that can help explain the unwanted "side effects"

LOL I haven't noticed any problems, mine was done when I made the post about trading my tC in for a Matrix (it was a joke for those who didn't see lol).

The only "problem" I had was a split second of paranoia when I went to turn on my radio and didn't hear any bass at all... I was like "NO THEY DID NOT steal my sub and amp!!". Pulled over, looked in the back, it was there. Then, I said to myself "Duh, they probably disconnected the battery and you lost all your stereo setting you dumbarse". And all was fine.

Mine is fine after the recall. I was told though they have to pull out the dashboard. Can anyone confirm this?

Dont know for sure, my dealership didnt take out the battery at all...but i know they really did take apart the door.

And fallen, I dont think a toyota dealership would literally steal your sub and amp lol.
