well last night, i hit a deer goin about 55, and basically destroyed my front bumper, and hood. now that im in the market for a new hood, im really interested in the Kaminari reverse cowl hood. but i also want to get an intake eventually. Is there going to be a big poroblem with water gettin in there, or is there a blocker i can purchase? and input would be helpful. thanks guys (and yes i searched)

Well I don't think the reverse cowl will get that much water into the intake...dunno I might be wrong but I think you are pretty safe with that hood. Cause since the filter will be at the bottom of ur engine bay and the pipe will be on top, so it wouldn't effect ur intake.

lol, about 2 mins after i hit it, 2 hunters stopped.. helped me push my car to the side, and then they took the deer after the cop came and what not.

i just ordered that hood myslef, and from what ive read up on it, the vent comes down to right about the radiator area, so no the intake is not going to be threatned, and i think it comes with a water guard also, but i wont know till it comes in plus the intake would be way out of the way for water so your safe if you get it

hello hello hello! lol i have the Kaminari reverse cowl and theres no need for worry. i had the same questions but the cowl does come down right above the radiator so there wont be any water on the block. also the CAI is tucked away right in front of the driver side wheel which is well away from the vent. water wont be on the intake at all. i love the hood. it flows perfectly with the car's lines. not to big not to small not too loud. however it DOES NOT come with a vent cover. if u want to have one fabbed up i dont imagine it should cost much. but again there is no damage by way of water. it DOES come with a nice aluminum mesh vent which seems pretty high quality. i think u should wax the cowl pretty well tho where the water will rest. you'll see what i mean when u get it. theres a little dip where small amounts of water will rest when the car's not in motion and u dont want water sposts building on ur new hood. wax it well in there and remove excess water after washing it. again i love the hood. enjoy it :clap:

fitment is excellent, i ordered mine, and they said it takes 5 days to make i guess this is for fitment purposes, to insure a quality product, and it comes with a latch on the good already, so all you gotta do is unblot old hood, and slap this sucka on and your good to go

O I gotcha. Well I just got my tC back in October and the only things I've done are Xenon HID high an low beams, window tint, trd exhaust, and install my subs. No car shows till april and where I live all the shows are basically for old classics and the tuners we have here already have kits and stuff and get trophies cause they work and then spend it on they're car. I have school and I got payments so I can't do that. What about that carsponsorships.com thingy? I've heard its a pretty good thing to do to get started on sponsors. But I guess its back to the Seibon OEM CF Hood for like $500 lol.

carsponsorships is my main sponsor, you should try going to carsponsors.com, and fill out an application, i never had to pay a fee for signing up like most people talk about, i think is was because they liked my car a lot. some people think carsponsor is a joke, but they have been good to me, getting me a sponsorship from killerglass.com and others.

I'm the only one in my town lol. But if you go 5 miles down the road there's 1 or 2 more. When I go to Charleston (All the modded cars go there to TRY and show each other up lol) I've seen maybe 5-10 tC's. Not many are modded. After this hood, smoked heads tails an mirror sigs, then silver eyelids. I will probably be the most modded in the area. Maybe even my state lol.

I've only seen two other tCs that were obviously modded. One is a silver that's bagged, with Polk logos on the back windows. See him around my area mostly (Hurricane). The other is a FM whose owner works at Circuit City in Barboursville. He's riding pretty low too.

Just keep doing your thing, i'm sure there will be enough of a following around here soon enough.

well if anyones interested in another update, i have my car in the shop, and my Rs1 lip kit arrived today, i have my ark n2 exhaust sitting here, and my kaminari hood, and injen cai are on there way. so i guess everythings going to be better than it was pre-deer.

and the latches on the hood are high quality. in the fiberglass version at least. no hoodpins needed. CF may be a diff story if it doesnt have a diff component as a skeleton.

not really on topic, but my friend (a chick) hit me the other day (not my car, ME) in a parking lot. then two days later she hit a deer and totalled the car. this is all 5 days after getting her car back from $1200.00 worth of repairs for running into the back of a truck with a tow-hitch.

...and she wanted to drive my tC. HA, i think NOT!

i called yesterday and my hood was being shipped out, should be here in a couple days, also my bumer is on back order and should be here on the 23rd

well almost all my parts are sittin in my entry way, im still waiting for my hood and rims that will arive early next week.
yesterday i called the autobody shop thats fixing my car, and they told me that they had just finished calling toyota to get the limited edition rs2 grilles, and then he told me how he had to have the vin number just to get them, and there being shipped from japan. He also told me how much the cost.. $1250.,,,,,,,,,,, yeah thats what i said

the hood definately looks good on ur RS2. thats .....almost exactly like my car cept for a buuncha other things but the hood and lip...yeah.

no the hood doesnt come with pre-drilled nozzle holes. it comes dimpled for nozzle placement. u have to drill them. i didnt want that tho. now LOWER IT! =) and new wheels... gj!
