Default Damn you south east allocations!

Just got a phone call today. Been one week waiting so far and allocations were two days ago. Nothing could be allocated and he's nearly done with talking to all the dealers in the southeast - no one can/will trade for a flint 5 spd .

Both the Southeast and Gulf States Regions are not owned by Toyota and I therefore, can't check inventory there. They have their own locator system.

What does that mean exactly? That the Southeast Regions are not owned by Toyota? Does that mean they can have different prices and APR's for the tC's? Or how does that work?

SET and GST (South East Toyota and Gulf States Toyota) can and do have different programs. This is why their freight charges are different. It is also why you have things like "Toyoguard", aftermarket leather on the MSRP, and other odd-ball crap like that. They have options in SET that the rest of the country does not have. Its non-Toyota approved equipment and SET will warrant those parts, but Toyota will not. I'm not a fan of SET, nor GST, although there is nothing that can be done about it. Toyota has been trying to aquire these regions for years but can't.

the wonderful things you learn on these forums.....

as an example, they offer an edition of the corolla with a body kit only available through SET. the lip spoiler alone is near 400 bucks al la cart. ouch.
