Curious what milage you all get in the city in your tC. The Window sticker shows 22/29 for a manual.... is this really what everyone is getting? Or is it in actuality better?

At the top right of the forum, theres the words in red reading "search here first!"

It should really be like 10 font sizes larger and blinking, but hey.. what can I say.

It's not better I can tell you that. I drive very economically, I shift about 3-3.5k every gear and rarely use the AC and i'm getting about 20-22 city and maybe 24-26 highway. I miss my civic for this reason.

On my first 3 fill-ups (manual transmission), I averaged about 27-28 and those were highway and city miles combined. I thought that was pretty good and followed what they projected.

I get about 22 in my MT. That is mainly city and I drive pretty aggressive (sp?). I usually shift between 3.5-4.5k and in the city usually dont go above 3rd.

Well I just took a 750 mile road trip... and I got 28.5 on my first tank and that was with about an hour stuck in traffic. Second tank I got 29.5 that was little traffic, AC on about half the time, and very hilly areas Kentucky and Tennesse. One thing I did notice is the car is nice and smooth up to about 90 MPH... once I was above 4K RPM the engine was rougher. 5 Spd BTW.

Just took a road trip across the state. Averaged 30.95 mpg driving about 80mph with the air on in an automatic, with 2 passengers.

I have been keeping track of every tank I have had so far. I have a maunal transmission and I dive it "moderately" (mostly conservatily, but opening it up every now and then) with the A/C (summer in GA). I have ended up only doing highway for long trips since I dont get onto the highway to go to work and everything is close by. I have also been filling up before I leave for the trips, so I have been able to compare highway and city well. here is my mileage so far:

tank number/ gallons/ miles/ % city/MPG

1/ 11.491/ 256/ 100/ 22.2783
2/ 11.973/ 270.5/ 100/ 22.5925
3/ 6.02/ 126.4/ 100/ 20.9966
4/ 9.651/ 276.8/ 10/ 28.68
5/ 12.117/ 314.4/ 15/ 25.947
6/ 5.462/ 114.5/ 100/ 20.970
7/ 12.173/ 366.6/ 5/ 30.115

total/68.89/1725.2/49.88/25.04282

With almost exactly half my miles on city/highway I averaged 25MPG, and got the expected 22/29 EPA estimate.
