Need to sell my 2006 tc for urgent cash. What can I expect?
I'm an engineering graduate student. Due to some problems, my research funding which I was expecting has fallen through for the upcoming semester. I need money urgently and I'm going to be selling my tC.
Here are the details - 2006 tC flint mica 5 sp with 14,000 miles. This is my first new car and it has been absolutely babied -no mods, very gentle highway driving, I've almost never gone above 3000 rpm (which may be why I consistently get 30+mpg), carwash every other week without fail.
I changed the oil at 1500 miles first, then every 3000 miles after that (all records available). Other than some rim rash and a few tiny paint chips, the car is in great cosmetic condition. Interior is like new. It is also in perfect mechanical condition (I would say more than other cars with similar mileage because of the way I drive my car. The engine has never seen past 4000 rpm or been driven hard)
It breaks my heart to sell this car because I typically take great care of my cars and like to maintain them and keep them for as long as they'll run. What can I expect in resale value for this car? Anyone know?

wow... 06 with 14K miles... check kbb.com or edmunds.com for your RSV. i would say no more than $13K (base on trade in value estimate) with that much mileage... and due to some tiny paint chips and curb rash... that might hurt you a little bit too. but check those 2 websites, it'll give you an idea of how much your car is worth... good luck with the sale.
Well it's a 2006 but I bought it in August 2005. So it's been over a year now. Plus, I moved from LA to PA so that put a lot of highway miles on the car.
I'm also only looking at an outright sale. I'll be using a bicycle to get around on campus in the future.

Best to average them together and expect to be on the low end of the scale.

Btw, my rpm figures were not referring to highway mileage but accelerating. I see a lot of people rev above 4000 rpm and accelerate with a lot of throttle. But I accelerate gently from a stop and tyically shift at about 2800 rpm.
