Wouldn't it be nice to have a poster-size copy of that 12x16 foot collage of so many winners and their cars as a piece of memorabilia of the Miami Event?

I'd even be willing to buy one from Scion.

We need to let them know we want a copy to remember the friends we met and the event...

OMG!!! I'd love to have one! I was dead center on it and there were two big pics of the Phoenix and the Raven on it !! Plus I loved all the pics of everyone else. It'd be a great reminder of all the fun we had :D

I was faded already by the time they opened up the second room. I saw a lot of familiar faces on it and a couple pics of my 1NZ.

...a poster-sized copy of that large collage (about 12x16 feet?) you folks had at the Scion Miami Event. It was the one with assorted Scions and faces from ScionLife winners.

There is more than one of us willing to buy a copy of that work to memorialize our trip, and the friends we met and made.

BTW, Thanks a WHOLE lot for the excellently done event, and the peek at the two new designs the rest of the world will be seeing in a couple months. I think we've already sold some of the new xB to fellow ScionLife readers, sight unseen, just based on our descriptions and opinions. :o) (Heh. It worked.)

I really, really, want a copy of that too! I saw my xBs but not myself (I had a picture of myself with a blue hoody, holding my laptop that said "thank you scion and scionlife.com, if you saw it, let me know!). But like many of you, I was "enjoying" the event so much, I might of missed it.

i hadn't told my wife what pics were on there, so when i showed her the pic of ourt 3 yr old anthony in dead center she about cried. we missed our little guy!

The lady I spoke to sounded as if she would honestly try to get my request to the right people.

I made it very clear to her that I appreciated everything Scion has done and would be more then willing to purchase a poster/t-shirt.

At one time, James, I could likely have done just that and not missed very much (having a near photographic memory - an eidetic memory - was very helpful to an engineer). Since my stroke in 2000, though, it just doesn't work right anymore. :( Heck, I even had to learn fairly good sized chunks of English all over again, and some days are still a lot better than others.

Glad you found someone that seemed to listen, Maria. I really feel if they get enough people contacting them, and if at least SOME of the front line people pass the information on to the right people, we might have a chance.

I just sent another email requesting a poster....So hopefully they will hear the masses.

What are they going to do with the collage? Did anyone here of what might happen to it? I would also like a poster of it, me and my girl had a couple of pics on it.

I believe the most credible rumor is the cover of the next Scion mag - but that's too small for a good framed image, and it will have printing over portions of it.

A poster of it would be simple and inexpensive for them to do, they already have signed releases for use of the images, and we are even willing to BUY the posters. We aren't asking for a whole lot.

what you could do is someone posted a pic of a car that was made from hundreds of pics, take all of the pics from those two threads, and the ones that have been posted since everyone got back and see what you could do with a program like that

I want a poster and DVD of the event as well. I think that would be super sweet if they just mailed that out to us as an Xmas present......even if it is a little late for xmas.

well some people who have already seen the new Magazine at the Chicago Auto Show said that some of the owners pics are on there...BUT they are from the ScionRepresent.com site, not the collage we saw in Miami!

I am looking at the mag right now, There are perhaps a dozen owners' rides on the cover, not hundreds :(

ugh and i thought i was gonna be in a mag! im ever so sad, they wont even let us buy the posters i send them emails all the times! ugh!

I had it printed pretty big. It would be so much cooler if we could get a high resolution image that's why i'm holding out on framing this one to see if i can get one printed clearer.

Thomas, is the image you have on your server the same one that we can get off of the scion site or did you obtain it from somewhere else? i'm guessing that you just added the stuff at the bottom, it looks pretty cool I may get one printed with that on it.

Yeah, that's just a slightly massaged version of the PDF available from the Scion site. It prints up well as an 8.5x11, but the amount of compression artifacts in their copy really messes up the ability to print larger.

If I could even get an uncompressed (or at least just mildly compressed) version the same size I already have, I could possibly force it into a decent poster.

If I could get a full frame shot of the original even just using my usual camera, I could easily print poster size.

Guess we need to keep beating on them - now that they have at least released a poor copy, it SHOULD be easier to get them to release a decent copy...

(Did you notice this is the "8x10" version? I wonder if there are larger versions? Of course there are. All we need is one copy of the best they've got.)

I don't really know much about compression artifacts or image compression but I come from a family that is in the commercial printing business and had the digital pre-press department print it as big as they could given the resolution they had.

Compression artifacts are all the little wavey lines - like "heat waves" over
the asphalt on a hot summer day - that corrupt the image. That's the one
largest kind in the little copy of the composite, at least.

Here's an easy to see example: The top is from the little composite image,
the bottom is a good copy of the same car with very few artifacts.

The difference between the two (remember, number of pixels, or "resolution"
is identical) is the amount of image compression. Top is JPEG "low" quality,
bottom is "high"...

Hey guys! i know this is an ancient post revisited, but the Miami trip was still great fun and a trip i will never forget. Thank you Scion. Did anyone ever come up with a poster? or smaller size of the photo wall they had of all the cars of the winners?

Whew! This is an old one. :)

Nothing ever came of the requests to Scion Corporate for a higher resolution copy that we could print. Best version available to my knowledge is the one you get if you click the image I posted above.
