I would shrink wrap the hell out of it and then put some bubble wrap around it then run packageing tape around the bubble wrap a few times and that will pad it perfect. I've done it before and have never heard of any problems. Also, you may want to look into shipping via greyhound. Much cheaper for items such as that than UPS for FedEx.

thats it??? you dont pack it in a box???
I shipped a del Sol front bumper from Cali to Maryland. Cost about 70 bucks (FedEX Ground). I boxed it, and the box was 18w x 24h x 72l-- looked like a carboard coffin. I bought 18x24 shipping boxes at the U-haul and mated them together to form one giant box. Greyhound Express was cheaper, but not enough to warrant the hassle.
The box I sent also had a pair of fenders and a bumper support bar in it. The wieght doesn't really matter, though, as any bumper will be OS3, and you'll be paying based on dimensional weight. I could have put another 40lbs in the box and the shipping charge would have remained the same.
