View Full Version : 2008 Scion xB Sketches? scionlife 12-18-2006, 06:26 PM OK, 300+ drunk people saw the new xB, but since no cameras were allowed there is no photographic evidence of the car. Lets see some sketches of any particular details that you remember. RTon20s 12-20-2006, 07:42 PM I figured since someone responded directly to my sketches I should at least do one more. This one is based on the spy photo that has been floating around and comments I have seen. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f383/RTon20s/xB.jpg Dwatts5250 12-20-2006, 07:47 PM Ok...so it looks like a mixed breed between the xB and the Fuse concept? Unless someone there was at least somewhat SOBER!! or Someone snuck in a camera phone...did they search you b4 u went in?? CBSIMONSEZ 12-20-2006, 09:28 PM OK ... about this sketch ... headlights .. make the center a square rather then a round projector. The only projector was on the outside. They also wrapped slightly towards the rear of the box .. kinda like the tC ... that is where the ornage refelctive lense is. Meaning that i cant smash and clear these headlights .. they will have to be baked. The fog on the bottom ... make that vent that they sit in shorter in hieght. Maybe by 1/4 ... and then center them on the lower part of the bumper. Now ... from the fog light moving towards the center of the grill ... drag that shaded spot to a point about 3" in real scale ( just about where you have the indentation now. ) The hood needs to be longer. Fenders flared just a tad more. Get rid of that line on the rear window. Its one piece now and its the most narrow at this back corner. And .. not that it matters ... but the front grills are not mesh or honey comb on this one. This one had a solid piece of flat black plastic with tiny holes ( bout as large as a kernel of corn ) randomly placed through out. And both allow air to pass through to cool the radiator. Guamsilverbox671 12-21-2006, 01:27 AM http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/Guamsilverbox671/20061220232446.jpg scionlife 12-21-2006, 03:01 AM 08 xB rendering http://www.scionlife.com/gallery/personal/44868_1.jpg az_pinoy 12-21-2006, 03:17 AM the things is...isnt' the model shown at Miami supposedly had the 5axis body kit?...was it a lip kit or full front replacement? JC Max 12-21-2006, 03:55 AM The fenders are flared a bit more, but they have that flatness which is about 1"-1-1/2" all around the fenders, very reminiscent of the current tC and xA. I was not the biggest fan of it. dexter_5000 12-21-2006, 04:21 AM the front grill reminds me of the subaru redesign. Grogck 12-21-2006, 04:11 PM 08 xB rendering http://www.scionlife.com/gallery/personal/44868_1.jpg I have a side-profile shot of the T2B as my wallpaper on the system next to my laptop. If that's pretty close to what it looked like then I'm very very pleased. Love the looks of the T2B. Once you guys get the exterior fairly well represented, would anybody care to take a wild stab at the interior? CBSIMONSEZ 12-21-2006, 10:50 PM Darrens is close ... but the air vents in front of the wheels are far too large. And .... the headlights were projectors. And yes, the 5 Axis is an added lip kit. The Exhaust was 5 Axis as well. TANTALIZEDMIND 12-23-2006, 03:59 AM Darrens is close ... but the air vents in front of the wheels are far too large. And .... the headlights were projectors. And yes, the 5 Axis is an added lip kit. The Exhaust was 5 Axis as well. Who's Darren? bBlover 12-23-2006, 04:16 AM ^ how do you not know who Darren is? he's the owner of SL!!! I like the sketches you guys have made. Now if the real thing looks like the sketches, hmm. ScionEyes 12-24-2006, 12:06 PM i think they do... I now want to see sketches of the interior.. I like the placement of the shifter ~ OldYeller 12-28-2006, 07:42 AM No suicide doors I see.......... ScionXBrent 12-29-2006, 07:04 PM Uhhh.... are you kidding? cherryBox 12-31-2006, 08:19 PM watching... SCIONbrouillard 01-03-2007, 04:21 PM wow, looks like I'll be jealous of the 08+ xb owners because that really looks nice. But I think I'll stick with my OG box. PimpMobile 01-10-2007, 09:23 PM Hey- Three sketches have been posted. They are from: 1) RTon20s 2) Guamsilverbox671 3) funktional Can the folks who attended the Miami Event indicate which sketch they feel is the most accurate or closest to what the 2008 Xb revealed there looked like? JettoNinjin 01-10-2007, 09:33 PM http://www.scionlife.com/toyota/images/XB04.gif http://www.scionlife.com/gallery/personal/46288_1.gif The second pic is about as close as My limited abilities allow me to show what the '08 will look like stock...what you saw in Miami is total 5axis work. I used the scionlife xB pick, since thats how this car was based too. The changes externally aren't so huge, and the size difference probably wont even register with people until they park it next to an 'old' xB. enjoy. PimpMobile 01-11-2007, 12:02 AM Okay...lets revise things...At least Five (5) sketches have been posted. In this thread they are from: 1) RTon20s 2) Guamsilverbox671 3) funktional 4) JettoNinjin and 5) then there is the "sketch" at http://thehollywoodextra.blogspot.com/2007/01/new-scion-xb-replacement.html#comments which was posted in another thread on this forum. So I'll ask again: Can the folks who attended the Miami Event indicate which "sketch" they feel is the most accurate or closest to what the 2008 Xb revealed there looked like? The suspense is killing me!!! DFWDJ 01-11-2007, 12:47 AM Considering that a thread is locked with #5 and no one that went to Miami is "confirming or denying" the accuracy of it, I'd say that it is the most accurate if not the exact production model. But what do I know... Max 01-11-2007, 12:54 AM Considering that a thread is locked with #5 and no one that went to Miami is "confirming or denying" the accuracy of it, I'd say that it is the most accurate if not the exact production model. But what do I know... It's very close, but it is not the exact production model. DFWDJ 01-11-2007, 01:26 AM So I digress to my "most accurate" comment. I'd like to see more Miami winners comments on it, but it seems few have logged in today, or perhaps they are avoiding it all together. I'm a conspiracy theorist at heart, so, my mind may be over-calculating the circumstance. PimpMobile 01-11-2007, 01:45 AM DFWDJ makes me think the question I should ask the Miami winner's first is: What were the terms of the confidentiality agreement or other paperwork you had to sign or agree to in order to attend the Miami event? If you can tell us this, then perhaps the people on this forum can then ask questions you might be able/permitted to give answers to? Check out this thread however......... http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=156234 scion_jon 01-11-2007, 01:55 AM http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/3545/557/400/894221/scion.jpg so its gonna look like this?????? Max 01-11-2007, 02:16 AM DFWDJ makes me think the question I should ask the Miami winner's first is: What were the terms of the confidentiality agreement or other paperwork you had to sign or agree to in order to attend the Miami event? If you can tell us this, then perhaps the people on this forum can then ask questions you might be able/permitted to give answers to? There was no NDA, and the above picture is pretty close, but it is not a picture of the car. It's a sketch, and a close one, but not a perfect representation. I posted this info on this thread: http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=156234 Guamsilverbox671 01-11-2007, 04:37 AM Mmmm... I adjusted my sketch to try to capture the pic. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/Guamsilverbox671/20061220232446-1.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/Guamsilverbox671/20061220232446-2.jpg Oh well.....guess will have to wait til Feb. Max 01-11-2007, 05:06 AM Guam: you are real close, but you need to have the top of the windows slant downward as they go back, and add the ridge across the hood that is (very roughly) shown here: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68/lufox/08-1.jpg scion_jon 01-11-2007, 05:13 AM nice work on the renderings, but if they are anything close to the real one, im not feeling it JettoNinjin 01-11-2007, 06:37 PM I don't have photoshop, so this was done with the crappy "paint" that comes with windows. Sorry for the horrible work done here. I reworked the 'hollywoodextra' pic a little bit. This is more like it: http://www.scionlife.com/gallery/personal/46288_2.jpg ^^pretty much is the xb coming. http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/3545/557/400/894221/scion.jpg ^^Hollywood extra version. It's not so bubbly in the front, and is a little beefier in the butt end. Headlights are more in line with the grill, like the current xB. The hood doesn't have the huge wave they put in it. My alteration isn't perfect, of course, but pretty much what the car looks like. I believe the origianl pic is a photoshop mutant of the t2B and the new RAV-4, but not so far off anyways!! Guamsilverbox671 01-11-2007, 10:19 PM how this.... http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/Guamsilverbox671/20061220232446-3.jpg Should the grill be moved also? Guamsilverbox671 01-12-2007, 12:20 AM Adjusted the front end..... before http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/Guamsilverbox671/20061220232446.jpg after http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/Guamsilverbox671/20061220232446-4.jpg NewMexicoxBPhatBoy 01-12-2007, 12:25 AM Hmmm, i actually like it :P lol i though i was going to HATE IT! but it still KINDA/SORTA has the boxey shape but not really but its actual nice! but i still like the 1st gen wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than the 2nd gen IMO! :P toyotaisme 01-26-2007, 09:57 PM Nice RTon20s 01-26-2007, 10:37 PM Why the wheel off? Someone make it to the SEMA measuring event? dirtybox 01-26-2007, 11:13 PM 5 lug 4 wheel disc brakes looks like they had to beef it up a little to accomodate the new power Guamsilverbox671 02-09-2007, 02:10 AM http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/Guamsilverbox671/20061220232446-5.jpg |
