I was wondering if anyone knows how to make a motion pic, you know like where the background is all blurry and the wheels on the car too?

this is my first attempt at it but i dont think its that great...



any tips on how to achieve what im asking

 

Make the entire outline of the car as a selection(the white jaggies animate around the sides) Then I think you can click select inverse from one of the toolbar menus at the top. Then apply the motion blur filter from the filter list at the top. When setting the angle, make the angle the angle that the pic is already in. You can also change the intensity to your liking.

PS - I'm iffy on the select inverse part.

Then you can select your wheels, and do a radial blur to get down the look of the tires turning

Yeah it also helps if you pan while shooting the picture, my dad does that all the time, but he is a pro... If you pan with a solid image while shooting at a high f stop and medium shutter speed, then pan with the object, it will blur the background and the wheels without photoshop.

 

well i think i got the hang of it, been playing around with learning how to do these kind of pics check it out....

nice job jon. try using higher res images and the xB is about to hit the back of the car if its moving

 

if you had a picture like this one i did, it would be alot easier ....
