Hey people! Well I've used search and could find nothing. So my system is finally installed. I have a Kenwood 990, diamonds in front, mb quart in rear, 2 12" subs, 2 amps, 2 caps and one battery in the trunk hooked up to a isolator in the front. So here's my problem.

Everytime I start the car, my battery indicator lamp stays on until I rev the engine or start driving. It doesn't give me any problems starting, just the lamp. I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what this could be or what could be wrong. I know this will become a big problem later on. Anyone know?

You are probably frying your alternator with all those accessories drawing amps.

^^ yea.. sounds like ur alternator cant keep up w/the extra amount of electricity during start up.. remember the alt. charges ur battery rite after u start coz of the starter current draw..

do u hav ur system on wen u start the car?

yea.. coz i thnk ur alt is being overwhelmed at start up..

By the way, what MB Quarts do you have in the back? Discus? Reference? I just bought some and want some opinions.

And if you keep all those accessories in, your alternator is going to fail you down the road, Hopefully not in the middle of nowhere. I personally would take those capacitors out. They're only band-aids, and unless you're pushing out 3000W burps, I think they're only hurting you. Getting a beefed up alternator is a good choice if you've got the $$$. Sell the caps. :silly:

Well, I got premiums 216 i think. Well, I had all this stuff in my previus hyundai tiburon and it had no problems. I'll try starting the car with the system off. As for the alternator dying. I hope not. the car is 1 month old. and the system has been in for 3 days.

I can't explain why you didn't have problems in your Tiburon, but your alternator has to charge 4 batteries, and provide power to 2 amps. That's a lot of strain.

I just realized I left something very important out. When I picked up the car from the audio shop it was already doing it. the installer told me about it. I dont think that we realized it was going to be continuous like it is. So i'm wondering if some wires could be crosesd or something like that. I want to have my chargiong system checked out. could it just be a recurring fault code in the ecu? would a reset help? or a faulty isolator?

be careful removing the capacitors(caps) they will hold a charge until its let out and could hurt you pretty good depending on how big they are, I've got 2 10" subs, a 250 watt amp, an eclipse double din HU thats video and all that good stuff, fire dept lights/siren and an alarm all hooked up and no problem with my battery, you could have a dead cell in the battery too, If you spent that much getting all that installed I'd unhook the amps and leave them unhooked, and the caps, basicly leave your speakers and HU working, run it that way for a few days and see what happens if it stays on, pull the wires back until they are hidden in the engine bay remove the subs/caps/amps, and take the sucker to the dealer

90 if I recall correctly. Do not hold me to that though.
