Well, today, my Injen Cold Air Intake came in. I opened up the box, looked at the parts, made sure everything was there. I took a look at the directions and it says that I have to take off the valve cover, battery, the battery tray, driverside front tire, and the front bumper. Now, I don't care about taking off the valve cover, battery, etc. but the thing thats got me kinda scared is is taking off the front bumper. Is hard to do? This car is my life (kinda sorta) and if I do something to the bumper. I'll be ____ed. all I want the know is how you take it off and if the system I got is a good system.(the instructions say "Congrats on purcasing the best system out there" but everybody says there the best, I just want your opinion)

you dont need to take the front bumper off, it's easier if you do to install, but its not necessary.

less then 5 minutes to remove the front bumper. very basic setup. quite impressive actually :)

So you can look at that tech article of how to install the AEM intake, and it is helpul with the whole install...except for the fact that the AEM is shaped different than the Injen.

The Injen CAI was the first mod that I did to my tC.

I read the instructions thoroughly and decided...no guts, no glory.

The bumper is easy to remove. Just a handful of screws and those push caps ( which are easy to remove with a small screwdriver ). Be sure to keep all of your removed screws together or as I did, with them in the general vicinity of where they came from. ( If you have some left over when you are finished, I don't need to go there. )

Yes, you can do it without removing the bumper. But due to the shape of it, it takes some odd finagling ( my dad's word ) to get it into place. It was difficult enough to get it in with the bumper removed, so I honestly don't know how it would be with it left on.

I don't know if it's the same with the Injen, but when I installed my K&N, I just pulled the liner out of the wheel well...sounds easier than taking off the bumper.

I did the same with my K&N. I didnt take off anything nor jack up my car. Just pulled the wheel well out.

ok well I just got done putting in my intake. I didn't pull of the bumper. Thank god, I almost did, but It turns out you guys were right. I didn't have to pull it off. the only thing I did have to do is pull the wheel off and shimmy under the car but no big deal. I took the car for a test drive and guys, this thing sound SICK!!!! this was the first install I did and I think It turned out pretty good. I"ll try to post some pics for you guys to see. Thanks for the advise guys, I guess I know were to come if I need more help.

In about a week or so, make sure all your bolts are still tight because mine kept seeming to come loose a little bit. But now it doesnt.
