Wife made my X-mas wonderful!!
We celebrated X-mas a little early this year since my wife works Sat-Mon, 12 hours per day. She hooked me up really good this year with xB parts...here's the list.
-Leather kit
-Headlights
-Taillights
-Front Window tint
-Red/Black leather steering wheel
-Injen Short Ram intake
-Maroon and Black tweed
I am very excited to get started. I already installed the intake and tint. I gotta wash the car to do the headlights and taillights. I'll get some pics up as I progress. Yay!!
Merry X-mas!

I hope to get some stuff done soon. It's so cold here that washing the car is gonna suck, but I'm gonna get over there tomorrow and do it. I also have to find a good place to buy a small compressor, spray gun and glue. Here in Germany the good spray glue is 12 Euro per can...around $15 USD. I figure if I need five or six cans, why not uy a small compressor and spray gun, then buy the exact same glue for 10 Euro per liter! I think in the end I will save some cash if not break even.
Nice stuff. BUT, hmmm, why you need many cans of glue?? I see nothing on the list that would need more than 2 cans perhaps (leather inserts for the door panels).
OH never mind
LOL I didnt see the tweed on the list I am sure thats what the glue is for. You are gonna be a busy guy have fun!!!

Well, I gotta do the headliner which takes at least two cans if done correctly, then I gotta do door inserts and maybe even the door panels themselves. I also need to recover the stereo stuff in tweed and possibly do other interior panels. I am really thinking about doing the whole car.
I tried doing a door insert the other day. I am fairly skilled but I didn't have good upholstery tucking tools and I think spray can glues basically all suck. Long and short of it I ruined 1 of my 4 leather inserts. Good thing I have a good upholstery guy I use for things I can't handle (or screw up). $200 for 4 new leather inserts to match my leather seats (from another source) installed and cleanly. The tweed is likely a bit thinner and may not be too bad to do, but the material I had was thick and had an even thicker seam running across horizontally along the contour at the back of the door grab/switch inset. Try as I might those seams would not press down into the insert outer groove and stay there. Ultimately ripped one seam and that is when I gave up.
