I was just looking at the toyota japan site & found that the ist comes with a 185/65-15 Tire. Why then does our xA & xB come with 185/60-15? That right there would throw off the speedo a little? Did they do it to make the gearing a little shorter so the cars seem peppy?

That's a likely theory. On the xB, the speedometer reads a bit high, but the odometer reads low.
