I have to agree - valentine one is the way to go. You can also get a remote face for it, so you can place the detector hidden in the corner, and the display somewhere in the dash, so there is not just a radar just sitting suction-cupped to your windshield.

Valentine One, hands down.

Search for them on Ebay, that is the cheapest place I have found them.

Does anyone have those radar jammer things? I can't remember what the company is called, but they say they'll pay your ticket if you get one...suppossedly the thing scrambles the signal from the radar gun and makes it impossible to clock you.
sounds like a bunch of BS to me.

I've got the photo blocker and a phase 2 jammer cuz the cops know my ride around here.

I don't remember anything about them paying for a ticket, then again, I haven't had one in a while

my mom has a jammer in her volvo....she doesnt drive fast, so she never gets pulled over....but when they have those radar reminder things set up in the road, it effectively scrambles that thing....it just reads two dashes instead of a number.

Hey Guys Am still alive been wayy 2 busy havent been 2 the meets for a long time homefully i be able to come by soon.

Well theres a companny called Blinder http://blinderusa.com/ They sell a Laser Jammer that works great but you cant get away with it. a cop will aim at you with his laser gun and if he doesnt get a reading on your car he trys a difrent car and if that works he aims it back on your car and still no reading he will pull you over. He will ask you to pop the hood. issue you a fine and take the device.

Hey bro...long time no see!

I think we are looking at detectors and not so much jammers...lol.

Anyway--Valentine One...the only one I would seriously recommend...I mean if you don't want the best, why are you even going to try to have a radar detector?

your not the only one i have one too im just looking for one for my dad. ive read alot of the radar tests and alot of people want/like the valentine becuase of the arrows that tells you where the laser is coming from. reports said that the 8500 performs just as good as the valentine and sometimes better. the 8500 is also more user friendly and you can also keep the annoying X bands to a minimum

I know you had it but no on e says anything good about it. They're both equal and the 8500 costs a lot less

what do you have to say about your 8500?

when i got mine the 1st time it started to go off i was wondering where the hell the cop was so i jus kept driving speed limit and it was going off for a good mile literally til i got to the stop light and as i was waiting to turn i finally see the cop coming in the opposite direction i was    but now sometimes it seems like its not up to par with the way it should be but im not sure if its the other things affecting its performance like the other cars behind me trying to use me for shield *shakes fist* or alot of the cars in front of me blocking the laser but 95% of the time its incredible. before this radar i had the passport 6800 that is until i got jacked at gunpoint  that radar was amzing but overall id recommend the 8500 i havent tested the valentine so im not sure but i hear good things

I'd still like to see pictures of the valentine mounted. Doesn't the 8500 have a similar feature of a remote display?

I have and 8500 and it has worked fine for me so far. It probably takes a little more time getting used to than the Valentine 1 because the Valentine has the arrows. I think I paid like $260.00 for it plus shipping. So it's considerably cheaper than the the Valentine 1. Maybe next time I'll try the Valentine 1 but the price is kind of steep.

Oh here's a link to cheap price for the Passport:

Don't know how long it will last.

From personal experience with both the 8500 and the Valentine One, when both are mounted equally, Valentine One owns the 8500 hands down.

http://www.radar-detectors.com/support/product-tests/Default.asp

Thats the link to comparison tests. To all the latests detectors.
Here is the link to the home page:

This site is an excellent source of info. I do think Bell/Escort does pay to get theirs advertise the best. After all, everything is about advertising.

This site use to have a video, it still might but I can't find it, of that guy radar Roy driving a car, with a bunch of different detectors, heading in the direction of a guy setup with a radar gun shooting him, the first detector to go off was the valentine One and then the 8500 went off after he got something like 400 feet closer to the radar gun.

Recently I heard that this thing is suppose to be insane. But then again it does cost 1200 after installation so that is a bit nuts to me.
http://www.radar-detectors.com/products/escort/sr7.asp

Just my 2 cents, my valentine one will be on the way shortly.

Hope this helps some of you.

After reading that review I would think you would go with the Beltronics RX65 or the Passport 8500 X50? I don't know maybe I'll try out the Beltronics instead.

my dad has the 8500, its great but it still doesnt tell you where the cop is, but it does do everything thing else a little better then the valentine one. Plus when cops update their guns you can send it to Escort and they will update it and all you have to pay for is shipping.

i was reading MOTOR TREND a while back and it did the radar shootout. and the 8500 came in first with a 97 and the valentine came in 3rd with an 77 or an 87. not sure which one. yet the valentine claimed they came in first.

i have an 8500 and it has saved me so many times. honestly why does it need arrows. imo its sort of useless cause when the thing goes off no matter what your going to have to slow down. but thats just me
