Default Genki Tuning/ Proexhaust TC projectors on ebay.....opinions?

Hey everyone, I know this topic has been covered a lot, but I didn't see anything mentioned other than helix or the anzo brand covered. I really like the style of the ones on ebay sold by genki tuning...here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-06...66525387QQrdZ1

Here are the same ones sold by proexhaust

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-06...67192008QQrdZ1

I saw a negative comment on reviews for genki and they were complaining that the "item" for the TC didn't fit right, etc, but I couldn't open the whole review to verify they were complaining about the headlights....sorry, ebay noob.

Has anyone purchased these? Thanks for any input....

They've been discusses many many times. They're all made the same even if different companies sell them. Most people here think they're crappy which is probably true. You get what you pay for.

I really appreciate your opinions; like most tuners, hate too spend hard earned cash on junk I haven't seen or heard of...

Heard a few people on here say that they automatically heat up their headlights and reseal them when they get them anyway...maybe I'll do that. Wish I could see a pair up close at a show...

BTW chris, I've ordered parts from technique...they are great to work with!! So...when you reseal them, does anyone add an adhesive or simply heating them back up does the trick?

I think you should go for the anzos, or the eagle eyes. I like mine. they are cool. And look OEM with halos. I dont like the ones you are looking into. I mean they look too cheap and euro. These are japanese cars, and I like the OEM look. Just coverup the leds with a solid eyebrow and its all set. :D

i plan on covering the led or reflector portion wiyh eyelids anyways, i think the whole "angry eye" look is sick...i like the anzo's but i liked that the turn signal piece in the front is different on the others, yet again i like the anzo quality and rep...

btw, what are eagle eyes? haven't heard of them yet...

cant you just put a crapload of silicone around it and not even have to bake it and open it up?

that's kinda the way I was thinking, but I might open them up, paint them to match the body (2005 iip TC), then heat it to seal it again, AND use silicon. BUT WAIT, I don't think the paint will handle the heat. They don't make IIP high temp paint obviously...

I dont know about baking them. Wouldnt that damage the CCFLs? Oh, and if you get Eagle Eyes or Anzos, be sure they are CCFLs and not LEDs. Eagle Eyes are a taiwan company that makes the same headlight as Anzo USA. Upgrade the bulbs to something better too. Like silverstars, im gonna get me a set of H7 for them today hopefully.

Well, I got the "egale" eyes from ebay and some friends at A&R body in Glen Burnie basically installed them for me while I was getting some mesh replaced. They look really good except...I didn't seal them before putting them in (forgot) and the drivers side fogged a little. Also, had them two days and the low beam croaked already. You said you were gonna use h7's NightShade? I wanna upgrade all my bulbs. The projectors aren't as bright as I thought they were gonna be...Lastly, I wouldn't use Silverstars, they look great but I was going through a set every 3-4 friggin months!

Any other opinions on bulb replacements? I'm sure some smart@$$ is gonna suggest using search, which I did, but didn't come up with anything definite...just a lot of "I might try..." Thanks!! Oh, btw, I am putting eyelids on as I'm not wild about the led tops either..

Well, its a bit brighter with the silverstars and I havent had any probs. Yeah, lol deff put on some eyelids. What you could do is bake them and replace the cutoff panel thing with an even out one, so the cutoff is straight. Other than that the projectors is what isnt good, the beam of lights just circles around them. Silverstars make them a bit brighter but not that brighter than OEM. If you have the know hows and cash. see if the projector lens can be replaced with TSX Projector housing. Anyways good. Luck

After I get all my parts for my tC project, im gonna work on getting a 2nd pair of Anzos and modding them

yeah, I hear ya, thanks for the quick reply. Think I'll do just what you said. I was really happy with the stock lo-beams, plenty bright, and since I'm in the Baltimore-DC area, don't really need much in the way of high beams. just surprised the bulb burned out so quick (two days). Wish I had the flow for true hid's!!!
