i was just wondering what all of you have pushed your tC to. i myself hit 125 on I-16 here in GA. what about you guys?

I know you said tc but still I hit 80 in my box so far. im not big on the speed though.

modernracer.com says the governer kicks in at 127 i think..... it was somewhere in that neighborhood.

do us all a favor and slow down.... if you need to drive fast, get into real drag racing or autocross or play some gran turismo or something.
...some day you might be speeding around an _______ like me... im not affraid to get in your lane and force you to either slow down or swerve... ive done it to other people.....

 

Uhh.. this is no better than the person that's speeding, and in some states, like ours, it's a bigger offense.

You need a swift kick in the a$$. If you have the nerve to pull in front of people that are going fast, you are intentionally endangering their life and other that may be injured from the accident YOU cause. Two wrongs do not make a right. You can't take the law into your own hands. There are laws against that and the penalties are worse than speeding.

Not to mention you have no idea why someone might be speeding. They might have a baby on the way or a family member in the hospital. How would you like it if you were on the way to the hospital one day with your pregnant wife screaming in your ears to hurry so she doesn't have the baby in the front seat and some a$$ with an attitude swerves in front of you and puts you in the ditch?

ALWAYS put yourself in someone elses shoes before you judge. You may be surprised what you see.

 

i beg to differ. nobody is above the law... speeding is illegal no matter what. if you have a baby on the way, call an ambulance... have police escort you.... if anything speeding is just further endangering the baby.
i usually only do this to people who seem like they're just speeding cuz they feel like it. (swerving in and out of traffic like nobody else is in a hurry)
its not like i look for it every chance i get.

funny... its usually a guy thats speeding too... in a nice car... wonder why insurance is so high for guys under 25

The medical emergency thing doesn't fly anymore. But I agree, swerving out to slow someone down is majorly stupid - just get on the cell to call the cops is all you need to do.

To anyone testing your "top speed", if you are not doing it in controlled conditions like on a track or a video game, you are a dumbass who shouldn't be allowed to drive or even have children.

No matter how "safe" you think you are, and that you "wouldn't be hurting anyone"...think again. Even if you get away with it a couple of times, it will catch up with you. Just think about yourself barreling down the highway at unsafe speeds and for some freaky reason, you have a blow-out, your scion swerves, goes airborne, over the median, and into the car containing a mother and baby. How 'bout when that lone deer runs across the road?

Like the drunk, it's always the lawbreaker that survives while someone's family member is laying in pieces on the road. I can hear you now..."it was an accident"..."not my fault..the tire blew when I was doing 110 and it shouldn't have"...

I wasn't trying to see how fast the car would go, but I needed to pass 5 people in a parade of cars.. it got to about 105, and then I was done passing.

EDIT: and then my girlfriend yelled at me.

 

I've been over 100 a few times and up to about 125 once. The suspension really needs to be stiffer to run at those kinds of speeds on a regular basis.

 

Merging lanes and deliberately cutting someone off or swerving at them are two completely different things, the latter of which can slap YOU with a reckless driving and/or intent to kill (kind of like brake checking someone for no reason). If you think someone is driving recklessly call the police and let them deal with it. Getting yourself involved can get you introuble with the law, or dead....

 

Not a fan of the "top speed" runs on public roads, but I-16 is probably the best, long flat, straight, and no traffic. I have not tried to see how fast my tC will go yet, but I have hit 80-85 just driving around. I found that my old Camry maxed out at 98-99 mph on I-16 a few years ago .

BTW, where you from, my dad said he has seen a white tC around Savannah, that you?

 

dude u just sound like a major _______ to me. No matter what explanation you give for why you do its a stupid thing to do. No ones above the law true, but who the *** put you in charge either? if someone wants to speed let them speed, its got NOTHING to do with you. and ya know if my g/f is having a baby, umm yeah *** waiting for a police escort. They took 45 minutes to show up at walmart about 2 miles from their department building. go figure.

People speed for many reasons, and it really is none of your business why they speed, or your responsibility to "try" and stop them. All you'd do is ____ em off even more and make them speed more. Or one day someone will just ram into your ___ and kill you and him, and then this world will have 2 less _______s to deal with.

Quit being so selfish and self-righteous. Your not here to tell me or anyone how to drive. In fact, if i knew exactly what u drive or where you lived, everytime i see you, im gonna fly by u at 100+ then pull in front of you and slow down to 50.

I personally think its funny... but seriously, if you see some dumba$$ speeding by, let em be... screw em... speaking on a "purely physics" level... if someone is going really fast, ie: has a lot of built up momentum... and you suddenly get in his/her way... youre actually the one whole get smashed real bad (assuming they couldnt stop)... rules of physics buddy... their momentum will finish you off... and theyll barely get hurt... I guarantee it... look it up

 

I hit 122 in my xA a while back and the governor went off, that wasn't very fun. Yea im lying I had fun. But I won't do it again. Yea I'm lying again i definatly would.

 

I don't think the xB has a governor because the engine is so weak.

I got up to 122 in a xB with a intake and a TRD exhaust, it wasn't redlining but I think it would have taken forever for it to get 5mph faster than that.

 

ohh and it wasn't mine it was a demo car.
