Default How should I go about this?

So, in the next 6 months or so I will be doing all of the following...

- getting a lip kit (not 100% sure on which one yet)
- getting 18" (most likely, if not 17") rims
- getting springs (first car I'm going to be have lowered at all, this is where I'm a complete moron)

My question is, in what order should I do this? because they all kinda have a bearing on each other and I dont know which way to go about this.

Your opinions are much appreciated.

i would get springs first.. then depending on the drop i would know on what kinda of lip kit to get because of clearance issues, then get rims.. this is my plan also.. i already dropped my car with hotchkis springs, and i will be getting the rs1 lip kit.. so it wont be too low in the front.. thats jus me tho.. Good Luck..

id say if your going for looks, rims first, then lip kit. and then depending on how much lower you want the car from there, that will help decide which springs to get.

however if you want more so performance, id say get the springs, then the rims. and depending on how your stance at point will help decide which lip kit to get b/c of clearance issues.

if i were u then i would get springs first. a lowered tc on stock rims looks pretty good already. then i would get the lip kit. i have seen alot of tc with lip kits, lowered on stock rims that look kewl. get new rims and tires after u wear out the stockers to save money.

Thats where I'm at in my head (especially not being able to justify throwing away a perfectly good set of tires and decent rims).

But ya, to answer the other post, I'm mostly going for looks performance is really secondary for me - but not neglected.

Thanks alot for all the input.

all depends which springs you get. granted they will obviously blow eventually, ive heard more cases with the TRD spings that blow, than i have heard the Tein ones blow. ive had mine on for a while and its still fine (on H.Techs) and K has been on his S Techs for a while too.

This info is based on what????? I've had Hotchkis springs on the stock shocks for almost 2 years, and more than 40K miles, with no issues.

i think its time for some coilovers tho adrien. i notice that my ride is gettin a lil choppy. i have been on my s-tech with stock shocks for over a year. i'm thinkin bout the k-sport or megan coilovers because they have the most features and cost alot less than tein.

I'd definitely go with the wheels and springs first, it doesn't really matter which order on those two, and do the lip kit last. You want a good idea of your ground clearance before you decide on the lip kit for sure. On the other hand, if you're dead set on a lip kit, I'd get that installed first, then the wheels (those two could be switched, it doesn't matter) and then buy springs accordingly.

If I were looking at 18" rims, what springs would you guys recommend? (I dont really have the cash right now for coilovers, so lets stick with springs) And, conversely, what springs would you recommend for 17"?

Assuming no lip kit.

I have Hotchkis with the stock 17s and it's way too low for a lip kit. If I did it again I'd probably go with the Tein H-techs.

lower, then wheels and wait about 3 weeks that way ur springs settle and then u can just get a wheel alignment once and u dont camber the heck out your new tires. and depending how low u go a lip kit you might run into trouble with constantly scraping...i know with hotchkis springs i scrape here and there depending where i am...im getting better at avoiding it but a lip kit would make the bottom of ur car even lower ..thats my opinion
