I've been watching for all the grounding kit talk and decided it is worth it, if the price is right.

I need help with grounding points, as my kit has NO instructions other than have a pro do it. I am unable to tell a whole lot from pics showing the engine bay after installation, I cannot really tell where the wires are connected.

Anybody completed theirs confidently and be willing to offer pics of their best gounding points?

The one under the valve cover was connected to one of the bolts holding the sparkplug caps on... not the SPARKPLUG...

This was my own kit...so *shrug*

what kit do you have and who did you buy it from? also, how many wires did it come with?

The kit is from CR Performance. And I have 7 wires of varying lengths. 6 of the wires have recommended installation points in any engine bay:
Intake manifold, engine block, cylinder head, alternator, transmission, and head lamp (this one's got me stumped, plus I installed a HID system. Just splice into the current ground wire with my new 8 or 10 Ga. wire?)

I guess if I screw up, the vehicle is just better grounded than it was, no harm. I'd rather get the most out of it though.

Thanks for your help!

Are you sure you bought a kit that was made for your car? the 1NZ-FE has a plastic intake manifold... plastic isn't a good electrical conductor... Probably better to make your own kit....

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the intended purpose of these "extra" grounding wires? s there a thread on this some place?

yeah there are a few posts out there about it. Its mostly to help the car idile better, some ppl with hondas, I have read say it helps the VTEC control & stuff. Some think its a waste while others dont. Also some could help reduce electrical whine through out the car. Just do a search to find out more.

Did you paint that valve cover cover? Looks good.

What do you have in mind this time? I kinda like the paint you have, looks like the red that's used on some of the B-series hondas...

Actually, it's Duplicolor's Honda Milano Red or something... The first time I painted it, I used vinyl dye...didn't work well. The second time, I just cleaned it with simply green and painted it with the spray paint. It seemed to work well..until I got my oil changed. The tech scratched it... I was gonna touch it up, but I'll just strip the paint off and use a adhesion promotor (a type of primer for plastics) before painting...

I made my own 4 ga. ground wire kit. I have 4 wires. You can check it out in my cardomain site, link is in signature below. You can also go to Randode.com, he has a hell of a nice kit and will give insturctions for install also.
