Hey guys, Wanted to share pics of the fun I had tonight doing a very custom project for Steve from Roswell Scion. This was a ton of work and not done with a marker. This is all gel filter work that will not fade over time. Turned out killer! We may tinker around and change the lcd screens to blue leds... Pics cannot do the work justice.

Also from what I know, this is the first reverse hvac screen shown on scionlife, and the first true two color two tone "excluding white being a color" And if you do have an hvac unit with a reversed screen, please post it asap, I wanna see it Would be nice to see other colors than simply the red I have done.

Also to note, these needles glow RED just as if red leds were to backlight them, not the washed out red that you usually see with white leds being a backlight. In all, I am really happy with the way it turned out and the owner LOVES it which is NUMBER ONE!

first two tone, first lcd reversal, first one to swap an '05 and '06 steering wheel for controls.. best 3rd brake light design... first to post mixed colored gauges...

And squall, no need to come on my post and be a dink for no reason. I have been nothing but nice to you and cool offering you ideas on how to expand or help you in any way. Simply stated a fact, it is the first hvac lcd screen reversal anyone on here has seen other than the one locals to you have seen. Uncool man. And yes, your fades were the first and they look good Not my style but if a customer asked, it would not be an issue. LCD screens as you know, most of us swappers have worked them since highschool. But thanks for bringing back the idea to the scion world


And no They are not red led's, The gels I use match the red leds perfectly and look HOT!

Wouldn't be my choice of colors, but looks pretty good.

 

Steve made the color choice to go with his Black cherry tC, he decided on the red and blue as his future headunit is all red and blue which will match perfectly I was kind of... up in the air on the two color look, but it did turn out hot. Just wish the pictures could show led light perfectly. All pics I have seen on this forum just cannot do led work from any of us swappers justice!

 

But I have first HVAC successfully modded to work with blue, white or green leds

I dont think he meant anything harmful about it, I took it he was messing with you a bit. You both do great work and are good guys to deal with, lets not get upset with each other over banter. I reccomend you both to others if I cant get to thier swaps or if they are looking in local areas you are in. And I dont reccomend anyone that I dont feel does quality work.

I also agree, it is impossible to get pics that really show how nice the swaps look. I do one, love it .. get my nice camera out, take pics.. .then cuss because I can never get the lighting just right to make it look like it does in person.

 

Trung and Dave FTW!!!! Sorry Garage1217..... I have to agree with Trung on this one, he was first for the two tone and reversal. I think he has all the right to be bitter for you rippin his ideas and making money off of it. Ohh well.

I never said I was the first to reverse a screen on a scion, I said it was the first posted hvac screen to be reversed. Also I had the freakin polarized film on the shelf from doing reversals to pc equipment years ago, we have all done them to calculators in high school *LOL* This is not an argument unless people like you try to make it one. So no, no ideas were ripped off, if you think I ripped him off, then he ripped the calulator modders off which and in turn they ripped off the lcd screen makers that produced reversed screens before that hahaha. And you could say HE ripped off engifineer "which we all did" for the board mods. I was the first to do purple, yellow and pink but when other modders do the same, I do not cry that they stole my idea. Get a life. All us swappers are in this together. And it is already admitted he is the first to do a white + 1 color non fade two tone. I even gave him props on it. Stop trying to argue when there is no argument*LOL*

All I have done is take items that are already available and take them to the next level. Has he done a two tone with two colors besides a fade? nope, Has he shown an hvac screen that has been reversed? Nope. But I do want to see his because it would be nice to see different colors!

 

It isnt like that though. We all share ideas. If I didnt want people taking my HVAC mod and using it, I wouldnt have posted it. Hell, I will even sell parts at cost to these guys if they are short. Garage has helped me out and offered me some very cool testing tools, which is great of him. Garage wasnt trying to disrespect by saying his was first, he was just advertising. If for some reason I couldnt do it, I would trust either of these two to work on my stuff. Both of them have been very innovative and have come up with some great ideas and great looking designs. This is one mini-industry that has remained fairly friendly and fair to one another and I hope it stays that way. I even recommend people check with both of these two and myself when they have questions. Sometimes they go with my work, sometimes they go with one of these two.

 

Exactly man, could not have said it better myself. When the items come out I am producing to make two tones super easy for anyone, all the swappers will get damn good discounts so they can do the same. We are not in this to fight eachother over things *LOL*

it is nice that my post has stirred up so much drama over nothing at all *LOL* gets us swappers in the spotlight more!
