View Full Version : Party in Puyallup March 7th UPDATED!!!
nwscionman 01-07-2007, 01:55 AM The next gen Tundra is a big deal for sure... we are launching this with a party (food, refreshments, give aways, maybe even a spotlight beaming in the night sky or two...) It would be great to have a PACK of Scion enthusiasts!!
Update:
We had our fist actual meeting about this event yesterday and due to a schedule conflict with our GM, we had to change the date to the 7th. I hope this does not cause terrible conflicts with anyone planning on the 8th. ALSO... at this particular event, we will be focused on displaying the trucks and talking about different aspects, we will be scheduling demonstrations for later that week! Our TRAC (demonstrator) 5.7L Tundra will be here around the 10th of February and any of you that would like to come in for a test drive are DEFINATELY WELCOME to do so. We are putting together an awesome show and again.. it would be KILLER to have a BUNCH of Scions represent'n!! I know how passionate most of you are about not only your Scions but it seems automobiles in general!! Seems like the more all of you know about this amazing beast, the better...
zinker 01-07-2007, 05:12 AM I'll be there

Oh...please say you'll be there!!! Are you going to bring the s2000 out from its winter slumber?!?
I probably will be. I'm going to Phoenix at some point in March, but I can't remember the dates. I think it's later in the month, but I have to find out for sure.
And if it's nice out that night, then I'll bring the S. Otherwise, I'd probably just be in the CRX.
MoScion 01-08-2007, 07:35 PM This is the day before my B-Day!!! I better win a prize... lol jk
Jenna 01-08-2007, 08:37 PM Put me down for a definite maybe. :)
nwscionman 01-09-2007, 10:50 PM bump....
Tomas 01-10-2007, 12:13 AM Gonna set aside a Scion parking area there, Steve? *hint* :D
Tom
mattross 01-10-2007, 01:38 AM That's two days after my birthday. BIRTHDAY PARTY!?!?!? :D
so that make's it the 6th right. If so that's my b-day as well.
nwscionman 01-10-2007, 03:47 PM My B day is the day after
My birthday is in 17 days. So there.
So...can we do burnouts in the new truck somewhere in your parking lot? :D
Well here is my sugestion, Since there are so many Birthdays around that date, then after the party at Puyallup, then I say we all go out as a scion force, take over a well known drinking hole or it does not even need to be well known. We can make it like the Harley riders just with Scions, and celebrate all those birthdays. I buy the first Crown for Steve.
Good thing O'Henry's is only a couple blocks away. :D
they have to sell more than beer though
O'Henry's does. Full bar. Or at least last time i was there, they did. Tequila and jager shots. WOOHOO!!!
 sounds like it's a party then, first we celabrate Steves and hten yours and anyone else that has one and it is a shot for each. And we get to watch you BCS down a whole fourty ounces of beer. At any rate I will come if that is ok Steve and I will bring my unmarked Tundra if that would be more appropriate.
mocascion 01-10-2007, 09:53 PM And for Mo's bday (same day as Steve's)...he'll celebrate by watching everyone else drink :P
kkawana 01-10-2007, 09:55 PM hmm.. and my bday is the 14th of march.. .but i'm told i'll be in vegas or somthing like that for the week
coolio fongoolia.......... Mo can be DD..... sorry everyone I am in a very strange mood today
CLAPhoto 01-10-2007, 11:28 PM That's two days after my birthday. BIRTHDAY PARTY!?!?!? :D
so that make's it the 6th right. If so that's my b-day as well.
Yep. Yay. :D
nwscionman 01-11-2007, 12:14 AM I think a Scion Force party would be fun as hell... and yes, Brian, you can override all the traction stuff by holding the TRAC off button for 3 seconds... 401ft torque will do burnsouts just fine...
Kakai... we are talkin the 8th.. you gonna be in Vegas on the 8th?
kkawana 01-11-2007, 12:24 AM Steve... no.... people were posting b'days up... so i posted mine and mentioned i'll be out of state my b'day week... i should be here march 8th :)

Kakai... we are talkin the 8th.. you gonna be in Vegas on the 8th?
Will I be able to try that out? I'd like to be able to give a good review about the traction control system, and the only way to really do that is to turn it off and give it a good test. :D
Meanlittlemy 01-12-2007, 01:39 AM Sounds like fun. Post some reminders as it gets closer. Don't wanna forget.
Runawayrogue 01-12-2007, 04:31 AM Sounds like fun to me too... any P-town folk want to carpool?
DownhillSpec 01-12-2007, 04:36 AM im cheap so i am always down for a carpool.

nwscionman 01-20-2007, 05:41 PM BUUUMMPP For the UPDATE
Tomas 01-20-2007, 08:36 PM Just to clarify, Steve has an update in the first post:
Update:
We had our fist actual meeting about this event yesterday and due to a schedule conflict with our GM, we had to change the date to the 7th. nwscionman 01-20-2007, 11:33 PM Thanks Tom!!
mocascion 01-21-2007, 06:11 AM :eyes:  :eyes:
Steve, Mo & I are watching the MotorWeek on the Tundra...
? for you...will the Tundra Limited come in the diesel option? When will diesel be available overall and will they be biodiesel ready by any chance (and if so...would that void the warantee)?
mattross 01-21-2007, 06:19 AM CA by my understanding most new diesels are available to run on bio-diesel with no changes. If any changes are required it would most likely be a rubber hose or two due to bio-diesel breaking down certain rubber compounds.
kkawana 01-21-2007, 08:08 AM hey according to mythbusters.. you could get a diesel car to run off used deepfryer oil...only thing you have to do is run it thru a filter or 2 to get rid of the chunks...:P
nwscionman 01-23-2007, 05:43 PM THREADJACKERS!!!! ALL OF YOU!!! (and you know who I mean)
bump..
nwscionman 01-24-2007, 09:07 PM http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h241/spanaway67/burnout.jpg
This is the Auto LSD system in a new Tundra with only the 4.7L... 8)
mocascion 01-24-2007, 09:26 PM So you got one in today right!?!
nwscionman 01-24-2007, 09:29 PM a V6 2wd that was overflow from the sportsman show display.. It wont be here long...
mocascion 01-24-2007, 09:47 PM On the March 7th thing...what time will this party get started???
nwscionman 01-24-2007, 10:03 PM 6:30pm
ok so the truck was not an allocated thingy yet? wheeeeff And I thought we were in toruble cause we have not gotten one yet. Hey now what are you going to sell it for? I haven't seen pricing yet
nwscionman 01-24-2007, 10:48 PM Pricing just hit today and no, this one is not ours and is not for sale they planned to display it at the Sportsmens show and they couldn't work it in and will only be here for a very short time (I doubt more than a few hours)
When I confirm the pricing info I am looking at I will post up! I can tell you all it looks great!
man all I know is now I have t ofigure out how I am going to rade in my truck
nwscionman 01-24-2007, 10:54 PM I still like the size of mine... I like the power of the 5.7 though...
hey don't get me wrong I love my truck it is the right size except when it comes to parking the dang thing. But like you I love the power of that 5.7 liter, and I really like the turning radious of the new one and the ability to tow more weight.
nwscionman 01-25-2007, 06:21 PM I will never tow 10,000 pounds..ever.. and If I did.. I would want a dually diesel. I like the mix of not too big of a truck along with the room and comfort... If I were to get a new Tundra, it would be a 2wd, short bed, standard cab 5.7L with a TRD supercharger, 22's and lowered... probably caged as well... there are a variety of reasons that would be a very very BAD idea.

and when it comes to you I know every one of them
nwscionman 01-26-2007, 08:05 PM bbbbbbbbummmmmmmmmmmp
DownhillSpec 01-27-2007, 03:03 AM i went to the portland auto show last night and sat in the uber tundra (crew cab, full bed, 5.7 and all the goodies) and me and my dad literally had to pick up our chins when we found out the starting price... that thing is huge and hugely affordable.
Tomas 01-27-2007, 04:06 AM MSRP's per the Toyota site

Tom
mocascion 01-29-2007, 06:54 PM BUMP...can't wait to see this sucker close up!
nwscionman 01-30-2007, 12:58 AM those are NOT going to be the final numbers.... the trucks that arrive at the dealership will have options installed and destination included...

mocascion 02-08-2007, 04:08 AM Okay...what's the deal with the CrewMax?
When are those slated to come out? They won't even build & price online. And will it be available in the long bed?
Meanlittlemy 02-08-2007, 04:20 AM Ok... what the hell is bump. I have only wondered that for months and month but felt too retarded to ask. It gonna be obvious I'm sure.
Been outta touch here. We had a death in the family. But were still here. Now explain bump please
kkawana 02-08-2007, 04:45 AM Bumping... is the act of moving a thread to the top of the list... so it stays on the first page... preferably near the top... so it doesn't get lost in other things :)
nwscionman 02-08-2007, 04:56 AM Okay...what's the deal with the CrewMax?
When are those slated to come out? They won't even build & price online. And will it be available in the long bed?
We have several on the lot... std bed, long bed, 5.7L, limited, SR5... come on down!
22k-46k in price (31 flavors to choose from)
31 flavors = the total number of cnfigurations available.. I think we have about 8 or so on the ground with a BUNCH more arriving soon..
I know this is a bit off topic and bordering on a "sales" deal.. I just want to encourage everyone to get to a dealer and drive the thing!! so.. GET TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER AND DRIVE ONE!!! Request a 5.7L... I guarantee you will remember the first time you tickle the throttle... it doesn't feel like any other Toyota you have ever driven..
zinker 02-08-2007, 05:07 AM I may stop by tomoorow to get an oil change so I might have to try and drive one
Tomas 02-08-2007, 08:11 AM Steve, you really need to put some Scion emblems on one of 'em and show up at a meet somewhere... :P
Tom

I love those new comercials. I will be there in my Tundra, and I will try and find some big huge mud bogs befor I cmoe to show off the rugedness of the truck new or old body style. Plus it will make it look like I meant to do it since I am to lazy to wash the thing.

mocascion 02-23-2007, 08:37 PM Confirmed... Bob Rivers will be in attendence!
Dude...Bob Rivers...ahhh...takes me back to my radio days...and my AtomFilms days when he tried to license Twisted Tunes flash to us...
Tomas 02-23-2007, 08:57 PM OT: Seeing KZOK up there reminded me of when they first went on the air. They splashed on the scene with some neat TV ads featuring a clown with a painted hand. In my favorite the KZOK clown lines up four large (three foot?) children's alphabet blocks to spell out "K Z O K"... After stepping back to admire his work, he goes to the "O" block and rotates it 90 degrees, steps back, nods, turns to the camera and with his painted hand right in the camera lens gives the "OK" sign.
What made it my favorite, is turning the block on its side made NO difference - the "O" was a perfect circle. :D
Been a while since I was a KZOK listener.
Tom
nwscionman 02-24-2007, 12:30 AM I listen to KZOK in the morning and the Endd in the evening... a mix of KIRO and NPR otherwise
BLAKBOX06 02-26-2007, 07:49 PM hey guys way to represent the 6th. thats my birthday my aunts birthday and my grandparents anniversary. good day
Tomas 02-26-2007, 08:23 PM OK, Steve, March 7th is getting really close.
Does the dealership have a proposed 'Schedule of Events' for that day?
When are specific 'things' expected to happen, when will things start off, when will they end (when do you want a gaggle of Scions to roll in)?
Even if the 'dealership as a whole' doesn't have things finalized yet, the Scion Folk can get their part choreographed. :P
Tom
I am really sorry everyone, but I am not goingt o be able to make this one, Steve I amreally sorry was looking forward to driving my truck to an event for a change. But I got the surprise yesterday that I will be out of town on business. I will talk wit you all soon, and have a lot of fun.

**edit** This truck was concieved, designed, and built in the USA using all American parts and workers, the only thing imported is the capital to get it going...

Gsnorgathon 03-07-2007, 08:48 PM Hope y'all have a swell time. I think I'll be home, snuggling my bunny.
Tomas 03-07-2007, 09:36 PM Hey, Steve!!! What's for dinner? :)
Tom
Tomas 03-08-2007, 04:32 AM Well, some of the Scion folk showed up and rounded out the crowd quite nicely. The new Tundras were QUITE nice full-sized pickups, with some very nice design features and very beefy parts - especially in the suspension. I was also impressed with the quality of assembly - for example all the body joints were exactly the same around all doors, the hood, the tailgate, etc.
As to what was for dinner, there was a nice assortment, crab cakes, pigs-in a blanket, chicken tamales, beef-pork tamales, tiny little burgers, Jack Danials chicken skewers, Jack Daniels steak skewers, freshly made fries, coffee, tea, soft drinks, etc. along with deserts. All was good, and I especially liked the chicken tamales and the Jack Daniels chicken and steak skewers. All were prepared by Herban Feast (http://www.herbanfeast.com) from West Seattle.
Tom
Adorian 03-08-2007, 04:34 AM mmmm that was a great dinner and I LOVE the new tundra... they forgot to point out that they are total chick magnets too.
mocascion 03-08-2007, 05:15 AM Congrats to Manuel who won the BBQ!
The valet parking made me feel special!
It was nice to see the WATTORA gang!!!!!!!!!!! Its been too long (what...since the SCAAs last year). I wish we could get together more often!
The food was great (if only I'd stop talking and grab some...the skewers kept running out so fast)!!! THANK YOU FOR NOT HAVING A BBQ!!!!!!!!
The gloves were great but since I don't have a yard or a truck...I'm going to have to come up with inventive ways to utilize them (Mike said he's using his as driving gloves).
And THANKS Scion/Toyota of Puyallup for giving me something to dream about tonight.
mdickson81 03-08-2007, 02:54 PM Yay, for gloves. I will be keeping a pair in the car just incase for working on cars and what ever else. I agree with Tomas and CA the food was good.
I wish I could have stayed longer. It was just nice enough to have the top down. I made it home just before it really started raining. =)
When I pulled in, I could see a guy coming over for the valet...and his eyes kind of lit up a little. I could see the smile on his face that said...yay...I get to drive an s2000. He said...we have free valet service. I said...do i have to? hahaha. His smile quickly turned to disapointment.
Anyway...the truck is sweet. I may have to consider it when the crx finally dies. You guys went all out. Good work Steve...and anyone else involved. :)
MoScion 03-08-2007, 06:16 PM This was a great event well planed and executed. I had a lot of fun. It was nice to see everyone who was able to make it out.
...they forgot to point out that they are total chick magnets too.
See CoreyAnn now we can't get the truck cuz I'll have all kinds of girls after me.
ohcanada_00 03-08-2007, 09:15 PM had a good time, sorry i was sick on everyone...cough cough
Those truck just send a thrill straight to my heart everytime i get to see one, I wish you al could have driven one cause then you'd be in love as much as I am.
nice event though and I appriciate being a part of it!
nwscionman 03-08-2007, 09:15 PM While it was a great evening, I am SOO glad it is over! It felt like a mini exposed with all the last minute details. It all came together well, it was AWESOME to see so many Scion and WATTORA folks! I was suprised to see the caterers setting up a deep fryer on site, how cool! I am a big Bob Rivers fan and seeing him there was great indeed.
