When e-mailing them make sure you are formal and professional. Getting a sponsorship is like getting a job, your proposal should be like a resume. The more professional you are, the more likely you are to get sponsored.

+1^^^

the proposal should be the first piece of the puzzle. if it's compelling enough, you will eventually get a sponsorship. it does require diligence and perseverance.

Not to mention, i'm pretty sure most companies have demoed that body kit enough over the last year/year and a half to not want to sponsor anybody for it...u might wanna wait until a new body kit comes out that u like!

I think someone should do a "DIY" on everything you should know to get a sponsor. PLEASE, my wallet hurts.

well, think of it this way (thanks captainlaziness)

it's like getting a job - you want to present compelling reasons why they should invest in you.

you want to relate your experience (shows, trophies and past cars).

you want to communicate the value that you will provide (amount you drive the vehicle, major places it will be seen, special events that you frequent)

photos speak loudly, but you must also present yourself as professional. you don't want to come off as someone just looking for a handout, which unfortunately is the primary motivation for those looking to get 'sponsored'

you want to stand out in the sea of sponsorship applications they see.

uh.... well if everyone gets sponsored by someone or something... full or partial.. that reduces the chances of everyone else getting anything.

so... even if you asked. alot of people aren't going to tell you exactly how... maybe help you get a foot in the door, not even... maybe guide you into the right direction.... but it's a long a rough road.

you kids and your free stuff... it's not about free... getting sponsored doesn't mean you get free stuff for nothing.... you have to work for it... get a clue...

I'm hardly a kid and not just looking for free stuff. I know I have a nice tc, I go to shows, and I have the semi deep pockets to do it myself but why when things can be easier and you can get more stuff. Going to shows and promoting the product is hardly work. Most people do that for the products they pay for anyway. I'm sure you weren't looking for free stuff.
