ElChupacabra 01-10-2007, 05:40 PM I was pretty drunk at the event. Add a blur effect to that picture and it looks familiar...
evilBOXevil 01-10-2007, 05:45 PM Pretty similar to the non-5 axis that I saw!! Little different, but very close. Good find!
Don't know where that pic originated from...perhaps a little intentional disinformation from Toyota/Scion...Hmmm...
CHPRBOX8 01-10-2007, 05:52 PM could be the new version of the bB in japan it has a toyota pretzel on the front
SquallLHeart 01-10-2007, 06:11 PM that website is notorious for using photoshopped stuff...
tabloid worthy crap.

the new bB is already out in japan and it doesn't look like that.
It does bear a striking resemblance as far as overall shape, but there are some differences between what we saw and what is pictured. Since the xB that was shown in Miami was a 5-Axis design with significant modifications, it is possible that this could be quite close to what is produced later this year. As for being exactly what was shown in Miami, I'd have to say no.
YourNameHere 01-10-2007, 06:16 PM isnt that the dawoo logo?
THE_DON 01-10-2007, 08:34 PM Even if it's photoshopped, it's better than all of the "drawings" on this site, and it has all of the characteristics that have been described about it.

That's the second time you've said that- just wondering where that opinion comes from. I've been following the development of the new box from t2b-->now on that site, and they've had some really great and reliable info there. True, they seemed to think we were going to get the new JDM bb for a while, but they always frame their speculation properly.
What I'd REALLY like to know is whether Miami winners are purposefully not commenting on the accuracy of this pic because of an NDA. But if an NDA is detailed enough to require nebulous descriptions and assign a common explanation for them ("I was drunk!"), then I'm sure the NDA prohibits discussion of the NDA, and I'll never know the truth.
cherryBox 01-11-2007, 01:12 AM let's go with "i was pretty drunk" :P

I saw no NDA, the only stuff I signed was for release of the pictures and videos taken.
That xB up there appears to be a drawing or photoshop, and it is a very good one. It's quite accurate, but not 100%
And the new xB is not the current JDM bB.
Big_Bird 01-11-2007, 01:17 AM if that waht it looks like then that's pretty nice

nope

The automotive world continues to look for a hip minivan. Toyota's latest try is the F3R, or Freedom 3-Row Concept. Looking like a refugee from the Tokyo motor show, this angry appliance on wheels is all about the interior. Hybrid powered - of course, it's a Toyota, and the company can do anything with a hybrid powertrain - the F3R has six side doors. The front two are conventional, and the rear four are pillar-free suicide doors with a reinforcement ring, like the Honda Element. They open to reveal a lounge interior, with three conventional rows of seats that can be arranged into a kind of big oval couch, like those family room pits popular in the '90s. The driver's seat reclines and swivels, but the system is designed so that you can't drive the minivan when the seats are configured like this. Even if the driver's seat is in place, the second row can't be reclined while driving because it makes seatbelt use tough. There are two track-mounted video screens and a three-tier instrument panel, the upper strip with a mode for driving and a mode for the lounge. The main floor is covered in a kind of mid-century style recyclable rubber (the front seat area uses recyclable bamboo and the textured seats, set up stadium style in their driving configuration, are of a nice supple non-leather material. Toyota describes the styling as a wedged-shaped profile with a high beltline, but it doesn't really matter. So what's going on here? It looks like Toyota is looking for new interior ideas to freshen the minivan segment. If Tokyo youth can buy bBoxes (Scion xB) as apartments away from home, why couldn't the F3R provide a solution to high Los Angeles real estate prices?
Guamsilverbox671 01-11-2007, 02:25 AM Messin with the pic...

Anyone knows how the Axis kit looks like?
rogcjms 01-11-2007, 03:32 AM hmm i dont really remember what it looks like 100% but it is somewhat of that design. The headlights were projectors though...but the closest pic so far in my mind...

If that's what it is... damn I'm gonna get me one. haha Just the other day I got a letter from headquarter toyota saying that they wanted my car... or.. excuse me.. that cars like mine fetch a good trade in value. Of course this is Hialeah, so... the whole letter was in Spanish. Mind you, I did the whole deal in English (important things like that I like to do in my native language). But I guess they don't keep things like that on file... anyway, back from the derailment, I want me one, but I'll wait till February to put an order with the dealership
RedFox180 01-11-2007, 04:22 PM I don't like it as much.
Taknitez 01-11-2007, 05:15 PM Damn, that looks freakin' close to what people have said and drawn. I'll bet that is it. A little of old Xb, a little of T2b and the new-current Japanese market Xb.
Tell ya' what.....If this is indeed it.....as soon as I pay off my 05' "Original" Xb, I am gonna get one of these as used when it is one or two years old and put it "with" my original.
Can you all see it???......Have this "New" style and the "classic" style parked right next to each other in the driveway.......Now that would be awesome!
They compliment each other.
YourNameHere 01-11-2007, 05:40 PM i think the new one is going to make the classice lookv ery dated and old. but i still love it
toyotaisme 01-11-2007, 05:47 PM http://images.intellichoice.com/images/AutoShows/Big/112_05nyas_scion_x2b01_s.jpg
YourNameHere 01-11-2007, 06:04 PM we rnt getting that. thats the new bB in japan.
yellow_aspen 01-11-2007, 06:07 PM I've been really looking forward to this release but the car in those pics looks so characterless. There's nothing bad about it but there's nothing that stands out either...when I first saw it, it somehow reminded me on a first generation Rav4 or some bland SUV. Now, the F3R that someone posted a pic of earlier in this thread, that stands out. If they could shorten it and...oh never mind... :nails:
jsa3mm 01-11-2007, 06:11 PM I only have two questions about the 2nd gen. xB. Will it have a larger engine? And does it have a 6 speed transmission? We sure need them.
cherryBox 01-11-2007, 07:30 PM sounds like it's getting the 1.8l, as far as power.
as far as that JDM bB - if i had a dolla for every time... :P
RTon20s 01-11-2007, 07:43 PM I'd put money down that the pic from the original post is only a photoshop. And I would lay money down on top of that, that most of the design concepts for that photoshop came straight from drawings and comments on this site.

You could definately afford the new Xb if you had a dollor for everytime. I haven't been on as long as you and I could afford the xd :P as for the 1.8L I remember seeing on somewhere that what was in the Miami event xB was a 1.8L but the reason the VP slammed the hood so fast was b/c that engine wasn't supposed to be in there

I don't think there is a real picture of the '08 xB floating around. So I would say yes, it is a photoshop, and mostly likely you are right, it probably used the statements from alot of miami winners from here.

I'm 99% sure the next xB will have the 2.4 that's currently in the tC. I haven't heard anything about the transmission, but I'd be surprised if it were any more than a 5 speed manual and a 4 speed auto.

hmm... :ponder: i wonder why they did it green with a toyota logo?
rogcjms 01-12-2007, 09:40 PM as i keep checkin out that pic I believe this is what the stock 08 xB will look like. I did go to Miami and see it myself but the xB we saw was modified by 5-Axis of course..but this is as close as to what I can remember in Miami, and I wasnt drunk lol I just slowly lost memory as to what the xB and xD looked like since we only got to see it for about 20 min. Im still deciding weather or not to trade in or sell my RS 2.0 for it. It depends on the price and what I can get for my RS 2.0 and if TFS will let me get my 3rd Scion in 3 years! lol

This could be it. Has a Scion tC look on the front.
absentstars 01-15-2007, 02:52 AM the rumor that went with that pic on the other website was 170hp. maybe its the rav4 version of the camry/tc 4cyl. if theres a sunroof available i'm all in.
scionofPCFL 01-15-2007, 05:17 PM It will have the same engine as the tC, and the wheels will be 5 lug as well.
jsa3mm 01-15-2007, 05:20 PM Will it be possible to make a swap? Swap gen 2 engine into gen 1?
scionofPCFL 01-15-2007, 05:31 PM Anything is possible with these basic tools: Plasma cutter, sawsall, welder, grinder, and know how. Will it be an easy swap? Don't know, but can you easily swap out the tC motor with the current xB? That would be the answer to your question.

YourNameHere 01-16-2007, 06:13 PM thats the same pic
cherryBox 01-16-2007, 06:29 PM it's very similar... :P
YourNameHere 01-16-2007, 06:33 PM its (alot)smaller a diff color and mirror imaged...but its the same.
look at the highlight that falls across the rear of the car.

That is a damn good Photoshop job!!
toyotatodd 01-18-2007, 04:30 AM I have read up on the bB and own a corolla. It really looks like the new pics floating around are on the Avenisiisis platform.
One things for sure, I have done wayyyyy too much looking into a 15-17,000 car.
What ever it is, I'll either like it or modify it til I do.
bB2NER 01-18-2007, 09:45 AM I'll just stick with my original one forever.
Blacklist 01-18-2007, 10:01 AM I like it if its the new xB wouldnt mine havin one, however, I think the orignal has alot more character and is more of a timeless design, which leaves more customization options. The classic is more of a blank slate and I think will look good for years to come, just like some older Nissans and Ducati motorcycles. Glad I managed to pick one up the last year they are produced.
CBSIMONSEZ 01-18-2007, 04:14 PM IMO nothing comes close to the original box. BUT, i have the chance to own one of the first xB2s offered and i did fall in love with it in Miami. Im not too happy with the color options availible, but im not discounting that there may or may not be a release series for the new B. All but the last RS options were all hits in the domestic market so they may carry over to the new line. One can only hope.
Give it a year or 2 and you can pick up an original box for under 10K$. Once the xB2 comes out the resale value on the xB will slowly fall, making for an affordable beater.
