Why so hip-hop based?
Was wondering why exactly Scion is so hip-hop based? Seems like all they promote is hip hop on the cd's and on their site (especially on the new BroadBand, aka "Scion BB" site).
A little off topic (imagine that
) but, I'm sick of going to shows and hearing "Ridin' Dirty" coming from the majority of the cars...Let's hear some Stevie Ray Vaughan or Chris Duarte or at least something different.

Try hanging in CT, or NY..try the whole east side..anyway...I keep my windows up all time...which is why I got them tinted at first..but maybe drivin by the beach n checkin 'em girls out..that I'll lower my windows ;)

They did a Scion Rock Sampler not to long ago...feedback I guess wasn't that possitive. Also hip hop seems to be the #1 genre in music now...

I agree with NAS, where the way he and I view hip hop as a culture, it's not the same. “Hip Hop/ rap” became too commercial where it killed the culture. I hate the term hip-hop to describe commercial rap. The other elements don't make as much as a profit like rap/ the mc.
MC/DJ/B-BOY/GRAFFITI ARTIST
The music culture has changed thanks to the digital age. Indies are the way to go. A fragmented market makes this a great opportunity for independent music.

When i think of Hip Hop, I think more of underground artist trying to emerge that write rymes for the simple pleasure of doing it....not looking to make millions and thats were hip hop is ruined through money and Commercialization.
oh and as for Nas saying Hip Hop is dead...He contributed to the death of it by signing a shoe deal with 310 motoring

I think even just the word "hip hop" has turned pop now. Everything's about the money now...
I'm starting to bump alot of underground lyricists now...I feel like, that's where the message is at.
