Yeah, I don't think a sub could go there either.

Yeah, you don't have enough depth there for a sub with the upper vents in the way...

Why the heck would you want a speaker there anyway... other than doing 5.1 or 7.1?

with some fiberglass dash modification you could have a sub there... it'd be a small sub but it'd be a sub... I would rather have a center channel there though for a 3.1 or 5.1 setup... without adding material on top of the existing dash, you'd have to lose the vent ducts in order to have something mounted in there..

that area doesnt have the depth for a sub. You'd have to negate the air ducts, and if you did I doubt the dash can support the weight and stress.

A center channel speaker? Sure, that's a pretty good location, but not a sub. Not sure I'd personally want a sub that close to my face/ears either ...

don't talk about depth.... SQ10 would fit there with fiberglass... it's only 3" deep... A LOT of subs would fit there with fiberglass but it'd be raised up off the dash a considerable amount (think view distraction)...

If you gut a hole in the dash the distace from teh top of the dash to the air vents is prob. about 1.5 - 2 inches. After taking the dash off for my HUD it does seem a bit flimsy. You best bet would be to fab some kind of mount that attaches to the structures under the dash and then just slip the dash over it. If its 3 inches think it will probably come out an inch or so. If you can squeeze it down to a 1/4 of an inch it could look nice.

I was referring to fiberglassing over the existing dash piece in order to create a solid sealed structure for a small subwoofer...
