hmmm i think its too big for the front and would need to be rear mounted like it is in the mr2...imo a waste of time and money...mind as well just find a mr2 to stick that engine into

its usually done with the paseo and tercels. the tranny for the mr2 is still a transaxle design. which is why i can work in fwd cars. the thing your gonna fight with on this is having it pass an obd II system test.

A company in Australia is putting the 3sgte into a vitz (yaris).

3sgte is HUGE.

if you fit it it will most probably be a rwd tube chassis

A 3S-GTE? Expensive?

hotbox05

yes. 3sgte and 2jz are the most expensive toyota engines to get parts for. both aftermarket and stock.

????????????????
To do a 1zz swap maybe check out the new Toyota Vitz euro T-sport motor mounts I believe it comes with a 1.8 140hp engine which is the 1zz, the mounts should bolt up to our Box???????????????????????????? 6spd tranny might be custom mounted????????

the rail needs to be cut back in order for the larger motors to fit in the xb. I have crappy photos of the yaris from europe.

why not pull one from an all-trac celica

its a 3sgte with an AWD tranny

or if you didnt know already, they make a BEAMS edition engine

i dont know the specs since i cant read japanese

heavy ___ motor. ruins vehicle dynamics.

stick with light and small. like a 4AGE

kustom_play
03-01-2007, 12:15 PM
3SGTE is not a heavy motor, its a 2.0 200hp (usdm)

your better off to go with a BEAMS 3SGE 200hp non-turbo

cessblood
03-01-2007, 03:24 PM
3SGE Dual VVTI Beams is a good motor. it's 200hp to 210hp

kustom_play
03-01-2007, 04:19 PM
yea ive been looking into one for a long time for an MR2 project

they also make a Black top BEAMS for the Lex IS

its a bigger motor i think something like 230 range but i dont think it will fit

its a bit pricy though but well worth it

hotbox05
03-01-2007, 08:11 PM
why would you get the beams motor now? it's not even powerful. you guys do know that with a 3sgte you can get like 600 whp daily , and like 800 whp on a dyno queen right ?

kustom_play
03-01-2007, 11:58 PM
yea what do i know, i only owned/built one for the last 4 years

600 HP is not a daily driven MR2, right now were pushing 480 and its starting to be a problem

im sure since you know so much, you know that the MR2 has a huge problem with snap oversteer

3sgte is not the best motor, the 5SFE is a much stronger block, which you can use the head of the 3SGE and build up that way

but once again im sure you know all this

sign up and learn a bit about the engines your talking about

3SGTE not a strong block?

will you specify which 3S you're referring to as there were a couple different variations?

oh I know. and snap oversteer is a problem with most lightweight rear engines cars.

sorry mid engined. don't go getting high and mighty on me. and yes there are daily 600whp mr2's out there. it might not be the smartest way to build a car but I've seen it done more than a few times , have worked on one , and drove two others. all ranging from about 475rwhp to just over 620rwhp.
