my buddy got a set of 18" wheels for his 2001 civic and gave me his old 17" rims. . . .i am wondering if it is possible for it to fit properly onto my car? will i need to do something about the offset? or is this just not recomended??? any info will help!

The Scion & Civic both have a 4x100 lug pattern & a very similar offset - just about any wheel that fits a civic should fit a civic with no problem.

Actually, do be careful because Hondas can take wheels up to, and over 45mm in offset. And if the wheels are that high of an offset, and more than 7" in width, they WILL rub on your Scion. As long as they are 42mm or below though, you *should* be safe.

just do a test fit and see how everything lines up.

Your best bet is to call up some of the local wheel works or smaller wheel/tire shops. Check out mach III in the SF area too.
