Default Highway ride... WTF?

I have no idea what is wrong with it, but I can never have a smooth highway ride in the tC. It is always extremely rocky and vibrations are everywhere. When I go over 85 I can barely stay on the road. It always rocks and leans to the left. The steering wheel vibrates worse than my washing machine when running. This is a one year old car... yet it feels like a true POS on the highway.

.... call your dealer?

The internet can do many things, but it can't fix your car. The width of the tubes makes it hard to fit wrenches through.

I guess.. but I bought the car from a dealer an hour away. I went to the local dealer but they really couldn't do anything.

Turn your ebrake off and ensure you have tires on the vehicle

Your Best bet is to take it to a dealer to look at.. especially if its still stock height and suspension.

If you've lowered it you may want to see about getting an alignment done. That can cause vibrations and play in the wheel.

If there is a closer dealer you can take it to them you dont have to take it the dealer you bought it from..

Get it checked out and let us know how it goes!

I'm thinking you might need an alignment.

My old tires used to do that, I change them and problem solved. STILL, I'M NOT SAYING THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, NOR THE SOLUTION. Go to the dealer, maybe it needs an alignment.

Maybe you need to balance your tires, after i balanced mine the car drove alot smoother at high speeds.

Drive slower :o I know by me theres just some parts of the freeway you just cant take at over 80 but maybe thats not the case by you, check your tires like everyone else mentioned, maybe make sure your lugs are tight, not sure if that would do it or not.

i would say alignment , check tire pressures tighten lugs... the vibration u described sounds like under inflation/ over inflation and some wheels that need top be rebalanced

yeah its propbably your wheels need balanced. when i got my 18s on my car one wheel had a weight that fell off but i was so excited that i didnt care so i put them on any ways.and when ever i would go above 60mph my stearing wheel would vibrate. so i got them balanced and the problem was fixed.

I don't think that'd cause a problem. I run 37.5/35 at all times and have nothing but benefits (well, the ride is harsher, but whatever).

What can cause problems is different pressures in each tire, pressures lower than 32/29, or higher than 44.
