Okay, I need help...

I needed a ballast and lamps for a warranty repair... (the ballast didn't arrive, but that's another story)

However, the lamps have changed since I had originally bought them. The H4 bulbs now include a halogen highbeam (a welcome addition) however, I'm not sure how to go about hooking these up now...

Originally, the relay harness would connect to the ballast and the ballast would connect to the two leads on the lamps...

Now, the lamps have four leads. One male H4 connector, one connector similar to the one that ties into the ballast and the two original leads for the lamp...

Now, if there's no relay harness, it pretty much makes sense. 3 leads to the ballast and one to the stock wiring... but this seems counterproductive and renders the relay harness (which protects stock wiring) useless...

So, what now? I still need a ballast, so it'll be a bit before I get it... which sucks to be short a headlight...

If your car is an 05-07 tC, you'll need a 9006 harness. If you have an 08+ tC you'll need an H11 harness. As for what light you can see better with, they both put out the same amount of light. Here is the difference between 4300k and 12000k and as you can see, the light output difference is very minimal, so I say go with what color you like the most.

I had a problem with my harness that caused one of my ballast to short out. I called 3bspec and had a new harness and ballast at my door the next morning. I call this service! Thanks Op.

Put my 8000K in took me a little longer than I though because I had to take the fuse box out so I could get the light bulb into the driver side head light. But anyway these lights are so SEXY on my car I will get a pic up when I get a chance. Installing the lights were easy and stright foward. Product is a very good product for the $130!!

As long as your ballast look similar to ours, you'll be all set. Below is a picture of what our ballast look like. Also, we do sell just bulbs, $60 shipped for a pair.

I have a question about the kit that i got, there are two dead end wires on the back of each bulb also coming out of the back of the plug that connects to the factory plug there are two more wires that also just dead end.

Any ideas as to where these go? Also the kit didnt come with any diagrams or instructions :) No worries just curious as to where the wires go though :)

after thinking about it a bit the other two wires coming out of the back of the bulb are the power and ground for the high bulb (guessing) and from reading around onthe net one of the wires coming out of the adapter plug should be a hi/low signal and since the other one that comes out of the back of the blue one is from the same prong as the other black im sure it goes to a similar spot as the other.

However im still not sure where these wires should be tied into so any help would be apreciated :)

as you can see the fitting from the harness is way too big. so i tried to connect the hid w/o using the harness

the connection is too close to each other. so i need a socket. let me know where i can get a socket for my car... like i said, previous orders came w/ the sockets.. what happen to mine?

is that the relay harness?

top two pix are from relay... but the connection is bigger than female h11 socket.

the bottom pix are from the hid to stock h11 female socket. as you can see h11 connects very close to each other, so i need a socket to avoid detonation.

just ordered 2nd kit.....should be here tuesday.

you might have the wrong relay harness if its too big. have you contacted 3bspec? trust me they will have an answer for you quick and resolve the problem

-turn engine on.
-turn headlight on
-right side turns on but the left side isnt on.
-turn headlight off
-turn it back on and both sides work.

would i need to swap the hid bulbs from driver side to the passengerside? or is it ok if i just leave it like it is and just turn it off and back on when it does that? theres not gonna be any problems if i just left it like how it is right?

sounds like you're having a juice problem... double check on the line... something is not connected right.

Judging from the picture, either way you're gonna have to get creative on the mounting solutions. But Cobalt SS fog lights, 92-95 Civic fog lights, or some Hella DE fog lights (but these will only fit H3c bulbs)

where is the best place to put the ballast in the xB?

i opened the box and there's no instructions? and i was comparing my HID's to a different set of HID's from a different company for a tC and there's looks so much simpler.


but i'll give it a second try later tonight. just because everyone says these HID's are really good.

ok. so i was at the Alphasquad meet and a couple of people have plug-n-play HIDs (other company) and tried to hook mine up. nothing worked. i'll take pics.


there is no installation guide either. i ordered the single-xenons but my friends were telling me that i have Hi/Los. it says on the box 6K Hi/Lo

so that's what i'm working with. i will stay up all night if someone can help me.

your gonna use the relay harness not the plug-n-play from the bulbs. so i would just cut those off. run the relay harness to your + on your battery and the black to a ground spot. i would put the bulbs in the house so they are in. then find a mounting spot for your ballast and just plug everything in. keep in mind your just gonna use one side of the sockets to turn on your hids. i'll get the link on for you in a bit

i was wanting to know if the color difference is noticable between 6k and 8k? I know you said the light outputs are all very close, how is the color?

the 6000k is a little more white/blue and the 8000k is pretty much blue

just installed it. very easy. but i don't like how the wires plug in to the factory plugs. i wish they come with a plug to plug it in.
and now i got a question, i have a 08 tc, and under the high beams lights, theres a lil light bulbs there. and it turns on when the headlights are on.

You should be able to get it at Autozone or something. It's just a little ___ bulb haha. Take it out and look at the numebrs on it. It should say.

patrick once again i can say that i will not go to any other hid supplyer, hanh shipped out my order today, i got lucky they had the custom bulbs i wanted instock, and he found the backordered kits localy, if anyone has any doubts about these guys, pm me ill make all your doubt go away

from what ive read on this thread, its the bulb that gives the color, more so the gas in the bulb ...or am i off on this one patrick?

The bulb is what gives the color. So if you wanted to change the color of your set up you would just need new bulbs

I have the 5000K in my car, the Evo has 4300K. In person, they're damn near identical, it's really hard to tell a difference. The one thing is in the picture, look at the left door. It's glowing from the Evo lights compared to the amount of light on the right door. I blame that on my HID's, not that they suck, it's just unfair to compare aftermarket HID's to OEM HID's. I will say that these 5000K's have a lot more visibility than my 6000K did. If you want the blue color and the lighting of 4300K...5000K is the way to go!

Yellow line is the tC cutoff, red line is the Evo cutoff. Also don't forget that the Evo is parked on the left, and the tC is parked on the right.

The tC cutoff is higher because my projector is actually about 3-4" higher than his..We measured and the tC cutoff is exactly stock specs, after the HID's were installed. The Evo headlight adjustment setting, is set to the higest possible (user controlled inside the car, not done manually at the headlight).

couple FYI's for thought when looking at the above picture.

first, you have to remember that the 08 tc is made for halogen bulbs, and the cut-off is never going to be as good as projectors which are made for HIDs. A 6000k kit in an acura vs. a 6000k kit in a civic, for example, may produce very different cut-offs and color bands.

secondly, i've had 3bspec's 5000k in my 08 for several months, and they're not nearly that blue. You've only had your kit in a couple days. they will turn much more white and less blue in a couple weeks. 5000k in an 08 tc, is pure white with no blue color.

5000k has the ever so slightest hint of blue. Also, a lot of our CA customers have used 5000k without much trouble.
