Default Put a screen it the fog light cover...

Ok, so I would like to somehow put a screen or something of the sort IN my drivers side foglight cover. Do you know what I mean, because I want tomake it so that air can go through it and get to my CAI. I am riding without foglight covers right now, because it really does help...REALLY!! Is there anyone that has done that or knows how to do it???

I would just take the factory covers, dremel out a big hole, and fill it with mesh. Shouldn't be to hard of a project.

Yea, check here: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...og+light+cover
A few people have done it drilling out and using a grommet. Looks pretty cool, and functional.

The way some aftermarket bumper makers mount grilles and screens is like this. Get some heavy household single conductor wire (like 12 gauge diameter), cut it in little 2 inch pieces, glue it around the edge of an opening like the fog lamp one from the inside of the bumper so that the wire sticks up from the edges of the opening when seen from the back (use strong epoxy like JB weld or structural adhesive). Then you cut what ever mesh you are using and put it over the protruding ends of the wire from the inside of the bumper till it sits flush on the rear of your hole. Bend the wire tips down over it so it secures it. Bend the wires away from the opening so when you look in it you can not see them. Actually works pretty well, and not hard to do. You can also unbend the wires and remove the screen later if you like for annual cleaning or whatever...put it back and rebend the wires to hold. Copper wire this size will allow this a number of times before breaking.

Why do you say that? I noticed a difference by just taking them off.

I got mine from proshopxB. He took and cut out square holes in both covers and grafted pieces of the stock honeycomb grill material into the holes so they match the 2 lower grills. My CAI likes the added airflow these covers provide.

Here's mine. I used the top grille from the Mr Grille set and did a little cutting, bending, and fabricating. I have a short ram that sits pretty close to the opening and I agree with hotbox05, it's for looks only.

I'll revise my comment to minimally functional, not enough to be worth it if you don't like the looks.

agreed. although short of a supercharger everything for this car falls into "minimally functional, not enough to be worth it if you don't like the looks." hahaha i love the box!

rain will do nothing, everyone thinks this but it is not true. Unless you drive thru like 3ft deep water to the point where you intake is submerged and sucks up water. Rain will do nothing. I will say though, mine is purely for looks

Even if that's true, here in Arizona we get very little rain so the drainage isn't always good. That's especially true in Tucson where washes cross a lot of roads, and even on the Phoenix main streets and freeways. It sometimes rains very hard and the pumps and storm drains can't keep up. There have been several people in the state hydrolock.

I'm not arguing with you, just saying why I don't have a CAI and trying to word it so neither side of the issue gets offended. Guess I failed.
