Default Benefits of the Emanage

Well, seeing as how the antifouler mod did not work on my car I am going to just say F it and upgrade to the emanage to get rid of it...

Here is my question though...I have read on the forums that it is a very difficult process to get installed (especially since I am not very car savy, I have done all my own exhaust work so far but that is just bolt ons) and that it is also something that should be tuned right after the install.

The tuning part of it I can understand. There is a shop in Hunington Beach that will do it for me (although I do not know the price) along with the install if I want them to do that as well.

I wanted to try and save some money though. Is there anyone here who has had a successful self install, getting rid of the CEL, then got it tuned somewhere else? Also, if I have I/H/E setup will there be anymore gains for the car?

Or should I opt out for the CEL eliminator and see if that works instead? I don't mind getting the emanage if I can tune the car and get another 15ish horses because that is another performance upgrade like buying a new pipe.

If I am staying N/A...for now...should I get the standard Emanage or opt out for the Ultimate? The ultimate is 2x the price but will it be worth it for now? I am very skeptical to getting this simply because of the hassle people have had with it.

Bottom line, for the price (as well as getting rid of the CEL) is it worth the upgrade to the new piggyback?

Its not going to get rid of your CEL. The Greddy E-Manage is for piggy-back ECU purposes. Your throwing a CEL because your secondary o2 is detecting a cat missing due to your header. CEL eliminator worked for me except for when i drove on the highway for more than 15 minutes @ 90 MPH.

If you get the E-Manage, with your current setup, and a good shop to tune it for you, you should get about 10-20 more HP. The emanage is not for someone to install themselves that no nothing about tuning a car. Its a little more advanced than putting a header on. Find a good shop thats tuned e-manages before, and ask them a price for the install and tune. Most shops were i live charge 145 an gour for tuning. if the shop has to splice your wires they may charge you for the extra work, or you could opt out and by the jumper harness for 300 bucks.

Whatever you do, it will cost you a little money. how much are you willing to spend?

thats the thing, I called up EDOPERFORMANCE over in hunington beach and they said they could wire and tune it for me and they will call me with a quote soon. I am hoping it does not sink me into a hole.

So, the emanage will not get rid of the CEL? I thought it did =/ That is my main issue. I really want the computer and the car to run well with the header. I do not want the car to bog or run rich/lean because the ECU is thrown off from the header. So will the Emanage enable me to run the car normally again like it was before the header? Or am I talking out of my ___?

E-manage WILL NOT GET RID OF U'R CEL. U are just looking for an excuse to buy it. It's cheaper for a good scanner to get the dang CEl off. A good Scanner with software and all will be around $150. Easy fix.

If an anti-fouler didn't work with you, I don't know whats going on. Mine has been working since my dad put it on and it's great! With the e-manage, I'd hold off on getting it and wait to see if anyone has successfully tuned their tC (N/A) and then get it.
