Ok so I just got my ST suspension anti-sway bars and i'm going to install them either tomorrow morning or over the weekend. Can anyone offer any advice or tips before I do this. I already know that...

1. The front is a pain in the @$$ to install

2. Jack up the car on both sides before attempting install

Is there anything I should do?

 

I was going to get the ST sway bars, but I didn't hear any feedback on them. Let me know how they are after install. I'll be watching this.

 

uhhhmm.... if you can, have someone help with the front. its a bit of a pain as you've heard.

the back is a joke.

take your time. thats the best advice.

oh and be sure to put lots of grease on bushings. people seem to have issues with that. though i never have in 2 years. but then again, i used enough grease.

 

what kind of grease? bearing grease ya? any preference on the brand. And I will for sure let you know how they are...

 

I think any plain old white lithium grease.

 

I would think they would come with some sort of bushing grease. If not just pick up some suspenion bushing greace from and auto store.


Yes the front is a PAIN! Be ready....it will take time.

Would you mind posting a pic of the sways? I wanna see if the front sway has stoppers on it to keep it from sliding from side to side.

I'm going to have my friend take pics as I install them so it will kinda be like a DIY for n00b's or people who aren't sure if they can do it or not.

 

i have the trd rear sway bar and just purchased the front st bar for like 96 bucks that why i bought it. how would the handling be with 2 different bar the trd bar is 22mm and the st is 24!?

 

don't know i couldn't tell ya what the front feels like. give me a day or two, i have to work it into my schedule. If I can get up early enough it will be done tomorrow. If not I will have to do it on Saturday morning... then I can let you know how the front feels.

 

No stoppers, no thanks.....learned that lesson with the hotchkis sways.

 

what happens with no stoppers? can you take off the stoppers from you oem sway and put it on the aftermarket one?

 

Now i'm curious... what do you mean "stoppers"? Is that a vital piece to the ASB that I should have?

 

I am reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyy curious to see what the hadling feels like after this install.... I just bought a set of Hotchkis only because I did not get any feedback on the ST's. I could not find that much more information on stsuspensions.com either. I didn't want to regret not spending an extra 30 dollars for the tried and tested....

 

btw, wtf are stoppers?

actually dude, when i install them if you want to meet up somewhere and see the difference in your hotchkis and my ST we can do that... i'm like 10 minutes north of chula vista...

 

love to, but cannot drive for about another month due to recent injury..... have not installed the hotchkis bars yet. I am down.... just give me about a month....
