Ok So I picked up the Area 51 Strut bar support from SoCalBox today! and im planning to install it tomorow! Just one question Dose anyone know the torque specs for the strut tower nuts after I remove them to install the support bar?

Since I had no reply here! I called Toyota and the Service writer called me back and told me the torque on strut tower bolts was 29 FtLbs! just incase any one else wants or needs to know!!!

i woulda said "TIGHT"

but ive removed enough struts to know how much tightness it should have

Oh, and if you've never installed one before it helps if you put it on jackstands so the wheels are an inch or so off the ground. It allows for pushing down on tire to drop the strut studs to allow the insertion of the strutbar over the studs. I tried it without doing this and got really frustrated. LIVE AND LEARN enjoy :!: 8)

Make sure you loosen the bolts while its on the ground. Then place the strut bar in its proper orientation and thumb tight the nuts back down adjusting the bar for position. Then lift the Scion off the ground making sure neither tire is touching. Torque your Bolts to the 29 lbs then tighten the adjuster nuts on the sides of the strut brace if so equiped. there, you just now put your strut bar on corretly.

Hey thanks for all the replys! All in all it took me 30 minutes to install the support bar! Thought someone said this was hard??? LOL JK! I am a mechanic! Just couldn't find the torque specs!! Thanks for all the pointers!!
