yeah, watched it for the first time last nite. i was surprised. its pretty cool. a lot better than i expected.

it kinda plays out like a comic book. sure, its a little over the top...but WAY better than 24 and the power of bauer bs.

Excellent, we now have an official Heros thread.

This is the first show i can remember being excited about from the get go, and it hasn't dissapointed. Started off slow, but I could see the potential, and now I'm hooked.

Indeed. Earl is the funniest thing on the tube right now, and NBC has put together another Thursday block of good ole fashioned 30 min sitcoms for Thur. night. Time will only tell if it's as strong as the Cosby -> Family Ties -> Cheers -> Night Court line up from the 80's, but it is a strong one.

NBC owns or is owned by the same company as Sci-Fi. They share shows sometimes like that. They did it with Surface last year.

I hope it goes for a couple of seasons at least, but it does seem like it will have to have a finite story line.

She didn't kill herself. She came into the room not realizing that she wasn't going to be able to control him, and he telekinetically yanked her through the glass. Either that killed her directly, or Syler killed her right after that and then "ate her brain" or whatever it is that he does.

So, before I thought it was the Haitian dude was blocking mental powers, but it appears that Clair's step dad (can't recall his name) is the one that can do that. Eden couldn't control him, the cop can't read his thoughts, and Syler couldn't do anything around him.

the hatian was there when Parkman couldn't read his thoughts tho, look in the crowd. and [clair's dad] already said that the hatian did it.

The Hatian dude was there for all of them, except the one time he went to see Syler after the caught him the first time, and Syler was unable to do anything. Or was the Hatian outside the cell and I just recall?

But then again, what kept Syler from picking up the cot or whatever, and just smashing through everything going for the great escape? Lots of questions, and I doubt they'll all be answered.

Hopefully they know ahead of time if the show gets cancled, so they can wrap stuff up before the final episode.

Claire's dad is kinda the opposite of Peter, he can block people's powers where Peter will pick up your power.

I think NBD+C is starting to enjoy pretty good success with this show, they seem to advertise like people are realy anticipating it. I don't think it will be cancelled anytime soon. And who says it has to end after they fix this blowing up the city thing? That can just be an intro story to the whole series. Think of the things taht can come out of all of these people with superpowers! I think we can enjoy a long ride (or lon enough) of Heroes.

Unfortunately, Scifi show Fire Fly is the exact show I was thinking of when I voiced my concern. It went for "summer" break and never came back, while Alias knew at the end of one season that they had to wrap it up in the next season.

Sci Fi fans are CRAZY for details. I think the business card shows NBC's attention to detail too, tho.

Well, the business card shows the marketing dept is on top of things. But the ins and outs of the show itself is another thing altogether.

I did forget about NBC's ownership of the Sci-Fi channel, but honestly, can you name a show on that network that they have control over that doesn't suck? Mostly it's just syndicated older shows and C grade movies.

Who knows, maybe it's just something they are leaving off for wonderment for the time being. Time will tell.

Yeah, he can manipulate electronics and machines in some way that hasn't yet been completely addressed. In one episode he made a pay phone work w/o paying, and in another, his Grand Father gave him a laptop. He took into his room and took it apart, and gramps was ____ed. It also gave clues as to what happened with Jessica and a little bit of the family history. It's dark.

there is no way the cop will die, i read an interview, and they said hes in it for the long run, so we'll see. And as fa as Nathan being her dad, i'm surprised more people didnt see that coming. First, they have said noone is safe! My feeling is that they are going to kill Hiro. I know he is going to "save the world" but I think he is going to do it from the other side. In the one picture he has the sword and is fighting a dinosaur.

9th wonders is the best sight for information. If you want to speculate some one more then likely has already so look into it. Theese guys on the board have watched each show like fifty time to notice any little thing that has been embedded in the show it is like reaping the benifits without have to do all the work.

The powers are embedded into their DNA strands and that is why Sylar has to consume a part of the people he kills so he can pick up the DNA strand that that person has. That is also why the children of heros are born with a power as well.

I have never seen Lost, but over the past couple of days I have heard things that seem to link Heroes to Lost.

1. Do some people on the Lost island have powers?
2. Somebody in this last episode of Heroes said something like "you know what they would do with people like us?" Someone else replies "yeah they would put us on an island and do experiments on us"

FOLLOW-UP: DO LOST AND HEROES SHARE THE SAME WORLD?

A couple of weeks ago, I shared with you my theory that the exec producer of Heroes, Tim Kring, and the exec producer of Lost, Damon Lindelof, are in a secret creative alliance, and that their respective stories share a common backstory mythology. To wit: The Hanso Foundation/The Dharma Initiative is the agency responsible for the outbreak of super-powered humans in Heroes.

In response to the theory, Kring, who happens to be good friends with Lindelof, revealed that the two men have indeed discussed the idea of creating some kind of creative synergy between the two shows, although the reality of Lost and Heroes being on separate, competing networks makes that somewhat complicated if not impossible.

I recently had the chance to run all of this by Lindelof. For the record, when I asked him if it was true that he and Kring had discussed the possibility of a Heroes/Lost team-up, this was his reaction:

''Totally true. And if Hiro can teleport ANYWHERE, wouldn't YOU watch him team up with Hurley to find the rest of that four-toed statue?''

Simone Could always be brought back but it is unlikely. Also to awnser the other Question Yes we have seen the Gun used to Kill Simone before. It was when Hiro went into the future and saw Isaac dead thinking he commited sucide.

Anothe question that is being asked on the 9th wonders board is do you think Ando has powers as well. Because when they avodid being shot by hope it seemed a little strange that the gun was kicked to the side? :eyebrow:

The gun wasn't kicked to the side. The Bullet was slowed down and pushed back into the gun causing it to move back. I was under the assumption that Hiro got his power back and did it. Maybe it was Ando?

Ah I do love me some Heroes and can't wait to see the answers that they have in store for us next week. You can't help but love Hiro, he is so nerdy, I lived with a bunch of Japanese people and not one of them was as "otaku" as Hiro is.

Well they've said that the new season isn't going to follow the survivors from this one. They want to start a whole new story line apparently. Some of the people from season one are going to pop up in season 2 but it won't follow them.

i read that season 2 will introduce more characters, but that it will still be following the survivors. It makes sense that certain people will b here for multiple seasons. Like Hiro, he has a future self, so he might still be around for a second season. Maybe peter and claire too.

Somewhere he picks up some uber mind control powers (like that one girl who could make people do things with her voice or mind or whatever) and makes the whole US vote for him. Then.... he cackles madly in the Oval office? Then,.... he starts a nuclear war to get rid of all the baseline normal people in the world. Er, he then starts mating with all the women he can get to recreate humankind in his image with his stolen powers and revised genetics?

the 1/2 fight between skylar and peter was awsome. when peter became invisible, and skylar was like wtf!

then when skylar killed the junky painter dude, that part was sick, how he impaled his arms and legs with the brushes. and what was that dude talking about, "show them how to kill [skylar]??"

I think that was still Nathan, I just think that it was the way that Sylar will be painting. Remember, he's not an artist like Isaac. So I doubt his pictures are going to be as "nice" as Isaac's.
