Default TRD Intake?

Couple weeks ago; I got the TRD Muffler installed. Sounds tight...Anyway, I'm aware of you should install a intake for better performance and engine would run so much better also. I saw the different reviews about the TRD version and I don't have the problems spending the extra cash for it. I would love to keep everything Toyota/TRD as much as possible.

My two concerns are..."Is the TRD Intake okay with an automatic?" I tried searching for a straight answer but couldn't find it. And; "If it's okay; any serious problems occur?"

Thanks!

I'm hoping to get good answer before I put in a order at the dealer today...

There are no problems with putting intake on an a/t car. All intake does is allow the engine to breathe better...has nothing to do with the transmission.

EDIT: Just make sure you get the intake for your model year. If you have an 07...be specific when ordering.

yes, make sure TRD makes the intake for the 07MY. Are you planning to have the dealer install it? Is there a reason why you would buy from your particular dealer?

If you'd like you can go with AEM and save some money, TRD doesn't really manufacture their own products, they just slap their names on others and use it as their own. AEM = TRD as far as CAI for the tc is concerned. the only difference is that they paint it different and put a TRD sticker on it.

She might be concerned with maintaining factory warranty and all that. I believe the intake is also warrantied when installed at a Scion/Toyota dealership.

You get raped on the price, but I guess for some people it's worth it.

The TRD intake does not carry a warranty.

+ I think the 07 intake is not out yet but you can get the Injen or Fujita cause they're out and will get the same sound/performance more or less and will pay less than TRD.

PS: TRD exhaust and Injen CAI sounds awesome I have it

TRD is a waste of money b/c it's just there for looks. You get almost nothing out of the intake and almost as much out of the axle back. It's just sound/looks. Just go aftermarket, save money and be happy. You'll get better gains with an Injen intake and a full header back exhaust.

About warranty: You can modify your car and it can still be under warranty. Just make sure the parts are installed correctly, they are the correct parts for your car, and they aren't the direct cause of anything that happens. That's it.

Just b/c it's from TRD doesn't mean you're safe and everything will be covered.

Well reason why I want it from the dealer is; I don't own a credit card to buy different one online. I know it won't mess up your warranty. It's just I have to pay in cash and I thought the dealer would be easiest to do so.

I've seen dealers distributing Injen parts or you could also try a speed shop.

PS: that is too much snow in your avatar!!
