So it's that time, Neothin is FINALLY get an audio system!
First of all, i'd like to thank Chris (Mandos) over at Elemental Designs. This guy stayed an hour after eD closed just to get my order done. Thanks Chris!
Alright, here's the scoop-
Front components- eDi6500s 6.5" 2-way components
component amplifier- NINe.2
Subwoofers- two JL Audio 10W6v2's (got them at an AWESOME price)
Subwoofer amplifier- NINe.1
Deadening- 150 square feet of v1SE^2
Wiring/misc-
0 awg Big 3 Upgrade kit
0 awg dual amp kit
Scion tC front door baffles
soundgate 4 channel line out converter
2x V10 17ft RCA cables
about that NINe.2... you wanna hear service? eD is currently out of stock of new NINe.2's, so he went and looked through the pile of rebuilt ones. all of them were scratched and scuffed, and i just cant deal with that. What does Chris do now? He goes to the xB outside, and pulls the cosmetically and mechanically perfect NINe.2 out of it and puts it in the box for my order
What a guy!
One thing that y'all are probably going to be asking about is my lack of a headunit. I know... big system run off a lineout coverter hooked to the oem HU? well... i want a double din indash eclipse, and i just dont have the cash to get that right now. for the time being, this will be fine.
i've already got the box and stuff done, as a few of you browsing this section of SL have probably seen, i've already got the dimensioning done and the cutboard has been made-

the stock hatch floor is going to be used as a template for a new MDF floor. i'm going to cut a hole into the floor and lay some plexiglass into it. Underneith will be the 2 amplifiers lit up by blue cathodes. i'd eventually like to get the scion logo frosted onto the plexi, but i have to find a place to get that done first.
all the pieces should be here next tuesday. work will be over the span of a week or two. i'm trying to get teh system done in time for a show on february 10th

Excellent choices. Have fun with the deadening! My car is still in pieces, so I can't tell if it makes much of a difference yet, but it killed my fingers laying it as best as I could, so it better!
And I hope you bought the roller with the eDead. Best extra $12 you could have spent with it.

yeah so this tc forum is new to me, but lets give her a try...
so what happens when a redneck and a tc driver in the middle of a box build take a 1991 chevy cargo van and go to home depot?????
sorry, pics are blurry.... i have no idea how to use a camera

and what happens when the dash lights no longer work in said 1991 Chevy Cargo Van???Improvise!

got everything back to the house (easier said than done, esp when it started to rain...)

and set up shop... why the xB moved out of the garage instead of the Malibu, i really dont know...

Then we figured out that the sawhorses we were using to hold the MDF off the floor created a bow in the wood.... so we fixed that...

oh and, yeah.. the build is going on right now... more pics in about 30 min

Yeah, more pics...
kinda looking like a box

used just a few screws...

18 volt makita torque-matic drill with more power than my xBs motor > you X 100

well, we had to do a little sanding, and when we fired the sander up, the rubber pad came apart.....
the reason we stopped, and yes im suing

and how are we making it throught this instal so quickly you ask???
