View Full Version : speakers myzer 01-26-2007, 01:07 AM elemental designs or mb quartz? Zebman 01-26-2007, 01:09 AM Depends what MB Quarts speakers. I have Discus components and coaxials waiting to go in. I haven't heard them too much, but I liked the ones in the wall at the local audio place. myzer 01-26-2007, 01:12 AM Elemental Designs eDi 6000s v.2 System and MB Quart RCE164 which one would be better? Zebman 01-26-2007, 01:47 AM I've heard the Reference ones, which, with a little sound shaping sounded wonderful. I haven't heard the Elemental Designs, but the 6500s sound like a good pair of performers too. Don't know about the 6000s. rocketgyrl 01-26-2007, 02:00 AM What's your budget? Obviously the car audio market is flooded with numerous brands and then those brands often have a few lines within them (re: "good", "better", "best"). Unfortunately, the correlation between price tag and sound quality isn't always very strong. Add in personal preference and I don't see how anyone can suggest ONE brand to anyone else without knowing a little more about what he/she's expecting (see my previous/above questions). A car audio SYSTEM is broken down to: 1/3 equipment, 1/3 install, and 1/3 tuning. If any of those components are lacking, you're not getting the most for your hard earned money...but I digress. Here are a few suggestions of speakers I've used that I feel have a good "overall" performance, and are an outstanding value: Image Dynamics CTX series Oz Audio Vector series Arc Audio KAR series All of the above can be had for under ~$180 for a 6.5" component set, and even less for a coaxial version. If you need help finding them, feel free to contact me. I'll be happy to help with install tips/tricks too. Cheers, Robyn |
