i ordered my scion xb saturday, and i was dismayed that the alloy 15" rims arent available....i liked the spoked 15" rims and it was a 665 dollar option....they said only thing available is the hubcaps....and 1800 rim and tire packages they had on display.
anybody know why they dont offer the alloy rims anymore??

Scion seems to keep shuffling wheel options and can't even keep their own website in agreement.

Under the accessories list, it shows 15" 7-spoke wheels for $665 and 18" 5-spoke wheels for $1795. But when you go to the build & price section, it shows 15" Enkei alloys for $595, 17" Enkeis for $1650 amd 18" 9-spoke wheels for $1895. Go figure.

i saw alloys under the accessory list, but not when u build ur vehicle....
didnt see the enkeis, unless those are the ones i saw....
at any rate, the dealer said they werent available for '05, which really sucks...
i like how the 15" alloys look and theyre the price i wanted to spend.
sorry, i dont want to invest 2k for pimp rims and high performance tires for my xb.

You should be able to find a decent set of 15" rims and tires for close to that price aftermarket. Do a search on eBay for Scion wheels and you'll see tons.

Justwheelsandtires.com and wheelsnext.com regularly have 17 inch wheel/tire combos from $499 and up. 15 and 16 inch one are a little bit less. 17 inch combo rides just as nice as the OEM combo, but handles much BETTER 8)

My xA has the fat 6 spoke ones. I like 15'' rims because they aren't too big or heavy like the optional 18 and 19s. I want my car to handle well and be as fast as a slow car can be so I don't need extra stuff weighing it down.

The weight difference between a 15" and a17" aluminum wheel is going to be very minimal at best and you won't notice it in a Scion anyhow. But the handling will be a LARGE improvement. So why pay $650 + for 15" alloys when you can get a combo in 17" for less, wheels and tires delivered to the door ready to rock. 8)
