Any solid ideas on the stock engine's life vs. a supercharged engine? Given that you run both the same--wide open most of the time. :D

well, a forced induction engine will not last as long as a stock engine if you are always running it hard. but, like ^^ they said, it is a toyota.

 Give me a break Brother, this is a no brainer! It all depends how you drive it . A supercharger will absolutley reduce the longevity. You baby it and it will go whatever 150-200,000??? Ive killed two toyota engines bolth @the 40-50,000 mark but they were very abused on my part. As for the 180,000 in japan doesnt japan mandate that engines with over 50,000 be replaced??It would take 10 years to put that much milage on a car in japan id think? :?:

I was waiting for someone to point that out! Thats why I put a couple of smiley after my responce. I knew someone anal would bring that up instead of making the gag go longer. :( I buy engines from a place here in town who carries those kinds of engines from japan. And yes your right about everything else on the wear of the motor, but I was actually having fun until you killed it :o

Gabe, "YOU" had a Scion go to 180,000 in Japan!?! I thought "Scion"s were only in the US, and they were "bB"s in Japan. 180,000 what? blocks? miles? kms? And aren't engines replaced every so many miles in Japan? I didn't know you lived in Japan. I thought you lived in the South Bay.

If you're going to baby it, what's the point of having a supercharger?
