So I threw out an idea to Dr. Isotope about making a custom piece of ABS (like his radiator pannel) to cover the hole where the CAI drops down into. It would be a small cutout to cover up and mount to the inner fender wall with a circle opening large enough for the intake pipe. This is for us CAI owners that have had the mounting bracket piece break off our CAI's and are now loose. This new piece would support the tube from vibrating and hitting the inner fender wall lining.
I'm going over to Doc's house this Sunday to test fit and make these pieces for us. I just wanted to see how many ScionLife people would be interested in purchasing a piece like this.
****UPDATE 2/4/07****
I went over to Dr_Isotope's place today and he created this wonderful piece in about 2-3 hours.
No more cold air intake vibrations/rattling over bumpy roads! It's very secure and sturdy. We removed the original metal mounting bracket also because that was causing some squeaks. CAI owners who have had their mounting tab bracket break off... this is a MUST GET! Doc will be selling these for $17 shipped on his website.... CHECK THEM OUT HERE: http://www.doctorisotope.com/
Here are some pics...
Finished Product:

Installed:

All hardware will be included... (the bold/washer to screw it in place and the rubber seal around the intake hole).
What do you think?
These are the diameters for the intake tubes we have so far:
K&N = 2.75"
AEM = 2.5"
INJEN = 3"
TRD = 2.5"
FUJITA = 2.75"
If you know any others please let us know.

Not all intakes are the same size. This would be a nice finish piece if it came to fit various intakes and had a rubber lip at the fender and the intake so there were no rattles.
I think it would be a nice idea to do this and for those who have the cai before the bracket break(sp) this should help the cai to hold better thus helping the bracket!
for the idea!
