Default Spray painting lipkits...

Has anyone ever done this?? Ive heard a few people on here say that they have spray painted their lipkits... JW how it turned out...

I spray painted mine, with a spray gun and professional automotive materials. I suppose you could spray can them as well but I have never seen spray can primers and finishes that would hold a candle to the materials I use on a day to day basis in the body shop.....possible exception some semi gloss SEM trim and bumper paints.

Hmmm, okay... Im sure someone around here in Orlando can paint my kit for cheap or even for free if i find the right person. Thanks though.

since you have an RS3, i bet it would look cool with a semi gloss black rattle can job. just lots of even coats in a dust free and well venelated garage. or wind free driveway.

but if you want it done the right way, you gotta pay the right way :-P

You could do it. But to make it look really good (OEM-ish), you're going to have to do a lot of wetsanding.

I think a spray painted lip kit will not match the car paint-wise. I think you should spray paint the whole car and then it would match perfectly

LOL It still might not match!! Often metallic and pearl paints settle differently on plastics than on metal (electrostatic property differences mostly) and therefore will show a different color slightly. And think of all the wasted spray cans

You say that cuse of your fancy paint there

if its for a 2 tone app like maybe the lip kit would be black and green would look good
