that seriously is the ugliest car ever, it's not like Nissan was trying to cash in on the idea of more extreme box dimensions that were applied by scion

Actually if I remeber correctly the cube was out before the bB. Either way there are tons of boxy vehicles like this in Japan. Scion was far from the originator.

The rumor is that Nissan decided to wait until the cube is redsigned in the near future and we will get the redesigned model probably in the 2009 production year. I'm definitely not buying the new xB, so this may fill the spot for a boxy UUV Scion has abandoned.

Oh hell yea! I love the Nissan Cube!
I'm hoping they really come over in 2009 like I keep hearing. If they do...sorry xB, you're out the door!

Nissan was my first love anyway. My ____ty old Sentra never let me down!

that facelifted cube was supposed to make its way to the states but got cancelled

It got cancelled because they decided to wait another year until it is completely redone. They decided it wasn't worth it to bring it to US specs for one year when they could release the new one in 08.

I'm gonna hang on to my VW til these come out. The new xB is horrible.

Edit: Actually only the front end and engine used in the xB are horrible. But it's reason enough for me not to buy one.

Cool, see you in two years when the gas prices are $5 a gallon and you're paying $60-70 dollars to fill up the new xB.

Those of us concerned with gas effeciency and the environment will be laughing at you the way xB classic owners laugh at SUV drivers now.

I'll wait for the cube or the 09 fit hybrid.

Oh and let your kids enjoy Florida while they can. The prevailing attitude of bigger is better will have Florida mostly underwater by the end of the century.

You can research it more at www.climatecrisis.net/thescience/

How can so many people be saying that the Cube is ugly? I guess you can only say this if you hate the front. Look at it from the windshield back and it is basically an xB.

So me driving an xB will contribute to florida being underwater? Hmm I better start walking and holding in my farts.
Do you seriously think people will be considering the xB a gas gussler?? Cause thats the first thing I thing of when I see a 60's camaro or a classic Mopar. look at the loser in the gas gussler. NOT!
I do find it funny how somebody from TEXAS says Floridians have a bigger is better attitude????

Anyways what is wrong with people not knowing how to joke around anymore? Seriously?

Fist, I was talking about the next xB or xB2 or whateveryou want to call it. I consider getting 23 mpg for a car it's size a pretty big gas guzzler. Secondly, I didn't say Floridians had 'bigger is better' attitude I was talking about American in general.

Seriously...whats wrong with the Cube??
I mean, at least this car owns its cube-ness...heck, its even named the Cube! If you're going to have a box for a car, damnit...make it as boxy as you can get!

Scion neutered the next gen xB by rounding it out for a broader audience....in my oh so humble opinion.

I was raised by a Nissan fanatic My father, up until recently, always had one Nissan 280zx in the garage. I've owned 2 1989 240sx(s). I had normal problems, but not anything major. Of course, those were older models and from what I understand about newer Nissan models...they aren't anything to be proud of. I love the cube except for one thing. The wrap around fung shui back glass. That is ridiculous. Would I get a cube? If they get rid of the wrap around glass. Would I get rid of my 1st generation xB to get one? No. I will keep my xB for as long as I can.

Most of the new Nissan's are fine. They did have problems with the QR25DE engine in the manual Altima's and Sentra SE-Rs for MY02-03 and the build quality of their fullsize Armada and Titan was kind of bad for awhile but besides that their pretty good imo. Have had numerous Nissans in the family no problems what so ever.

The next CUBE will be slightly bigger and more powerful but not as big as the new xB because its still supposed to be a global model. And they'll probably use the 2.0l from the new Sentra which is a pretty good engine. Expect it around Spring next year...

Toyota reliability absolutely owns the hell out of Nissan reliability. Look at any Consumer Reports survey from the last ten years or so. :loser: Personal testimony is great, but one or two great cars owned by people on this board do not a dynasty make.

Besides, look at the scale of the people in the Cube. Their heads are pretty much touching the friggin' ceiling. It's TINY. And these are JAPANESE people - they're probably both under 5'5"!

You'd feel like you were crawling into a morgue drawer if you went from an xB into that thing. EITHER xB. =6

We all know the xB is the better car, even in the form of the half-melted B2. If you want to make a statement and screw your comfort for the .25 greater mpg you'd be getting, you might as well get a SMART car.

Its not about making a statement its about making a difference. As lame as that may sound I simply prefer to contribute as little as possible to global warming/the climate crisis, whatever you want to call it.

And believe me the Smart car is on my list of potential purchases, at least for a daily driver.

I greatly prefer Toyota products to Nissan, but the cube3 isn't THAT small - it's 153.5 inches long, 65.7 wide, and 64.8 tall, with a 102.4 inch wheelbase...

(It also comes with an interesting 4WD system that has electric drive for the rear wheels...)

The 2001 bB our original xB was based on was 155.3 inches long, 66.5 wide, 64.6 tall, with a 98.4 inch wheelbase.

The two are essentially the same size.

This seems to be concrete confirmation of the 09 Cube(towards the end of the article). For those of us who want a practical box this may be our only option.

I'm a Nissan enthusiast so from many forums thats what I've gathered.

As for those who feel Nissan's quality is still bad you have every right to your opinion but I'd recommend you look at the Versa and new Altima, they're quality is pretty good. Hey haters aside Nissan/Renault will be #3 in the world once they take Ford's spot in a year or 2...

I'm one who is not prepared to believe most any new vehicle will be imported until I see them unloading them from the boat.

It would be nice to have several choices show up - the competition would be good. :D
